though i see more people empathising with her now thankfully, after seeing so much negativity and vitriol thrown…
I was curious to know what you would say š
This was so well written. Like you said love can't erase trauma but love can encourage us to become better versions of ourselves so we can love, protect and nurture our relationships right. I see a lot of people talk about Yifanās trauma, grief, abandonment and loss but they donāt realize the grip her familyās abuse has on her. They donāt understand how Yifanās family uses family ties, shame and the law to drag her around to the point where her first (and most successful) mechanism is to run. Like you, I canāt comment on the right/wrong but I too can see and understand why she would make such a move.
I really want to see how she reproaches Sang Yan and how everything unfolds going forward.
Oh someone on twitter made a good point that Xiang Lang saw Wen Yifan so he can tell everybody where she is š…
I wouldn't be surprised if he does have a conversation with Sang Yan. In the novel XL was working in the same company as Sang Yan right? They bumped into each other and that's when Sang Yan finds out about the Yihe University comment and that Yifan lived with her uncle and not her grandmother. Since he already knows that she lived with her aunt they changed that scene to XL revealing Yifan is in Hong Kong.
I read a comment here calling her a failure, but how can that be said after everything sheās been through? She…
Great points! This is why people need to understand moving on from woulds/traumas isn't in the same as resolving and overcoming them. I've read the novel, I get why novel readers may be upset but the drama also isn't done. I want to see where the remaining episodes take us. I still love these two characters so more than anything I want them to have a wholesome ending.
after the traumatizing episode yesterday, here's BJT and ZRN from their weibo livestream last night.https://x.com/HIRAETHSXT/status/1898032001078510032?t=bEOQyb9TG4V47aTVwrVcTg&s=19
I need their full livestream š I'm so happy these two get along off screen too, their rapport really took their chemistry on screen to a different level. I really hope these two come back together for another drama soon!
I just finished ep 24 and have not seen ep 25 yet. I am not as mad as I thought I would be. I feel the director…
I'm curious to see where they go with this in tonight's episode. I'm trying to be optimistic and think these two episodes were to put people in Yifan's shoes and have Sang Yan trace back everything that happened 6 years ago.
Okay so Iām a little torn between the comments Iāve read and the clips Iāve watched. I had so much written out in the comment box only for the page to crash. The comment section is going through a tsunami right now.
Many have spoken about Yifanās trauma, grief, abandonment, loss, scarcity ofā¦everything she could have tangibly need to get out of her familyās abuse however I donāt think people understand the depth of shame and how far shame makes people run.
Moving on from trauma doesnāt mean one has āovercomeā it. When someone overcomes trauma that also doesnāt mean they have also overcome the shame and fear that comes with it especially if the person/factor thatās driving those two emotions is constantly violating your boundaries and jeopardizing the safety of the people you love, which is what the uncle and Yifanās family is doing.
I ask people have more grace and understanding for Yifan. Letās see how she communicates with Sang Yan going forward and how she reproaches him in episode 27.
Toni this is so good! What an amazing song choice, especially with the lyrics talking about the burn the two leads feel for one another. Please keep the edits coming and I love that you're using the whole song.
This! I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't consider this drama a slow burn. Sang Yan and Yifan do have history and they had so many moments where you could tell they had feelings for each other even though it was during their youth. Their feelings were very real towards one another.
Sang Yan and Wen Yi Fan weibo update has been translated and uploaded in the link below āļøšIt seems that…
Thank you for translating these on a daily. I'm going to go back to these during my rewatch, there is so many little details to take in with these characters whether it's the episode itself or their promotional content. I really don't want this drama to be over š
I have so many thoughts running in my head about these characters and I can't believe we're counting down to under 10 episodes. I want Yifan to get her justice but I also don't want Sang Yan and Yifan's love story to end š
The director has done a really good job with the sleepwalking scene and including the little details from the…
Love 18 Again! I haven't seen Sound of Magic yet and loved AOS! I wish they added another 2-5 episodes to season 2.
I haven't experienced the difference between kdramas/cdramas (yet) given that the plot/character development was good, though that might change this year considering there are some really good cdramas coming out this year.
Have you watched Our Beloved Summer and It's Okay Not To Be Okay? Also what are your fav cdramas, anything similar to First Frost?

That might be true, I usually stay away from such dramas which is why I might have not picked up that. Do you think kdramas that are written originals by the drama writers turn out better? I think CLOY one of the best kdramas at tying in all the details, the epilogues and the way they connected the two leads was amazing. That said I've seen remakes where I thought the cdrama version or another country's version handled it better.
Which kdramas do you think did cinematography/attention to detail right and which ones didn't?

Yifan truly did the best she could with what she had.
