Completely agreeI was so disappointed in last season and that of watching it this time but lol once you watch…
I was gonna be done with the show completely after last season, but I decided to give it one more chance, and I’m glad I did.
Instead of all the guys being hyper-focused on one girl and all the girls being hyper-focused on one guy while everyone else wanders around aimlessly, there are many possible matches, so it makes the show more interesting and less predictable. And the new activities like the photo shoot are so fun, and I love that the producers are making the contestants be honest during the truth game instead of letting them skip and hide behind vague expressions and actions.
Agree with everything you said. I love when reality shows take SOME of their audience's criticisms and use them…
I saw them. Thought they were very immature. I still wouldn’t say she’s a bad person or anything, but she should definitely work on her insecurities. It’s ironic that the girl who’s won beauty pageants is this insecure. But maybe it’s not. It seems to be a pattern.
All caught up with this season 🔥 I literally told myself I was done with this show, yet here I am crawling…
I was thinking the same thing. Hyun Jae is the best-looking guy I've ever seen on the show, but sadly his personality isn't really shining through :-/ He seemed like he'd get all the girls in his intro package, but is laid-back and kind of shy in reality. If he were the only hot guy it wouldn't matter, but with other attractive men on the island with stronger personalities, he's fading into the background.
I loved the photoshoot! It encouraged physical touch, which swayed some people. Whoever decided not to let the contestants skip their turn in the Truth game also deserves a raise. There hasn't been a dull moment this season so far.

I've got like 20 minutes of ep 4 left. So far I've seen Mina Sue be jealous, but frankly that's just something humans experience sometimes. Especially in this environment. I thought she was going to be evil with the way the comments keep going on about her lol. Personally, I guess I'm just not as harsh on contestants on reality shows because they're getting very little sleep + drinking lots of alcohol + in an emotional pressure cooker.
I'm waiting to see Mina Sue roll her eyes, but even then I probably wouldn't reduce her to being a bad or toxic person just for that. Immature in the moment? Sure. But not a bad person or toxic. You usually have to really hurt someone or commit a crime for me to think that.
As someone who loved watching the photoshoots in America's Next Top Model, I'm LOVING the couple's photoshoot here. They looked so good, and the producers accomplished what they wanted to accomplish by putting the contestants in a position to be jealous.
The one thing I like about this season is it's improved game structure. Especially the addition of red and golden…

I’m actually surprised by this comment. I think you’re one of the few people who think FL is perfect. People…
I don’t generally like the noble idiocy trope (another name for the noble sacrifice trope) either. Trust me. But the point of the discussion is whether the FL has flaws or not. Getting mad at Li Wu for lying by omission about switching colleges only to turn around and do something similar is definitely hypocrisy, which is a flaw. She’s also a control freak (I say that lovingly, but it’s true).
Also, her telling him she wants him to go, but will miss him wouldn’t have worked, and the drama established that. That’s something you may have missed or not gotten the full scope of since you read the recaps instead of watched. Li Wu was really stubborn lol. The “perfect” non-flawed thing for her to do would’ve been to express that she didn’t want him to miss a good opportunity, but ultimately let him make his own decision. But she forced his hand.
At the end of the day, I understand the character’s not flawed in ways you’d like/find compelling, but they’re objectively still flaws.
I would recommend C-dramas that have done well recently:1. Shine on me2. Sniper Butterfly 3. Light beyond the…
Dramas4me recommended dramas that are popular, not dramas that were similar to Love Between Lines. For example, Sniper Butterfly is a jiejie drama with a ten year age gap and Twelve Letters is told over two timelines with elements of magical realism. Completely different than Love Between Lines. I also mentioned I don’t necessarily find popular dramas good, which is why I asked about Love Between Lines more pointedly :)

Definitely one of the best verticals period I've ever seen, much less a solid RR.

It does have the “leave for your own good” trope, but a drama with a ten year age gap would hardly be realistic without it.
What’s the ML and FL’s relationship dynamic, and who fell first? (Instead of going by ratings, I ask people who I think have good taste on MDL lol).
