Dropped. If she makes these kinds of decisions in the first episode...🤡 First she goes on and on about integrity at all costs then completely trashes hers over a personal feeling.
Fact is...if he is going to die in six months then the threat for custody is an empty threat.
All of a sudden she doesn't care about people dying, the bus driver not getting an operation because some ass**** has a tumor?

I couldn't agree more. I've been having the best time watching historical dramas from the 2010s.
Yes…and it’s disappointing to me that so few of the really good older dramas or unavailable anywhere. Last year I started buying old series on DVD…on EBay….I just bought Chicago Typewriter and am continuing to look for older historicals like Haechi which will disappear as time goes by.
I also forgot to mention in my original post that I see a major problem with continuing to create really memorable series when they are mindlessly obsessed in driving the likes of Ah-In or Allen Deng from the industry, or go even further and drive outstanding actors like Sun Kyun to
their death.
I was just musing today whether it was all about the drug situation with Ah-In, or was someone targeting his open gayness? We will never know for certain.

You bring up a good point. In Asian dramas, we never see a kick ass female character lose her femininity.
As an example….one of my all time favorite characters is Jiang Lu Xia in Glory of Special Forces.
The character is amazing because not only is Lu Xia portrayed as equally proficient as the ML, but we also are privileged to see her vulnerable moments as a compassionate female.
There are also a few scenes in the beginning where she wins the admiration of the naysayers who have a tad of a misogynistic mindset….but she overcomes their resistance, not with being mouthy or getting in anyone’s face…..but exhibiting proficiency in her skills. We never see her whine….she just does what needs to be done.
There are many of us out here like Lu Xia…..it’s nice to see that Asian dramas, particularly Chinese ones, remember us.

👏👏👏👏. Absolutely. The ironic thing though is most men are too tunnel visioned and do not realize that the escalating appreciation of Asian dramas by white women is because women like men with softer sides, not cavemen mentalities.

Not to criticize….but women are part of the problem. I am 80. I never, no matter what it cost me, let misogynistic men have any effect in my life. Most women are too passive. They need to be willing to die on the hill of being equal. Most are not willing to make the sacrifices needed for them to be free.
There are ALWAYS work arounds to any situation of being oppressed. But actions have consequences…..

“ ...Also I don't believe USA can remake any show from other countries, especially not asian crountries that have a certain GRACEFULLNESS that's missing in the american culture, an american version will just come across CRINGE.”

I couldn’t have said it any better. Kudos.

Oh, I see. We all knew this would happen…..following in the disastrous footsteps of Hollywood.
Here’s an idea Studio Dragon…..why not focus on good scripts….instead of the same mindless copy and paste productions.
Return to creating the exemplary Korean drama scripts of the past. Stop churning out crap no one with a mind wants to watch and stop subjecting amazing actors to the drudgery of wash, rinse, repeat productions.
Use your brains and realize you need to create more dramas like My Dearest and CLOY instead of silly romance dramas with brainless female characters who have screechy voices and act like two year olds.
Which is why many of us are watching more and more CDrama.

Yes. 😂. I am 80. We grow up with this Christianized mindset, even if we don’t realize it, that we must save people, at our own expense. I am Chinese Korean but was raised Christian.
Wasn’t till I moved to Confucianism and Daoism I began to get my head on straight and realized that if people want to change, they can do that themselves and I don’t need to save anyone.
Such a simple concept…..but yet…..
Now I remind myself often….that every person has a right to be wrong and I should respect that.
I only engage now if someone looks like they are really looking for a different solution, a different mindset than the one they are living in. But I keep it short…then it’s for them to pursue or not.
Just finished Woo Bin’s Black Belt Cop…..I thought it was fantastic…..the younger viewers didn’t seem to feel the same. Too many ADD, one dimensional viewers out there nowadays, I feel compassion for actors….they put so much of themselves into their work and then people just feel compelled to be critical and judgmental

With all the crap series out this year, WHY ISNT BLACK BELT A SERIES?
Gosh, this was sooo good.
The whole cast rocks…and yes, I saw Kang Hyun Suk’s sweet face hiding in there 💜.
Woo Bin did a fantastic job…..thanks for the short but interesting ride.

Probably like TT though, depends whose channels you follow. I have been on both for years and never had a problem with nasty comments in regards to my comments….but yes, I have seen less than kind comments to others who post comments.
That said, I still stand by my opinion, as humble as it may be, that MDL has a lot of vicious commenters, who apparently only know swear words 😂

Oh sh*t, HONDA?! I thought it was someone else. Okay then, we'll have to watch this, for one more reason :DWhy…
It's unusual for me to rewatch series, and if I do, it's usually a couple of years down the road. I have watched SFKs twice already. Really excellent drama. We need a S2 💕. It's unusual in KDramas for us to get to see a strong female character with no silly tropes, screechy voices, baby talk or I can't live without him nonsense.
We were fortunate to have two such female characters in SFKs......😍 Not to mention getting to see LDW strut around in military gear is a gift from heaven 😎
Kim Min is always memorable in every role he plays. Adored him in Big Bet and Song of the Bandits. I see on his page....nothing except for a movie in 2025 😭
Lily Alice Oct 6, 2024
I am always pleased to see him in a role and he quietly but perfectly always gives life to the characters he plays. He was so good in My Dearest.....it was a difficult role to flesh out and he somehow managed to have us feel compassion for the choices he made regarding Gil Chae. I would assume he must have liver damage or perhaps lung cancer.
I hope he is able to stay with us a long time.

Surprisingly this was quite good. Good script, good acting. And there is much history here about what happened when the Brits invaded HK. Richie Ren and Simon Yam.....some of the top Triad genre actors, always a pleasure to watch
