Why is it that the really good series are never available in the West? Instead we get mindless teeny bopper romantic drivel.

Three words; Ju Ji HoonHe is definitely one of the busiest actors of 2024/2025,someone said he is rent must be…
I really missed “Mr Jirisan”.’ 💕 But it was worth the wait.

Ba Tu……I do not see him listed as part of the cast. He looks like Benedict Wong who played Kublai Khan in Marco Polo.

This series is an exemplary example of a True Master of Martial Arts. Each of his disciples represents different characteristics that are weaknesses the prevent a student from becoming a Master.

Each of the cast members gave a superb performance. Vincent Zhao will always remain someone who stands at the top of the martial arts Mastery.

You will rarely see such fights scenes as in this series. Mastery extraordinaire.

top tier acting from ji sung and jeon mido (which is expected) but honestly, kwon yul deserves as much, if not…
Was he sick during this drama? His face was really swollen, especially the last few episodes.

The ML was in a journey to love... He's really good in there too, maybe try that 🤷
Will do 🌺

I've noticed a lot of this, complaining about plot holes that aren't actually plot holes if you were actually…
I also think a lot of viewers forget they are not watching something real. It’s not real. I guess viewers are alright with people being tortured and killed in horrendous ways in serial killer dramas, but have issues with certain other story lines, then turn around and give the serial killer dramas high ratings. It’s supremely hypocritical.

Off the charts chemistry between YYS and SB.
Is no one going to mention the carrot pen of our favorite funny guy?
The role of the serial killer brother was astoundingly acted. His facial expressions, his crying…managed to instill in viewers, disgust and at the same time; compassion.
His facial expression towards YYS when he was telling him the secret…was pure anguish….well done. You could see his hate, his emotions at being abandoned, his thirst for love while not understanding love at all…..he gave us that all in 10 seconds.
Soo Bin. Our lovely SB….as always a firecracker and a treat to watch. She is my absolute favorite FL and she never disappoints.
And what is it about putting a male in military black and vest that sends our hearts soaring ?? Give us a series with YYS as Special Ops, and you will be picking us up off the floor, like with Wookie in Shop for Killers.
This series gave me the same heartfelt appreciation of superb plots and a great cast that My Dearest invoked.
I could see a S2 with this one where YYS rushes off to war torn areas awhile SB continues her 406 conversations.

so you don't like realistic things? 🤣
I can honestly say that it is rare I see people smoking, let alone like this is portrayed. For instance, my gran smoked but he never did so inside, and went a little ways away from the house to smoke…and he was quite vocal that no one should ever start smoking. And no one else in our family ever has.

On one hand the SK gov claims to want to get people to stop smoking….then turns around and lets Western media productions negate that assertion. Why are $$$ being spent on programs to get people to stop, and then send a mixed message to the population “oh, it’s okay, cause we need that money being slid under the table to us”

Any sensible person knows that many people are easily turned to one idea or another by showing popular celebrities smoking, for instance. I see it on social media where the young ones will fawn over how sexy an idol is when they catch them smoking.

We, as responsible citizens need to stand up and say, no, this isn’t right. Millions upon millions of people die from smoking related illness every
year.

Realistic? Are you sane. How does people smoking in a scene so much that you can barely see across the room, ENHANCE the drama? It doesn’t. For a long time now, even in drug enforcement Chinese series, you see no or few smoking scenes. I don’t see people complaining that not showing people smoking ruins the drama.

People think it's unrealistic because the main villain wants to only hurt the feelings of the person he (mistakenly)…
How come no one ever has issues when someone gets a sword thru their spine, it exits out their stomach and they are fine the next day ? Selective outrage by viewers is hilarious 😂

Oh I love that scene too. I was crying with him. He's really good. He's one of my favorite actor specially his…
Even though I loved him in Hospital Playlist, having seen what an excellent actor he is in Mr Sunshine, I was so happy to see him get a chance again to repeat that awesomeness. Here he truly does 💕

If you don’t believe her friend then you don’t believe Zhao Lusi cause if you actually took time and read…
We don’t know that do we? The friend says ZL said this was fine to do….but did she actually say that? That is what some of us are questioning. It’s not real or truthful until ZL says it is in person in a video.

you are whats wrong with this world
I am older, so it might be a generational thing…..but I would not think someone was a friend who aired personal knowledge of distasteful situations….to the whole world. And if ZL actually thought this was a good idea…what is the motive?
Hell would freeze over before I would tell people I don’t know, things about my personal life. Is this a new kind of occurrence now?

God forbid you ever find out by being beaten up and assaulted by your boss! If you don’t have anything nice…
I know this is a novel idea here on MDL but why are people not allowed to have a different opinion than others? The person stated something they think is valid…why are yours, and others comments like yours accepted as truth and their.s isn’t? Why does the “herd” get to decide what is truth, and then rudely call out others as rude? Does that make any sense? It doesn’t to me.

Sometimes truth is not pretty. Everyone should just let everyone else speak and leave it at that. That is the way adults are supposed to act.

I myself, find the situation puzzling. I was almost killed by someone, I was hurt quite badly, but I just went on with my life. So I always used to find it strange that some people seem to hang onto something that happens in their life….they make it an old friend, so much so that they eventually collapse.

As I grew older I began to see a pattern where it seems a person was fragile or something was amiss in their emotional state to begin with…so it’s not really the incident it self that caused the problem…..it’s that the person’s emotional or mental state wasn’t balanced to begin with and the incident just let the fragility leak thru.

I have found it concerning that so much of the time, after something like this happens, friends, etc will say “they were always smiling, always helping others”…….maybe that person was wearing a mask….to begin with and actually was not smiling on the inside.

Really Really wanted to watch this because of the stellar cast and plot.
But every male character has a cigarette in his mouth in every scene so I am outta here.
Typical of most Hulu dramas…..real shame.
On Chief Detective 1958 Dec 23, 2024
What I loved the most about this drama is that it is a satire of our usually stone face, quiet terminator, Je Hoon. His character in 1958 is the exact polar opposite of his usual roles, and in my opinion, makes this series even funnier. Who knew he can really laugh like a school kid?
I loved the scene where they are filming his squad for the public service film…he barely gets tapped in the stomach and you just here him whining how much it hurts 😂
The next role he is in where he is back to the bionic man, or the Taxi executioner…..we will surely remember this role….which makes him all the more endearing to his fans.

I am also going to make an observation that those who think JeHoon’s acting was a little too overdone, maybe have never actually bet a “aw shucks” real life country boy. I have….lots of them, and JeHoon’s characterization is spot on.

There is an innocent childlike naive quality in many country men….they have had no need for the jaded hard mindset that city boys need to have to survive the harshness and coldness that many city people around them, exude.

I thank Enigma5 for saving me a lot of wasted time watching this.
I have not seen the ML before and right off the bat I loved his calm demeanor.
But I can’t stand the FL….she acts like a two year old.
So I came here to find out if she ever starts acting like an adult…and according to Enigma5 she never does so I am dropping it.
A real shame…I was hoping I could watch more of the ML.
Hope the ML can star again in something worth watching. The plot isn’t actually bad…but the FL ruins it.

they are apologizing bcus of one part where she was signing & it froze having her middle finger up. literally…
Here is what is interesting though, especially because we are talking about people who are ardent watchers of Asian drama….who must know that there need only be a slight difference in the way a word is pronounced….that can be the difference between a benign term and a swear word.
So we have to ask, what kind of mindset these people who are offended are expressing …..instead of automatically thinking…”hmm, that is interesting…..it must mean something else in the Korean language…..’and then researching it before making an uneducated comment.
There is an old saying “consider the source” 😂
