Also, the dad was great addition too. I wish he had more screentime.
"It's okay, I was the reason you were afraid to tell" < this scene broke me. Also the scene where she wanted to ask him about Gun, but saw how scared he was and decided to change the topic.
And I honestly have no issue with idols showing abs ยฏ\_(ใ)_/ยฏ They train their bodies and then use them as assets on stage - fine with me. But there was one big issue I had with HOW Ji Woong did it - he sacrificed his line to do it. There was exactly zero reasons for him to put that shirt in his mouth as he was singing his part. It would have exactly the same effect on the audience without it. Basically showing abs should NEVER be more important than the vocal or rap performance, as they are singers not body builders.
Also it feels like the judges just put the teams into categories matched them the least to see what will happen
Also can we get a full extra episode of the picking songs?
BXB (4:00) - Victory Song.
Damn... that's a COMPLETE 180 from Reply ๐คฃ this fits them so much better than cute fresh concept lol Also, I love the outfits. Just because you are young and new idols does not mean you need to do cute and fresh concept. This was better than their first stage.
DIGNITY (1:00) - Maverick
First of all, I really like the original song
From the start it lacks the energy and the wow factor that makes you focus on the performance. They had exactly the same issue during their first stage... The chorus in this song HITS SO HARD, but the performance does not show it at all ๐ฅฒ Like damn. The dance break was great and the chorus the "back in the game" part hits so strong after the dance break, there is so much energy, why they performed the first half with like low batter I don't know.
First of all Karam is my bias as of now. I love the dude. From "good for you" to "this is the power of people in their 30s" ๐คฃ
DGNA / The Boss (23:00) - Shine
This is not an easy song for people their age lol But damn they managed to make it fun and hype and not embarrassing at all. Legit just want to vibe with them! Also for all the vocals, they did well with rap too!
BDC (18:00) - Beautiful Beautiful
10 seconds in, I'm sold. I love my dudes in their 30s, but damn BDC ate that performance and they fitted the concept so much better. I honestly believe this pairing was a bit unfair. They should have put another older team against 23 team. Team 18 won easily. That was a clean freshness on stage.
24K (21:00) - Very Good
That's a good pick. Coz it's a crazy bad boys, not sexy bad boys, and I don't think they can pull off sexy bad guys lol They are trying so hard, but they still looks soooooo cute ๐คฃ Shi Woo did soooooooooooooooo good tho. The way he went towards 20 team at the end ๐๐ป
๐M.O.N.T (20:00) - Go Crazy
I'm sorry, but this is a meme song, not a bad guy song That said... they kind of fit and not fit the concept? They gave me a troublemakers vibe, which kind of can be considered bad guys. More like a dudes that cause mayhem rather than cool dangerous vibes. I liked it tho. For sure more than Very Good, which was just... too cute and tamed from more membera.
GHOST9 (14:00) - I Luv It
This is such a good song to perform. As long as you are confident and relaxed, it's rather easy to ace it.
Jun Hyeong opening so strong I feel proud. But... I feel like some members wanted to look cool... and it's not it for this song...
BAE173 (13:00) - La Song
Great opening picture and formation. Mu Jin really stands out as a performer damn. and damn the chorus sounds like an awesome anthem! This was truly an impressive stage. For me they won, but not by much against I Luv It. I agree with 4:4.
I am so happy all the grown up men are doing the sexy concept
๐VANNER (11:00) - Love Killa
dsfhdsjkg that solo dance yes. i can be the floor? I liked it? I think the ad libs during the closing rap part were a bit all over the place and not quite necessary, but overall, done well. I like the idea of a classic mature sexy tbh. Like damn you don't need to be half naked to be sexy hahaha
24:00 - Good Boy Gone Bad
Jong Up is just sfkshd nsdlkvjgdslblfas f oof. But... i don't know... something was overall missing in the performance. Maybe I just know and enjoy the original song too much, so the a bit different delivery does not click well with me. I honestly feel like they lack strong rapper ๐ฅฒ
What I learned from the episode tho: no amount of preexisting fame, years of experience, giving your 1000% can top showing abs ๐คก Pretty sure two trainees that showed their abs got most individual votes. Ji Woong with 259 and Park Han Bin with 253. Sad truth, but I guess to succeed in Korea these trainees need to hit the gym, not the vocal practice room ๐คก
You must mean me, right? If not, I'm sorry for jumping to the conclusion. But I have no issue with anyone praising Jay, I did myself lol I think he did a lot better than Hui in the performance. But your comment was NOT complimenting Jay, it was focused on bashing Hui for being in the show - there is a difference. All I did was ask for clarification from you and you obviously did not think things through before answering so your answers literally contradicted each other ยฏ\_(ใ)_/ยฏ
Literally everyone in the comment section agrees Jay did better. Not one person thinks Hui should have win that round. Go be pressed for nothing
Love Me Right K team did great. Overall one of the strongest performances. I just felt like G group felt more fresh and fun on stage. Their energy just exploded, while K team had a good pacing and energy level throughout the whole stage.
If the issue is fame and already having fans, the only way for this to be truly fair would be removing ALL already debuted idols. Because even without Hui someone else would have an advantage because of their fans. There would always be someone more "lucky" because they already have fanbase, so the only way would be removing everyone who ever debuted. But then it should also mean removing anyone who participated in other similar shows, because even without debut, they do gain fans thanks to that. That's why I am asking for the clear line when it's fine and when it's not. Everyone has a different one, but if someone is against Hui so strongly as some people, I hope they at least took some time to think why and what would be their idea of who can and cannot participate.
The Unit had issues, because it was supposed to be for failed idols, but then a lot of the participants were people who barely debuted and even some trainees. All shows do not stick to their own idea of what the show is supposed to be ๐
Also, about the other reply. Sure, you made it clear where you think the line should be, thank you since you did answer my question.
I just want a clarification, where is the acceptable line for you, that's all.
Also, I'm really confused how people are against Hui so much, but I don't see the same sentiment about Kim Ji Woong. It's not like he is just an actor, he also had some years of experience as an idol. So he is both popular BL actor and was a professional musician.
Also Girls Planet had debuted idols. Yujin who ranked 3rd was literally a member of CLC (a group that was under Cube just like Pentagon and was quite popular). So obviously the line is not clearly defined. I don't know ONE survival show like that truly had only trainees as participants.
Other Girls planet participants who already debuted/had fanbases:
Kang Ye Seo - debuted twice AND is an actress
Cai Bing is part of Chinese girl group
Chiayi was part of the girl group before the show...
I'm not gonna look for more, but I'm sure there are quite a few.
So if for you the line is "never debuted" then literally none of the shows are for you, because all of them have people who already made their debut in them
