Agree! The preview might have made Xie Zheng look like he wants to be this knight in shining armor but truth is, he was just being a good leader and husband. He even said āridiculousā when he saw Chang Yu and her squad using Sui Yuan Qing to confront their enemy. That ending scene in episode 25 was just so powerful and shows who his character as Marquis of Wuāan.
The ending of episode 25 though! Xie Zheng had such a commanding presence even as commoner Yan Zheng. The way he talked to the fake Marquis but actually talking and educating Chang Yu and her Pig Butcher Squad, commands so much force and charisma. Xie Zheng is honestly such a great Marquis. As a leader, he canāt show leniency towards Chang Yu and her squad. As a husband, he will take the punishment for her. That ending was powerful. Such a party pooper that they cut the scene right when Xie Zheng was about to get caned.
Xie Zheng and Chang Yuās kiss scene was so romantic and full of tension. Zeng Qing Jie has a way of making a simple glance and a single touch look so.. romantic and sensual.
