It is unfair to diss a drama in a review when you only watched 3 episodes. A professionnal movie critic would never do this. You are not the first and you won't be the last person on MDL doing it.
As @heilin said all your grievances are resolved in the following episodes of the drama. So this is misleading.

From the start, ML's busive behaviour was just about what he was saying but his actions were the cutest. When I saw the beautiful ring he gave to his so-called stand-in or hostage on episode 1 or 2. I knew he was bluffing.

I watched the whole show and I loved it. First I was shocked by how abusive everyone around FL treated her and also how ML's words were harsh. And then I noticed ML's behaviour and I knew all this was a show. I then remembered that he has a high political position so I knew he held a lot of secrets. This helped me understand him during the show.

So it might seem a toxic relationship, but just look ML's actions and you'll see that he is the cutest from even episode 1. At least this is what I saw from the start. This is why I never hated him.
i.e. : Did you notice the marvelous wedding band he gave her? To you, does it seem to be a ring someone would give to his hostage?

"Why didn't they run the murderer over with the car? " They could not. The kidnapper was a meter away from them. They could not hurt him. I thought about it too. But I saw the distance. It was impossible.

To me FL was afraid of love and she did all she could to focus on her job. Until Shen Du won her over. She was the most annoying but I focus my experience on Shen Du and the investigation.

Indeed, FL is always sulking or childish. Ding is marvellous playing Shen Du. But FL is annoying and her friend Chui Chui with the child voice is also annoying.

This is indeed sad for Su Yin who could not move on. It is beautiful and sad at the same tie, if I think of him. It reminds me of another drama in which FL chose to stay in the game.

I suppose that the all crew was rushed to finish the filming too. Is it because of the network? No clue. But I am glad her statement confirms my suspicion : they cut the previous work they made. Because I couldn't believe that with such great writting since episode 1, the last episode would be so different from the whole show. I am reassured. They are good writers and crew.

Secondly, The drama wasn't about Sa Eon's "development and learning to over come" his upbringing. It would be a psychological drama. No, it is a thriller.
The drama was a spy game during which Sa Eon never talked because he was holding a lot of secrets and he was playing aginst an invisible mastermind.
So yes he regretted. But regretting isn't healing.
In real life people have regrets about their life an then they make suicide attempts.
Sa Eon went to punish himself, the same way those people try to die. This is why this character is so well written. He is very human.

I am not trying to convaince you. This is my opinion.
I just reacted to your review because I felt that the Sa eon you depicted was emotionless and one-dimensional. He was not the very human-like Sa Eon that I watched in the drama.

Yes but more than that. I got the impression they released the drama sooner than expected or they told the writers that they had to finish at the last minute.

I suspected that. Indeed they rushed episode 12 because they had to finish the filming for airing schedule. Too bad.

You just disregarded that Sa Eon had a trauma at a very young age. And he was harrassed all his life after that. So his reactions of self punishment is human and understandable.
The critic you are making would make of him an emotionless robot.

As for the hostage liberation in Argan. This is not how the events are depicted in the novel. They rushed the ending in one episode. In my opinion, they should have extended the plot over 3 episodes to narrate the journey of Heejoo as a volunteer in the school and the rest of the story.

Yes, they summurized the Argan arc in 1 episode and this is the only big flaw of the show.
