Newtopia : 03/13/2025 - 03/16/2025

I actually really enjoyed this show and it's one of my favorite shows to rewatch. The zombie aspects were nice, and I like how it has liked a system even though it was a little dumb. Like what do mean alcohol can numb the virus. I also love the romance aspect and how the MC did have problems but worked so hard to find each other. It truly showed how much they cared for each other. Also, I liked the fact that not everyone died by becoming a zombie, it showed how real and harsh this world is. Like many other shows I hope it gets another season because there are so many unanswered questions, like what happened in the subway.

This show leaped its way right into my heart

I love Dew and Pond so much, so I was very happy to see them both in this! Fell in love with Gun and Pahn watching this as well. All the acting in this was fantastic but I have to give the biggest shoutout to Gun. He absolutely killed this role! I loved the chemistry they all had on screen together and loved watching all the different relationships grow throughout the show.

This show had such a cool concept, and I loved trying to figure out the mystery of it all. It was cool seeing how the different boys dealt with the leap day curse as well. I just absolutely loved this show and was pretty happy with how it all played out too! I looked forward to the new episode every week and was so sad when it was over!

This was a rain on my parade

This was cute but I really didn't care for the love interest at all. I don't know if it was the character or the actor because I'm not a huge fan of Pat's acting to be honest, maybe it's a mix of both. This story is definitely more mature than some BL's in the way that it doesn't do the whole soulmate thing and more is just two people meet and start dating like it would happen in the real world. So, it was nice to watch something that was a bit different in that sense, but I just didn't care for it overall.

The SERIOUS DFWM Moment

I haven't even finished this drama and stopped to give my quick heads-up about it.

Here it is in the middle of the night and I am nearing the end of ep 11, thinking "Oh no, how is he going to answer for this!?", and Kang Pil-Ju gets a serious don't eff with me moment that literally had me sitting up going OHHHHH, waking up the whole house.

I gotta get back to it.. But, yes it has it's lull moments. If you are into the chaebol 'old geezer conglomorate/ office running theme' then this one is for you.

I'm here as a huge Jang Hyuk fan. He can do no wrong whether he is in a comedy, period drama or modern like this one.

Both are succesfully make this plot watchable

I am not a fan of this plot and i give try to watch it for Guo Yuxin and Ma Xiao Yu. Their acting and chemistry was good so it was satisfying to watch. Few of supporting casts are not too good so it was my biggest letdown to this story. The ending was satisfying and i rewatch again if i want to get decent angst feeling from FL.

No Hate, Hu Jia Hao was miscast in this drama

I watch Wang Jin-Hu Jia Hao first and although i liked Hu Jia Hao but for the characterization he was miscast because he lacks of uncle charm even with older makeup it wont help either. I just seeing him just someone young who pretend to be older. The kissing scene was intense but there is lack of chemistry between them. But for the plot, i quite like it more than Wen Moyan-Wang Daotie version.

We love a romance with character development!

Initial Review at the half way point (12/30/25):

I shouldn’t love this drama. It’s so far from my normal vibe. But here I am 18 episodes in and can’t get enough.

Pros:

* Slice of life done right — I am not a fan of this genre. It typically feels boring to me. I truly can’t say what makes this different, but it has this engaging storyline that keeps you wanting more… more of our leads, more of the backstories, more of the subplots… It’s an absolutely charming story of healing and love.
* Chemistry for days — As of right now, our leads are not officially together, but they’re on the verge of it. I can’t stop grinning at their interactions and chemistry. These two can tease and flirt so naturally. I’m obsessed. Plus our ML is a walking green flag and we love to see it.
* Our leads — I find our two leads so charming. Xiguang is such a relatable FL. She is strong when she needs to be, but she has her breaking points. Watching her journey has been amazing. Yusen is equally amazing. Leave it to SWL to give us yet another Woolworth male lead who is fleshed out and so well-acted.

Cons:
* College friends — I’m so glad we don’t have to deal with these pieces of work very often. They are so unbelievably annoying. I like them in the first two episodes, and that’s it.
* Where to begin with the SML — Our second male lead is hard to describe. You ship him with the FL at the beginning, then you hate his guts, then you feel sorry for him. He is truly a complex character. I’m not entirely sure he’s truly a con on this list or not. Right now, he’s infuriating me, but something in me still wants him to find love with someone new. Who knows how I’ll feel in the second half?

All in all, this first half was solid. Nervous because we have another 18 episodes to go, but if it keeps this trajectory, then this show is shaping up to a be a hit.

Final thoughts:

“Shine on Me” just a joy to watch. It takes you on quite the journey. The second half was excellent. It delivered us a phenomenal couple to root for, squeal over, and invest in. This also has one of the best happy endings of any show. It wraps up things very well.

It wasn’t perfect. It should have been a few episodes shorter. Some of the pacing was a bit too slow for my taste so I did get a bit bored sometimes. Also I would have liked to see the SML’s story go a different and more healing direction, but overall, I enjoyed it.

Not much else to say. It was a great drama to wrap up the year.

Wished they toned up melodrama feeling.

I was tired when another Simen Lichen-Jiang Wan Zhi adaptation and when i was on Ke Chun fever i tried to watch.
OK The Chemistry between Ke Chun and Zhai Yi Ying is fine. But the things that i don't like they want to make this version is lean on Melodrama which is unnecessary thing to do. Perhaps if you like angst feeling you'll tend to like this but for my preference i don't get that part.

Ready, Set, Love : 01/18/2025

I watched this show because it had a unique concept and I was really intrigued to what it was. I honestly didn't even think I was going to like it, but I actually did. It is a little awkward at times with some of the scene's kind of being weird and a little awkward but if you can get past them the show is actually really good. Also, the romance was actually really adorable, like how the once the two MC got together, they really showed their devotion for each other. I also like the plot of showing how corrupt the government was and how they pretend to actually care for the people but where only supporting their own Interest. Also, the ending leaves such a big cliffhanger, and I really hope they decide to make another season.

Title: Xie Jing Mo De Man Chang An Lian (2025) is a cute romance comedy miniseries with Li Ke Le (as Xie Jing Mo) and Zhao Xi (as Yu Zhi Wan) in the leading couple’s role. The story is an adaptation from the web novel "Ta You Liao You Cha! Bei Jie Ao Da Lao Chong Dao Huai Yun" written by Jiang Wen Yu.
The cast did a nice job bringing their characters to life and the leading couple had a cute chemistry but there are no intimate moments in their romantic interactions and both leads sounded more as reciting their parts without little emotions. Cuteness is the overall feel for this drama.
In the meantime, this drama can be found in YouTube under the caption: “After I dumped scum, the CEO, known for avoiding women, suddenly proposed to me” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bchoCIQiIc4) or “Her fiancé kissed another woman in front of her, she turned around to married his rival,he regretted” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pwin1tzxZAM)

Healing and stunning cinematography

I'm late to another beautiful drama, had to give this one a review. This is a mature drama about cinema expertly interwines romance, gentle love, pain, and comedy, offering a truly memorable viewing experience. The writer has invested great care in developing each character, giving them unique backstories and personal struggles as they pursue their own paths. I found myself resonating deeply to some of the stories, especially those involving grief, heartbreak, and the yearning for emotional support from loved ones. Throughout the drama, I laughed and cried, but most importantly, I felt a sense of healing.

A lot of nostalgic from the 90's like the VHS tape/VCR. The cinematography is so stunning, great work from the director. The performances from the female lead, male lead, and the entire cast are outstanding, bringing each character to life with genuine depth and emotion, showcasing the complexities of the human heart.

Squid Game Season 2: 01/03/2025 - 01/04/2025

While I didn't like this season as much as the first, I still really enjoyed watching it. I do feel at times that it missed the mark, but I guess it makes sense for not everything to be explained during this season since season 3 will be immediately following it. Beside that I liked how the first games were the same to give a sense that things are the same just for each game after that be-to-be different. I also liked how the MC was still human in the fact he was easily tricked by #1 even despite what happened the previous season. The only complaint I do have is that it seemed they were afraid to kill characters that mattered this season, but I guess it to allow us to get more connected to them and learn more about them. Also, that ending was a major cliffhanger with so many things needing to be answered in the last episode.

Mr. Plankton: 11/15/2024 - 11/17/2024

The ending to this show is shown at the very beginning but that doesn't make it hurt any less. Like by the end of this show I was still a sobbing mess. If anything, I think showing it at the start makes the whole show hurt much more. This being because every happy scene you think about the ending that you saw at the start. The show itself is as also really good, you get to see the ML and FL fall in love all over again, you also get to the 2ML find himself. Everything was done perfectly and felt real in sense that it flowed so naturally. While there was obviously thing to dramatize it the show still showed real things. Overall, I really love this show and even knowing that I will cry watching it I will gladly watch it over and over again.

Decent Heartwarming Story.

I watched this since i love Jia Yixuan work even i personally don't like her pair with Wang Yanxin (the most ironic he is the one the person who collaborates the most with Jia Yixuan) but i still quite like his acting i still watch this drama.

Compare to all of their works, i liked this drama since it less toxic. Maybe it's their redemption.

I like how they bring women workplace problem since FL was intern on her final year as doctor student. The antagonist are quite distracting but we got more sweet moment for couple

The things that i don't like ML was not straightforward while he actually like FL from the start and make some useless action (even though he didn't cheat,i think he is little coward in here)

The ending was okay but it feels too plain for my liking since i like secret love troupe.

Recommended to watch if you haven't got drama list.

Absolutely Adorable

I wasn’t expecting to enjoy this drama so much, but I’m glad I watched it! I love Lee Sung Kyung, and the ensemble cast was so great.

Story wise, it was interesting to get a behind the scenes perspective from industry people and the things they have to deal with on a daily basis. It brought a lot of humanity to celebrities and PR workers. Some of the side plots were interesting too, but came second to life in the office.

As much as I adored Gong Tae Song’s character, I wish we got more on Oh Han Byeol. There were hints of her character, but we never learned who she was beyond her job or relationship. Lee Sung Kyung felt a bit underutilized in that aspect.

Overall, it was enjoyable. All the supporting cast were wonderful too, and I fell in love with all the characters. I would maybe put this one on again if I need a pick me up.
