The spice is the best part
The storyline was pretty mid. Nothing too crazy exciting, if anything a little strange but interesting. The spice was wonderful. Honestly, it's the best part of the series. I think the chemistry between the actors was pretty good too, which always helps in the spicy scenes. I have rewatched it a couple times so it's quite enjoyable. Was this review helpful to you?
The young couple stole the show
The things I adored1 The young ML. He was gorgeous and also a great actor. I felt everything he felt whether it was pain or joy. He did a wonderful job showing his feelings and he was also a great character. He had chemistry with the young FL. One of the best couples I've ever seen.
2 The young FL. What a luminous actress. She embodied her role perfectly. She had great chemistry with the young ML and she also managed to make me feel everything she felt. I wanted them together so much. I cried quite a few times, I laughed as well. The best part of this drama was the young couple.
3 I love the concept of high school sweethearts meeting again later in life. It didn't deliver what I was hoping because of the main couple, but still, the theme is one of my favorites and the story was quite good.
4 The last scene. It was the perfect ending. I just had to close the eyes and imagine the young couple there.
The things I loved
1 The script. It was believable to me and except for some silly parts it was good. Overly dramatic as well for some things but a solid script nevertheless.
The things I liked
1 The 2 ML. I didn't care about his relationship with the FL, but all in all he wasn't a bad person. He was decent and had an interesting backstory.
2 The friendship between the FL and the 2 FL. I liked how supportive she was and open and honest.
3 Some of the school members. They were funny and cared.
4 How the story ended with the rivalry between the grandfathers.
The things I disliked
1 The ML. Difficult to put him on the "disliked list" when I liked the whole drama but he was completely wrong for the role. The comparison with the young ML doesn't help either. If another actor was playing this role this drama would be almost perfect. But he didn't have the physique and the wittiness to carry the role. At least the way it was written, with the rivalry and the silly bets etc. I love that kind of silliness but he couldn't deliver. Sometimes he was okay especially after they got together when he started smiling more. But he still lacked the charm his role needed.
2 The FL. She was wrong cast as well. The witty, luminous character the young FL displayed was nowhere to find. And yes, I get that the went through a lot and couldn't be the same person, but still. She wasn't charming or beautiful enough to embody the character well. Actually the couple had he same issues. They were good together, but not for this kind of role. Both are average, both look way older than the 36 year olds they're supposed to play, and both tried too hard to be funny. Some of the expression the FL had were awful. She didn't play well the charming, quirky, dynamic lead. The young couple carried the story to be honest. She was better when she started smiling, but not enough to save the role. I'm surprised by such a bad casting when they nailed the casting of the young couple.
The story about the other kids at school. To be honest i didn't care at all.
2 The second couple. Didn't care either. The actor was too old and haggard and the actress could do better.
The things I hated
1 The way the FL dressed. So unflattering, and the worst wedding dress I've ever seen in my life in movies and actual life. What the heck was that?
2 The wench who played the supposed friend. I hate the actress in all her dramas, that's given. But here I hated the way no one hold her responsible. What the actual heck? Why the FL would give her a free pass? What she did was despicable and she did it again. it's not like the learned her lesson, like she regretted. She just backed down when she didn't have a choice. Are we supposed to believe that any person who'd lose 18 years of happiness with someone and went through painful moments because of her would let her off the hook so easily? And even if that person exists how is that normal? How is it normal to destroy someone's happiness and to never face the consequences. Despicable as I said on all levels.

I'd be a liar if I said it was good
It was cute and a little goofy, so if you don't mind that you'll probably like it! The concept was a little different which it made it fun. The actors did a great job, and I thought the chemistry was decent. Always love seeing Min Hyun! The show was a little boring to be honest, it felt like not a lot was happening sometimes. Was this review helpful to you?
I would pass on it
Very classic Kdrama romcom. Nothing too special about it but not the worst. I think it's quite slow paced and was even a little boring at times. I liked seeing Eunwoo in it! He's the reason I watched it honestly. There were moments that were fun to watch. Overall, I don't really recommend because there are just a lot better drama's out there. Was this review helpful to you?
Chang An Er Shi Si Ji is a drama that stays with you long after the final episode ends.
This is not an easy or fast-paced watch. It does not rely on convenience or quick emotional rewards. Instead, it asks for patience and attention, slowly unfolding its story through silence, careful observation, and layered strategies. The deliberate pacing and lack of unnecessary spectacle give the narrative depth and weight.
One of the strongest aspects of the series is Cheng Yi’s performance. His portrayal is restrained, mature, and emotionally controlled, relying on subtle expressions and quiet intensity rather than dramatic excess. It is a performance that anchors the entire story and elevates the drama as a whole.
Revenge, the core theme, is depicted as cold and calculated rather than heroic or triumphant. The characters exist in moral gray zones, shaped by circumstance and forced into choices that carry lasting consequences. Every decision matters, and every sacrifice feels meaningful.
The ending remains true to the tone of the series—quiet, heavy, and emotionally resonant. It does not seek spectacle, but closure, reinforcing the idea that some things cannot be undone, only brought to an end.
For its intelligent writing, atmospheric storytelling, and powerful lead performance, Chang An Er Shi Si Ji fully earns a 10/10. It is a historical drama that rewards patience and leaves a lasting impression.

More vampires that don't act like vampires
This was okay. I wish people would stop making vampire stuff if they're not going to go fully into it with the blood sucking and biting. The chemistry between the main two was okay but not the best. Same with their kissing/spicy scenes, they were just mid. None of the characters were super enjoyable either and the big twist was super predictable. Was this review helpful to you?
I want Song Kang as my demon boyfriend
Loved this! Watched it for Song Kang but fell in love with the series and with You Jung! So happy it was as popular as it was! Loved seeing everyone talk about it as it was airing and loved to be a part of that. The chemistry between the main two was out of this world!! I need these two in series together again. I loved the story and could've watched so much more! Was this review helpful to you?
I have a crush on black dragon too
The story was cute and quirky! Love both of these actors so I was excited to see them in something together. The chemistry was better in interviews than it was in the show to be honest, but in the series, it was fine too. Not the best, not the worst. There were a few moments that were annoying but not too many. Very funny and cute series! Was this review helpful to you?

And she got, she got away
I just finished this all in one go, so go me! This show was nothing like I was expecting, but I did enjoy it. I just think they could have done more with the ending. I would give it an 8.5 out of 10. I'm going to say what I liked, what I didn't like, and my overview.I haven't finished a show all in one go like that in a while. That's crazy. So I am going to start with the fact that they aren't actually cousins because one of them is adopted. We find that out at the end, and that is a positive! Yeah. I think they are both good-looking, especially (I am going to look at character names instead of doing vague descriptions of what they look like, lmao) Jeong Han. He was so attractive, like and as the show went on and on, he got hotter, I swear to god. Going off that, I liked how I could actually see the texture of their skin in this. I am such a slut for that I can't even lie to you. That just really brought this show home. They have chemistry, I think it's good, but it is lowkey power dynamic heavy, which I didn't really like, but I think they pulled it off well. Uh, yeah, they also had a nice height difference, which I am always a big fan of. Going on the reason why most people and I started this, their sex scenes. I think the first couple of episodes were full of them, and then they died out towards the halfway point as they went more into the dynamics of the family and all that. I think that everyone in this did a great job, and they are great actors, like we brought this shit home, holy fuck. Jeong Han is so aggressive, and we know my woke ass always has a problem with that, but I was so into it in this, and I don't know why. He was lowkey toxic at the start, but it was this weird kind of addicting. I don't know how to explain it. Also, the plot. I AM A SLUT FOR A GOOD PAY ME BACK WITH YOUR BODY KIND OF THING (WE ARE GOING TO BLAME OURAN HIGH SCHOOL FOR THAT). I think that they did a good job on that, like a very good job. Also, love the character development from both of our main characters. Jeong Han became less and less aggressive and more kind, and you could especially see it in the actor's eyes. He started off with this very soulless look, and I couldn't tell what he was thinking or feeling, but in the end, you could really see it, and his eyes in themself told their own story, and that was great. Also, IlJo. I think his character was a fucking pushover the entire time and very submissive, but he came all the way around, especially at the end, and I enjoyed that. The whole thing with the brother added so much plot, and I was so into it. I do wish they went a little more into the whole him trying to drug and come on to his brother because that was lowkey so fucking interesting, it had me at the edge of my seat (not really, I am in bed, trying to read the subtitles while also eye fucking everyone in this show, including the sexy ass dad). I also like those nosey ass girls in the office, they were my favorite characters lmao. Okay, I actually liked the romance building in this. I mean, not at the end, but throughout the show, I thought it was good. Like the way they jumped from one-sided to two-sided, to just whatever was so fun, and I loved how they showed how head over heels both of them got, but especially Jeong Han got, now that was fun. This show was also very crisp with their sounds, I liked that lol.
EVEN THOUGH THEY AREN'T BIOLOGICAL COUSINS, WE ONLY FIND THAT OUT AT THE FUCKING END. Like, I do not care if they think their cousins, y'all could have told us, bro. I wouldn't have told anybody. Usually, there is another couple or some other plot to take my mind off weird shit like that, BUT IT WAS THE ENTIRE PLOT. EVERY SINGLE THING RELATED BACK TO THE FACT THEY WERE COUSINS AND IT WAS HARD AS FUCK TO IGNORE, I CAN'T LIE TO YOU. Fuck, we could have done that better. Also, their GNARLY power dynamic at the start. Now that was bad. It felt very forceful and just crazy. And I mean, I love that, but only so much of it, and it just became way too much way too fast. Jeong Han being so fucking possessive like he owned him as an object or a sex slave was weird. Like he does comes around, but I feel like we could have written that a little better. Jeong Han's fucking dad. A GREAT AND SEXY CHARACTER AND MAN, BUT THEY NUKED HIM. Like they hyped him up so much for all of this big stuff, and then they mention him for 30 seconds in the final episode, like Oh yeah, he kicked my ass, but now I can go abroad. Like what? They should have made this two more episodes, and I think that it would have been perfect. Segwaying into my thoughts on the ending. It was bad. I can't lie. Like the whole thing with Iljo wanting to finish high school, college and get a hobby, like that felt so fucking random and I feel like we should have talked about that more throughout the show instead of just dumping that randoming at the end and same with Jeong Han, like they should have made it so it was clear from the start that he wasnt going to take over his dads company, I mean they tried, but it just didnt work. Overall, I think the ending was too focused on all of the other characters in the show that were introduced, and not our main couple. Like what? I mean, the connection with the kids was cool, but also not. I think they should have done more with our couple, instead of oh, I'm sick, oh, I'm here, here's an awkward hug, and we are gonna flirt and then end the show, like run me my fucking money, I swear to god. Up next, the shop owner. BRO, HOW DID WE GET SO CLOSE TO HIM? I DO NOT UNDERSTAND? Also, did he want Iljo, or not? Like, what was his purpose besides just fucking around in my fucking face? Get his sexy ass off my screen, I swear to god. They needed to write his character out better, or just not at all, NEXT. It rained twice. Why is it called Thundercloud Rainstorm? Can we get some more rain, or what? NEXT. I think they should have connected the overall show with the start better, like we did one flashback that connected the two, but other than that, we didn't do any of that, and that lowkey pissed me off, I can't lie to you. Just no, like so much potential, this just wasn't long enough. The pacing at the start and at the very end; the rest of the show was fine. They started off by jumping the gun all the way, and that pissed me off. And then at the end, they jumped the gun again, and I am like, let's just stop. We started to fast with the romance, and then we ended to slow with the romance, like how does that even make sense? My final thing is the flipping around, the chasing, and the one-sided love. Like it went from Iljo and then to Jeong Han because Iljo is like I dont know if I really like you, like that was fun until it wasn't, and then it just became fucking around in my face. PISSED ME ALL THE WAY OFF. They had way too many plot points in this, I swear to god, I don't know why, but we needed to pick one and make sure it wasn't related to them being cousins lmao.
Oh my god, this review is so long. Okay, let's look at my episode thoughts. "He is very sexy in pain, I fear. 3k is a lot, holy fuck. "Pay with your body." Very forward. A little bit of a random plot, I can't lie to you. This show is very crisp-sounding. They are cousins, but it could be worse lmaooooo. What is this show even about lmao?" "100,000 WON A DAY, YOUR BROKE ASS BETTER LIKE THOSE FUCKING FLOORS CLEAN." "Got up to kiss him like he was clocking in to the 9 to 5. I can't tell if they have chemistry, I really can't." "I can't lie, I am having fun, but confused." "Like I understand the paying him back with his body plot, but I dont understand the other plots, like with the start and then with the coffee guy, like why was he shaking when he picked up the phone?" "If he's easy, you are ignorant." "I am so addicted, I can't lie. "We're cousins." DONT CARE. Lmao, I am just ignoring that part." "The pacing of this is so crazy, what the hell. The whole scene with the older brother was really cryptic, and I dont have a clue what any of that meant if I'm being honest lmao. Something in the bloodline, because why is everyone gay? Seeing him all battered and bruised opened his eyes, apparently." "GOT ME CLUTCHING MY PEARLS AND SHIT IF ONLY THIS WASN'T SO DARK. YESSSS THE ONE TIME I NEED YOU TO PUT YOUR HANDS ON SOMEONE. Damn, daddy's hot too, oh my god. OH MOMMA YO DAD HOT. What the hell? Rich people problems." "YAYYYY THEY ARE NOT COUSINS!!! HE IS ADOPTED, I REPEAT THEY ARE NOT COUSINS, IT IS A BLESSED DAY."
Rushed ending, but yeah, I would say watch it because it's so short. Okay bye!

Beautiful man is eternal!
Love this series and these two characters so much! It's one of my favorite BL's out there and I've rewatched it multiple times. This movie didn't disappoint either! Their chemistry is amazing, the spice is once again incredible. I love how over the two seasons and this movie we got to see their relationship grow throughout the years! So sad this series is over! Was this review helpful to you?
A little toxic but I don't care
Still loved it like season one, but I wish we got to see just a little more development between the two of them. While we got a good story arc and development between them in season one, it was lacking in this season. I love seeing them and their story together and this season was missing just a bit of that. They were also a bit more toxic this season, but to be honest I was kind of here for it. Still loved it overall and again the spice is just so good! Was this review helpful to you?
Obsession of a Genuinely In-loved
I got tired of ML abusing the FL or cheating against her then the series of revenge from the offended FL so I tried to search for new formulas. I accidentally found this drama about the handsome CEO - ML very obsessed with the poor but very beautiful FL I am not disappointed at all. The ML played by Chen Rui Feng is perfect for the role of the possessively obsessed young, handsome CEO who is all out to win the FL to be his alone. The FL is very beautiful with such a kissable lips that I can say it is justifiable that the ML is so obsessed of her.Looking at the face of the ML, his slender and long legs as well as torso and his kissable lips I was telling myself the FL is crazy for running away from him. Hihihi... On the other hand, I admire the FL because she is strong-willed. She allowed herself to be hired by the ML only to pay for her own tuition fees abroad which is always very expensive. Then afterward, she strongly resisted the sexual advances of the ML because she wanted to be free from being "For Hire" and live as a young, dignified professional. She understands well that their differences in social status is so wide and the obsession of the ML is only making her a sex object and not a manifestation of love at all. She wanted to be loved genuinely and not to be a mere sex toy anymore.
The dedication given by the ML to the FL is so praiseworthy. He was consistently helping and protecting. What I do not understand is that the FL seems to be very easy to believe other people rather than the ML who has loved her so much. She was easily fooled by the scumbags.

Beautiful men and a beautiful story
I LOVED this story so much! The chemistry between the actors is really good. I think they did really well with autism as well as being with someone who has autism. Kiyoi had me so smitten throughout this series. I loved seeing the relationship between him and Hira grow throughout the show. The spice is pretty good too!Was this review helpful to you?
Mr. Sahara was so cute ngl
This was a cute and fun series! They didn't take anything too far either which is good since it is a student-teacher relationship. It did get a little slow and even a bit boring in the second half which is why I had to rate it a bit lower than I originally would've while starting the series. I still liked it but wasn't the best. Was this review helpful to you?
Had the cry of a lifetime to this show
I LOVED THIS! This got recommended to me by a friend and I'm so glad they did! I cried, I laughed and just about felt every emotion watching this! I love the main three actors in this as well and have seen them all in a few other things. This show is a perfect mix of comedy, romance, and tragedy. Emphasis on the tragedy. Definitely not a lighthearted story but I cannot recommend enough! Was this review helpful to you?
