I love this series so much. I questioned before why people weren't rating it high and I STILL don't understand why. This is one of the few BLs where the OST/songs actually stand out in a very good way, the main characters specifically I feel are realistic and lovable, and the progression of their relationship is natural.
Whoever is sleeping on this series, you're severely missing out!!

I'm genuinely curious as to what you mean by "silly BL"? Cause I'm interpreting that as an elitist statement thinking…

Uh, no? I was asking you because it sounded like you were potentially judging people for liking "silly" BLs versus more mature/serious ones. My rating system only shows my opinion, and is not a way of judging others for what they watch, whereas your statement, as you just confirmed, IS meant to judge others.
Aaand the point is that I disagree with that.
Like what are you even talking about??? You think this is a Gotcha Moment or something?

any good high budget ones you recommend?
TMS , the Eighth Sense, and IFYLITA are definitely medium to high budget. I just don't know like, the actual budgets of each series, so I can only kind of guess at it by using the production and the company!

Title 4Minutes Spoiler
Incoming rant from someone who overanalyses and is a writer herself and needs to vent:
This rant was a long time coming given BOC's track record but here we are. Why oh why do they keep tripping up when it comes to endings? It happened in DFF as well, but with that series everyone knew from the start that it was campy and just kinda strange overall (though imo even with that in mind they fumbled that last episode HARD).
They manage to create cinematography-wise, intrigue-wise, actor-wise and even story-wise a pretty solid first half of a series, and then? Somehow? Halfway through, you can see the cracks forming and then they just can't seem to stick the landing.

I had my theory last week which I was relatively confident over, but somehow, they managed to muddle the story and the mystery even more in the finale! Like what the fuck?
Tonkla's character arc is wholly all over the place, where we have to make assumptions about his motives and real feelings and emotions because he doesn't make much sense as a character. We never find out who he truly is as a person. We can make assumptions, such as Tonkla simply being someone who uses everyone around him, but that makes me question every single emotional scene that involved him. Is he mentally ill? Is he just a cunning murderer? Both, neither?
And what about Korn? I mean, what were his motives? What's his deal with Fah? Does he love Great, or not? One minute he'll run to find his brother, and the other he'll happily run away with Tonkla leaving Great to rot.
Is Great a selfish sociopath, or is he a pitiful, hopeless romantic?
Let's not even start about what the fuck is actually going on with the timeline and timejumping shit. Again, we can make assumptions, but they've not explained a single thing. I don't believe I'm a dumb person where hidden meanings and symbolism just fly right over my head. BOC fucked up yet another finale. If you can find some answers in this mess, good for you.

Suffice it to say, I am Not Happy. I was laughing when Tonkla died because Korn looked like a drenched rat who found a crumb of bread when trying to see if he survived. I don't give a fuck about Korn, and frankly, I was hoping for Win to shoot both of them because he's the only character who I cared for by the end. And that's coming from someone who did really like WinTonkla as opposed to KornTonkla; I just didn't care for them anymore.
It pisses me off so much when a series makes a big deal about keeping What's Real and What Isn't as a mystery all throughout and then don't fucking show you clearly what the deal was by the end.
This might be one of the very few series where I feel like it would've been better if it was longer. Usually, I'm pretty happy with shorter series, as they take a lot of the unnecessary drama and fluff away, but if we even had two more episodes, everything could've been fleshed out and we could've naturally unraveled the answers as to what the fuck is up with the 4 minutes shit.

Ugh. Okay. I got it out of my system (maybe). I'm rating this series a 7.5 only because of the WinTonkla sex scenes and you can embed that on my gravestone.

any good high budget ones you recommend?
Sure! These are more high budget in the sense that I personally believe they are of very high quality, which is obviously still subjective! I guess I'd more so call them realistic depictions of relationships? With ups and downs, heart break/break-ups and may OR may not have bittersweet or sad endings.
- To My Star season 1 & 2
- More than Words
- The Eighth Sense
- I Feel You Linger In The Air
- Life: Love on the Line (Director's Cut)
I'm sure there's more but these are some of my faves, hope there's some you haven't seen yet!
(If you specifically wanna know which of these do have happy endings, I'll gladly tell under a spoiler tag!)

finally a proper drama, and not just silly BL
I'm genuinely curious as to what you mean by "silly BL"? Cause I'm interpreting that as an elitist statement thinking one type of drama is "better" than the other, but I hope I'm wrong!
On Love in the Big City Sep 11, 2024
I'm excited though I'm but a fragile human and I'm unsure whether I could take the angst. Low budget gay heartbreak is horrific enough, high budget is even worse!
And those tags 💀 absolutely diabolical. "Sad romance" and "tearjerker"?! I swear to god

I just read the blur and this series seems a bit... problematic (for lack of a better word), no? The bit I'm struggling…
"I haven't watched the show" yeah we can tell lol
+ the amount of question marks make it obvious this comment is trolling and baiting for outrage or for people to explain the literal plot to them. IMO they clearly are so I guess ur going on the block list 💅🏻✨

My current interpretation:Timeline 1: TymeGreat dating eraTimeline 2: TymeGreat Enemies-to-Enemies era, WinTonkla…
Additional Notes:

- Great seems to genuinely like Tyme a lot in reality, hence why his imagination paints their relationship as a cute one.

- We got a KornTonkla flashback, because that is reality. If it wasn't real, we shouldn't be getting a flashback, as that inherently indicates a truth is being shown.

- Great ends up shot in both reality and imagination because that's an inescapable fate. However, in his imagination, he is heroically protecting his mother while getting shot, likely him imagining himself to be a better person than he actually is and inserting a complete lie to make himself feel better.

Title 4Minutes Spoiler
My current interpretation:
Timeline 1: TymeGreat dating era
Timeline 2: TymeGreat Enemies-to-Enemies era, WinTonkla canon

Timeline 2 is Reality, Timeline 1 takes place in Great's last 4 minutes alive, probably in a coma or simply dying.

So, all of WinTonkla scenes happen in Timeline 2, which I think is actually Reality. Dome is killed, and Tonkla ends up drugging Title and presumably killing him and shooting Great. I'm guessing that Tonkla somehow got his hands on that recording from Title's car. I reiterate: I think every Win and Tonkla appearance are strictly part of reality.

Timeline 1 is Great's last 4 minutes reliving all those scenes and "fixing" them, ie making them happier for himself. Imagining a What-If scenario for himself, maybe. Given that in this version of events WinTonkla would've never met, as Dome would've lived, and Great doesn't know them, we never see them.

Ofc we have two more episodes left but I gotta be honest, this episode actually cleared up A LOT for me. Unless I'm super dumb, just like Tyme in reality 💀
Anddd unless BOC throws another layer of plot twists down which I'm sure they will... Just see this as a temporary theory lol

i hate to be that person...but Jess, come on, what were that 2 half assed kisses today? 😭
I think the TymeGreat kisses this episode were a nice show of domesticity and a contrast against what we've seen of WinTonkla and KornTonkla.
I feel like it shows they're far more emotionally involved with each other. It's a lot sweeter, so I actually loved it even though the kisses were not as "intense"!

Probably the age difference. BL audiences don't like that.
Yeahh that's probably it. I hope the majority is a bunch of kids who don't understand fictional age gaps vs real ones lol

The wig may be atrocious but that's my only complaint lmfao
Usually I'm hesitant with series that feature music/singing as a main element cause it SUCKS but not this one!!
I really like the premise and the pace so far. The dynamic between the main leads isn't something that's never been done before but it's still relatively rare, and I like it.

side note wtf is up with this rating?? y'all crazy for that 💀

Title Cityboy_Log
It might not even be that Jihan is suddenly cool with Yunje but rather doesn't feel like he has to be on the offense…
Jihan is very good at hiding his contempt then cause personally I could never. Maybe he's overcompensating but i think that'd be giving cityboy_log too much credit.

And yeah I doubt Jihan knows the extent of cheating, but since we as the watchers do know, I really really hope he will find out. I'll be pretty annoyed if it just remains a dirty secret between Jaejun and Yunje 🤷‍♀️

But even so, going on a vacation trip with someone who has clearly shown interest in your partner and didn't care they were already in a relationship (with you!)?? I have trouble seeing the logic in that but ok.
