This drama makes me feel like it would have been so nice to be a young adult in the 80s to 90s.. Xia xiaolan is…
Thought so too! Then again, Xiao Lan basically has a cheat sheet in life and an experience in the modern life so I wonder how different it would have been if she wasn’t a transmigrator and was actually born and raised in that time. The real 80s 90s Xiao Lan is passive, if I’m not mistaken. But nonetheless, I love Xia Xiao Lan’s character. Honestly, seeing her work towards her dreams just makes me feel so full, happy, and proud 😍😌
After episode 8 I’m starting to get so hooked on this drama. Episode 9 is so cute! I also love how in episode 10, we get to see how it feels like to gain and lose sense of touch from 2 perspectives. I did not know that losing sense of touch will cause you to lose sense of space either. I’m starting to really enjoy this drama. 😍
PROS (1 = favorite) 1. Visuals and cinematography 2. Xigu Lane arc 3. Main, supporting, and ensemble characters 4. Overall relatively loose censorship 5. Balance between comedic and serious moments 6. OSTs
CONS (1 = worst) 1. Underwhelming execution of men’s action scenes and battle/war sequences 2. Episode 39 3. Abrupt transition into political, revenge, and war themes due to limited early buildup 4. Tighter censorship for the main couple (except the bathtub scene) 5. Visible filming crew and fans in certain scenes

Duan Xu’s one man show and the revelations of his past just adds a layer of excitement for me. For the first time ever, I can’t wait to see more episodes!
Episode 8 is like the turning point for me. To be honest, this drama wasn’t able to hook me at first and I find myself sleepy at times. However episode 8 really got me hooked.
You guys be saying anything. I'm a novel reader and nope 😭. That guy better as side 🤣
I’m glad! I find their sibling dynamic cute. Also the fact that this cold Si Mu lowkey cares about little Chen Ying is like him bringing out the “human” in her.
