Absolutely. I just finished Fierce Cop, and as a martial artist myself….the numerous fight scenes are outstanding.

You have to be very very careful with reading the redacted revisionist history that the U.S. has always taught to its citizens. Literally nothing is the truth. If you are truly interested in history…..read history books that were produced outside of the U.S.
Honestly, I was just like you at one point. Born in 1948, I was thoroughly brainwashed until the Nam war. I was horrified as I began to undercover the true history of the U.S……and those lies still continue until this day.

Compared to dramas like War of Faith, Lost Identity, or Lonely Hero, I found this drama boring and uninspired and dropped it at E6. This is my favorite genre, so there are indeed viewers who just don’t think it’s a well acted, well produced drama. Which is a shame because I love these kinds of series, especially long ones.

Ha, yes about Chu Ran…..I almost didn’t watch it because of her. But here she is really low key and talks softly and calmly. I have a real hate thing about screechy, nasal speaking women…so this drama is a good one for me, especially after just watching the traumatic series Escape from the Trilateral Slope.

A lot of viewers are mistaking the ending as being happy when it’s a flashback. Some characters, one notably, who viewers became attached to, did not end happily. It depends on who you get attached to as a character

The scene at the end shows Yao handing Jiang, Mao’s pic, where she is smiling.

Yes….first thing I noticed was she had on the same dress, and also Gao says to Yi Ran, don’t be shy…after a reference to him being a newcomer. So definitely a flashback scene.
I think it was meant as a reminder of where they came from in time, and what they have gone thru since then…..fantasy (yay, we are going to bust some druggies to reality ( Bei losing LeLe, uncertain future for Xiao Guang.
Viewers need to be reminded he suffered extreme hypoxia….even if by a miracle he regained consciousness, he would have a subpar I.Q., certainly never would be a cop again

I think Jing Yu is less popular in the U.S. because he doesn’t do “fluff” dramas. Most everyone wants to watch silly love triangle stuff, and even less want to watch anything that is about real historical events.
Constantly in really traumatic series, all you see in comments is “is there romance” (me cursing).
Lost Identity will stay with me for awhile.,..it was very traumatic for even someone like me, (I am not an emotional person), to watch.

I am in the U.S. and surprisingly YouKu is better than Viki and Netflix. It never buffers, translations are great, etc.

I find myself totally captivated with Zhang Yu…..and that is saying a lot given how much I like the two MLs. I was wondering how come I haven’t seen him before. I checked his page, and literally none of his work is available in the West 😧

He did the same thing in Lost Identity…..he seems to have really hit his stride now 🥰

First Shot is really, really good. The subtle humor thru out is hysterical. Both of the leads really play off each other well. Plot is good.
One thing I am noticing is that Jing Yu seems really relaxed in this…little pieces of his real personality keep leaking out and it’s nice to see 🥰

Why aren’t more of his movies released for Westerners? He is soooo good in the First Shot, wanted to see more of his work 😭
