Someone knows why I can't download ep 3 subtitles from KaizenSubs?
The same thing happened last week. (The Google Drive became inaccessible.) But after a day or so, the subber made it available again. Fingers crossed that it's going to be like that too this week.
First of all, thank you for writing about your experience and sharing it with us. And congratulations for participating in your first ever MDL Drama Challenge! :D
Personally, I love MDL Drama Challenge. If nothing else, it always pushed me just a bit farther outside my comfort zone, challenged me to check out stuff that I would've never tried otherwise. But yeah, it's always important to not overdo it and not let the goal (finishing the Watch Challenge) overwhelm the journey (enjoying the dramas and movies that you picked).
As always, thank you for taking the time to compile all of this, @OAL.
Some interesting stuff from WOWOW there. And I'm definitely going to watch the second season of Youkai Sharehouse (the subber of its first season has said that he's going to work on that). I'm probably going to check out Kingyo Tsuma and Tokyo Vice too, just because it's not every day that Japanese dramas are available on official platforms.
https://twitter.com/KaizenSubs is subbing the show. Last week, I asked permission to follow and then got access…
Yeah, I don't have Twitter account but since they opened their Twitter from time to time, I could still get their GDrive link. I swear their GDrive was still accessible until yesterday, but now it's locked. I guess I just have to drop this :'(
Just baaaaaaaaaaaaaad. I'm sorry for the actors, 'cause there's no character development. The sex scenes are hella…
Nah, the movie that inspired Parasite was the 1960 movie of the same title. (I think this is supposed to be its remake? Check out @Nandazx's comment below.)
Okay, I just watched episode 1, and I can confirm that this drama is deliberately trashy. It's ridiculous and over the top in every way, and if that's your jam, I can't recommend it highly enough.
But if it's quality that you're looking for, whether in terms of production value or acting or story, don't even bother :D
Hey, just want to say once again how grateful I am for your subs. After the wonderful Konto ga Hajimaru, you've…
Oh, okay, thank you. I'm going to credit you as Kaizen Subs then, because that's your handle on Twitter. Hopefully people will take note and decide to follow you directly.
Feel free to contact me if you ever want them deleted.

Oh, okay. I actually wanted to ask your permission to reupload them to Subscene, but I won't unless you give me your express permission. Thanks for replying :)
From the Producer -The title is pinkish and not red because the drama is not all about suspense, there is romance,…
Hey, just want to say once again how grateful I am for your subs. After the wonderful Konto ga Hajimaru, you've chosen another good drama to sub and it's thanks to you that so many of us have the chance to enjoy it :)
Oh, and I'm wondering, do you have any plan on re-upload your subs to Subscene? Or are you content to just let them available on Gdrive?
I am very thick. Even when one of the hit men said, How can a parent kill their own child? it didn't register to me that Takenaka Naoto's character killed his own family. I only realized that when I read the review above.
And yeah, Sato Koichi's and Motoki Masahiro's characters looking like they want to kiss each other really was the best part of the movie.
This is like a Japanese take on "makjang" (melodrama on steroids). Or is it parody? A satire? I legit don't know. But what I do know is that I genuinely enjoyed it :)
And thank you screenwriter for writing the line, My body isn't what it used to be, delivered by very ripped Ichihara Hayato with his body on full display.
Good job with the article! I love your choices for the cast, Odagiri in particular. I too, can vividly see him playing a wisecracking ghostbuster who is smoking too much pot and is unable to differentiate between his narcotic visions and real ghosts. I think I laughed a little too loud reading that sentence :D
As this article and several commenters have mentioned, Kurosawa Akira had famously borrowed (and in turn inspired) elements of western movies--Seven Samurai, Yojimbo, Sanjuro. Uchida Tomu's The Outsiders and Kinoshita Keisuke's A Legend or Was It were also heavily inspired by western.
As for more recent stuff, off the top of my head, there's Lee Sang-il's Unforgiven (remake of Clint Eastwood's) and Miike Takashi's spaghetti western (ramen western?) Sukiyaki Western Django.
I'm sure I'm only scratching the tip of the iceberg here.
