1. how did this chairman get two women? he's so mid and didn't he inherit business from his wife or something?…
The chairman killed his father-in-law and Jung-Ran (who was a maid) killed the chairman's first wife. The will was changed to give the chairman everything, then he remarried Jung-Ran.
The worst daily drama I've seen was The Two Sisters. That was AWFUL!
Okay, so this site was WAY off. So Secrets & Lies had an "evil pair of protagonists"- Jae-Bin and Hwa-Kyung? While Do-Bin and Woo-Jung opposed them/were antagonists? ๐ค
It's a political drama, so yeah, political agendas should be expected here lol. As for the FL being a villain?…
Fair. I did not know that Tia meant unnie in Portuguese, though I do know that Tรฌa means "auntie" in Spanish. Huh, maybe I should start learning a bit of Portuguese too... ๐ค
They want all female characters to act like brainless children. It pisses me off, we are in 2026! 26 YEARS into…
I'm still so confused- I think you missed the point of what I was actually saying in that response to the post. You could just... ask for clarification? Or context? ๐ค Can you explain a bit more?
Well, the most basic answer to your second question is the patriarchy which intentionally enforces conservative values. Men are born taught from birth to be emotionless protectors and providers. As a result, it impacts both men AND women, pushing men towards the political right while alienating most women, who tend to go politically left (or center.) This isn't unique to 1 country either- it's worldwide! Which is why it's good that feminism exists... contrary to certain beliefs, the core of feminism is simply equality between men and women. Which is what I believe in. Because men may be the providers, but women are the creators. ๐
So far, so good. FL is pure evil and soooo egoistic lol, but she is *kinda* right.Plus.... Like always, genie…

Hysterical... lol okay. I think I'm pretty calm, guess a woman can't speak up for herself without being considered emotional somehow. Typical!
FYI: The answer to men being more right-wing than women is much more simple than you think, plus what conspiracy theories have I mentioned? You sure you not mixing me up with the original poster that I responded to? I'm lost... ๐คจ
I'm not Asian, no. I'm black (specifically West African/Ghanaian-American.... in the simplest way possible. Lol) But I do watch Asian content. Koreans, like most countries, tend to have dialects. I do NOT mind that- I have a heavy NY accent myself. The problem with this drama is that it's being exaggerated for comedic effect, and it makes me CRINGEEEEE ๐ญ
THIS IS WHAT I MEAN!!!! You nailed it ๐ or like they have something stuck in their mouth. Didn't know you were English either!
Oh Jung-Ran played by Kim Hee-Jung, here? Man, all she does is screech like a banshee. Which is what most of the female characters here have been doing. Very grating to listen to eventually... as for High Kick, which one was considered "awful"? There's 3 parts lol
Nah, only the dad died, and the FL's twin sister got choked out by Jung-Ran. FL hasn't done shit for her revenge... my patience made me lose this one. Usually I watch most KBS2 dailies and abandon MBC ones, now it's the opposite here lol

Go Hyun-Jung is quickly joining my line-up of favorite actresses too! I think I talked with you on the Return thread? Queen Mantis is on my PTW list ๐
Actually, The Lady In Dignity was one of the first k-dramas I ever watched back in 2018 (started k-dramas in 2017), and I LOVED IT! 10/10 drama for me! (And I think it's what got me into mystery dramas/makjangs more, lol.)
Honestly, I think both of them are doing an amazing job here. Again, Tae-Seop is the protagonist, so of course…
I've never seen Ha Ji-Won in a full drama, but I know her and I've seen little clips here and there. Your perception of the script is, of course, objective, but like I said, Tae-Seop is the protagonist, so he's highlighted the most. I guess Sang-Ah would be a co-protagonist or a deuteragonist. Nonetheless I'm thoroughly enjoying the drama too!
The misogyny part comes into play when people are attacking and bashing Ha Ji-Won as a whole, or demeaning her talent, while praising Ju Ji-Hoon and glorifying Tae-Seop (vs completely demonizing Sang-Ah.) Those double standards are absolutely ridiculous.
Oh, I need Yang-Mi to die by the end! ๐ Her going to prison (unlikely) is NOT ENOUGH for me! But I think the chairman may end up being the final boss/Big Bad here...
Surprised you're watching this, my friend. Hong-Ju ain't even a real antagonist, neither is her bummy mother.…
Sadly ๐ I just skip the mom & daughter dummy duo scenes at this point lol
I want Jang-Mi to do more than her little tricks! Pull off something HUGE! (It's too early to reveal the Big Secret of Seo-Rin not being Hwa-Young's daughter to the chairman.) Speaking of the chairman, I feel like he'll die for some reason?
I just looked it up and it's true. Wow. May he rest in peace. ๐
