the performance as a group was pain (oof some high notes π€£), but my dude Park Han Bin did amazing. Show some love maybe pretty please? π₯²
I agree with all your points, tho it never tried to present itself as a "psychological thriller" - it's neither in the genre nor the tags, so I would not put it against it for not delivering what psychological thriller should. Since it's simply not one.
But Yeo Reum... in the context of her situation, her motivations, her relationship with Bom - there was no reason for her to be on grandma's side and not Bom's. that part of writing just annoyed the fuck out of me it was so illogical.
Most likely there will be 2 more seasons.
I don't know... I feel like they did not know how realistic they wanted to make it, so we have some scenes that are hard to watch and really realistic, but then some dumb and exaggerated that I cannot take them seriously. The contrast just bothered me. That said, I feel like the fans ruined the show too much for me as I was watching π€£ for a slice of life show the fandom was hella toxic.
My biggest issue was how unlikable majority of the characters were. For a drama with little to no real plot (which i am 100% fine with and enjoyed many similar shows), I need to like and connect to the character to appreciate whatever is shown on screen π
I'd be pissed if Kamden was excluded when someone else was the leader, because then it's that leader's job to include everyone and control the members. I would be even more on the fence if Kamden became the leader out of pressure and was not sure if he can manage the position, But he literally said he knows he can do well π€‘
I'm telling you, they cannot edit out Krystian anymore since now we have team battles and they have to show all teams practice, he was relatively popular with ZERO screen time so they are trying to ruin his image so he will drop in ranking. Mnet wants to have 2 token foreign members in the team to show how "open and progressive" they are, but keep the majority of the group Korean to show how superior Korean trainees are Β―\_(γ)_/Β―
It's like Kill This Love team - Hwan Hee was "the leader", but Geon Wook was leading.
1. Whoever says there is a limit to evil editing - no there is not π€£ Editing can frame anything in any way the editor wants. The "well, he had to say it for them to edit it in the first place" - sure. He might have also said it in a completely different context and then mnet put it in as if he was always cutting Kamden when he spoke. There was only one full shot scene showing it happen, and that is the only one I truly believe happened exactly as it was shown Β―\_(γ)_/Β― So that's about the editing part - we have no idea what really happened, and I have ZERO trust in mnet showing the real incident.
2. Kamden should not be the leader, because he is not fit for the role. Leader's job is literally controling the members and making sure everything goes smoothly. But he did not try to control Krystian at all. Even if I assume Krystian was a massive dick, a mean asshole, it's still Kamden's job to deal with him for the sake of the team. And it is possible. I watched YWY3 good 3 times, with good leadership, Krystian is a harmless child. The first time Krystian started talking in Chinese, he should have stopped him and tell him to use English. Better yet, Krystian obviously wants to be in the spotlight - make use of that. Ask him to help with the communication between him and the Chinese members. Krystian is like the naughty kid in the classroom. You give him a "role" as the teacher's helper to make him feel important and busy, so they cannot cause any issues.
3. Conspiracy theory time coz it's always fun - Mnet intentionally wanted to make Krystian the villain, because he was never "their pick to debut", but he was popular even with ZERO screentime. I mean, dude was ranking 22 when all the episodes ever showed of him was seconds of his reactions to other performances. It was easy to edit him out in the first episodes, because they never show all performances during the first ranking. But now, with team battles, whenever they like it or not, they would have to show some of him. They don't want people to like him and vote for him, so they only option was to make him look like a dick.
4. This whole issue and how other teams picked their leader just shows how clueless these kids are π€£ There was literally only one team that discussed who should be the leader is a way that made sense - Hot Sauce. Two people volunteer and then they talked about why they qualified for the role - being member of a student council (which means knowing how to deal with people, plan and deal with potential issues and conflicts) and being the leader/leading the team they came here for the audition (which basically means they already have experience in being the leader).
Hui for some strange reason is not confident in his voice. He thinks all he has are his extremely high notes, but it's not true. He actually has a really unique voice and he also can add this rock spin to it. He does not need to belt these high even for a female key notes, he is good enough without them.
