From Chanbara Promise to Death-Game Recycling
Everyone online is calling this the ‘next great samurai series,’ but let’s be honest: it starts like real chanbara and ends as another recycled death game. The opening is excellent — clean framing, silence, iaijutsu-style movement, a duel over in seconds. Pure Kurosawa influence.
But as soon as the rules, numbers, VIP spectators and the ‘last-one-standing’ structure appear, the mysticism collapses.
It’s Squid Game in a kimono.
Not a bad show — just not new.
And for viewers who actually know classic samurai cinema (Inagaki, Mizoguchi, Kobayashi, Uchida, Kurosawa), this feels more like spectacle than substance.

Just Brilliant.
I know I’m late to this, but I at least wanted to put a review up here for somebody who might be considering it because they are new to K drama like me. I was not planning to watch this, I am more a fan of romance, I don’t usually do things that are considered action or thriller, and I didn’t know these actors. I am so glad I took the chance. This is brilliant. The only reason that I gave it a 9.5 on story is because I really felt the last two episodes were rushed and did not fit with the rest of the series. They could have ended it much better and I’m not sure what that was about, but it was a little bit disappointing. It takes nothing away from the actors who were wonderful and a joy to watch. there were some episodes that I literally think I didn’t physically move for the entire hour, it was that compelling. I have to call out Ji Chang-wook because he is unbelievable in this, his Clark Kent/Superman thing was spot on and this being the first thing I have seen him, I am looking forward to the next show that features him. He is fantastic. It’s a great story, it follows a lot of the tropes that K drama is used, but in a good way and in an exciting way, and in a way that you fall in love with the characters and the story rather quickly. Really really glad I watched this absolutely plan to rewatch one day.Was this review helpful to you?

Obscene story that praises adultery and betrayal by women
Another disgusting CDrama written by women feminists to encourage adultery and betrayal of husband/fiancée.This ridiculous story is set in the 1930s/40s, when betrayal by women would have resulted in severe punishment. But in this story everyone including the father of the fiancée is praising and helping the woman who is betraying his own son.
The female writers of China have lost their minds and have become total retards.

Uncut
We're only four episodes in so it's obviously slightly premature to be writing a review, but I felt ClaireBell deserves it just in case anybody is on the fence whether to watch this series. And to be honest, seeing how good it's so far, I have hard time believing they could f- this up too much. 😅🤞ClaireBell is really special, it's not just a phenomenal GL series, it's a phenomenal drama, period. The storytelling and acting is Hormones level good. The cinematography is up there with the best movies. The music is spot on awesome. The whole thing is obviously a labor of love from Davika and the awesome team she's gathered around her.
But, you really need to see the uncut version to appreciate it fully (available free on the OneD app/site). This version doesn't only have extended love scenes (even though there's that too 😅), each episode has 5-15 min of small extensions all over and even whole scenes that are completely missing from the TV/YouTube version that is limited to 45 min per episode. These additions do so much for the pacing that it almost makes the shorter version feel like the cliff notes recap in comparison.
Don't get me wrong, the TV/YouTube version is great if that's the only thing available to you. (Any ClaireBell is better than no ClaireBell after all. 😄) But since the uncut version is so easily accessible, I hope this will convince people that the extra effort is really worth it.
Addendum after completing the series:
ClaireBell didn't disappoint. It is unbelievably good, from beginning to end. The final episode is 1 hour and 15 min uncut, that's 30 min longer than the TV/YouTube cut (!). That's just ridiculous considering I wouldn't want to miss a single minute of it.

Should have ended at ep. 20
This one was entertaining and had some fun scheming going on. The villain was detestable enough for you to understand the FL motivation and root for her to win. However, the story goes off the rails after the main villain is dealt with. The introduction of another villain to now address the subplot of her brother with less than half of the episode time left felt rushed and unnecessary.
Had this ended at ep. 20, I would have rated it higher.

Very Underrated Series!
I'm not sure why is drama has such a low score in ratings. I found this series to be fantastic from start to finish. It has a touch of Mission Impossible blended in it, with the exception that these guys are doing everything for the bad, not the good. It really didn't matter to me, I found myself actually rooting for the bad guys, because they were so ingenious at scamming people, it was just fascinating in watching it play out.The main protagonists, Takumi & Harrision had such a coldness about them. They were perfectly matched as a professional scamming duo. They, along with the great supporting cast that made up the rest of their team, were truly brilliant.
Go Ayano did a great job as first making you hate him ... but then you find yourself rooting for him.
If there was ever a series to teach you a lesson in life, it's this one. It shows you that you really can't trust anyone in today's world, no matter how foolproof a situation looks ... don't be so sure.
Just an all around great series, filled with plenty of suspense and lots of deception.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 – A Heart-Stealing Gem!
Would You Marry Me is easily one of the most charming K-dramas of the year. Choi Wooshik and Jung Somin deliver unforgettable performances with chemistry so natural, it feels like you’re watching two souls genuinely fall in love. Their banter, quiet moments, and emotional depth make every scene glow. The story blends warmth, humor, and maturity in a way that feels both comforting and refreshing. It explores love, timing, and commitment without ever dragging or feeling cliché. The pacing is clean, the writing is heartfelt, and the cinematography is beautifully intimate.
This drama doesn’t just entertain—it lingers. By the final episode, you’ll wish you could watch Wooshik and Somin together forever. Truly a must-watch for romance lovers!

Slice of life, death , the complexity of relationships, with a happy ending
If you are looking for a drama that deals with heavy themes, is realistic, has independent, mature, tortured, yet beautiful characters going through life and comforting -growing with each other, this is the drama for you. A central theme of this drama is both death and renewal. How death is part of life and love/family, regardless how complex is is the real treasure. Several characters go through grief in their own way, and it does a wonderful way of showing how every generation, every person, has their own way of dealing with grief. There is romance, several lovely if complex family's, friends and a wonderful town filled with all kinds of characters. This is a very well named drama, as Spring always reminds me that even in the harshness of winter,....life always begins anew. 100% recommended

Must Watch thats all
If I had to rank my GL's Poisonous Love. is 9.9/10 for the amazing story and OST that suits it, then in 9+ range The Secret of US, Pluto, US and others... btw my absolute top one is The Root, becasue it tops the board for only one reason, becasye it always probes my imaginaiton for a better happier ending, Prem Pat sad scenes = the Grave Scene and Hair cutting scene in The Root, but still no happy ending, just sadness. One Bad thing is that Prem's parents acted too well, I hated them at one point LoL, but everything is okay, maybe that is the realism in it.

Lighthearted Fun
I'm more of a CDrama guy, but this KDrama hits the right buttons. However, let me warn you that one must give this drama some leniency in terms of plot. As others have mentioned, the premise behind their main misunderstanding in the first episode is one big, head-scratching eye-roll. I mean, the writers could have done better there. But they make it up by weaving stories of perseverance, comedy and redemption in the story arch of the charming and entertaining leads. The romance between them is definitely crackling with chemistry. The FL gives off down-to-earth, relatable vibes while ML balances those GQ-perfect looks with a wide emotional range and charming goofiness as opposed to the old tired cold and always composed demigod who can do no wrong.
The first episode gets things moving quickly and crescendos to a banger in the end that, without giving it away, encapsulates the series' title in a tantalizing way. Let's just say that the leads' chemistry shoots to the roof here. Overall, this is a good lighthearted drama that has you cheering for both leads. I also love how they both look after their mothers and closed ones. It's a home run!

A complete circle of life
If you’re in it for Xu Kai’s charm, you’ll get your eye-candy moments, but beyond that, this drama struggles to hold up. The plot feels like a stretched-out version of a standard rom-com, offering very little growth for the FL, whose character remains overly dependent and frustratingly immature throughout. The business storyline is weak, and the romance never fully delivers the emotional depth it promises. Add in the baffling “best friend breaking the sister code” subplot, and it’s hard to root for anyone.Overall — watch it only if you’re a Xu Kai fan, because the story itself won’t impress.
A business rom-com about Ji Xing and her college mate, Han Ting, who lost touch for 10 years. Han Ting had a crush on Ji Xing and confessed his love for her while he invested in her startup company.

healing and refreshing drama
Title: My Happy Pill Every Weekend: What WYMM Means to MeWould You Marry Me has meant so much to me that it even brought me back to Twitter after disappearing for many years ever since Seo Ye Ji’s last drama. I was hooked from the moment I saw the wedding poster of So Min and Woo Shik. It looked so romantic. But honestly, at first, I didn’t think they would have such great chemistry. I always saw Woo Shik as a cute, baby-faced, slightly spoiled guy, and during the early SBS promo clips he seemed so awkward around So Min. I told myself, “Let’s wait and see how their chemistry will feel once the drama airs.”
And from the very first episode… I was gone. I stayed active on X from the premiere until the final episode last week. Even now, I’m still on X every day because I miss Would You Marry Me so much. This is the first week without it, and honestly it feels empty. I haven’t moved on at all.
There are so many reasons why I love WYMM:
Woo Joo and Yoo Meri’s love story, they’re cute, adorable, funny, mature, understanding, and supportive of each other. Their first meeting was pure chaos, and every time I rewatch it I laugh like crazy. It’s unforgettable. Woo Joo’s personality completely hooked me, he’s such an attractive man, warm and sincere. And Meri is so pretty, sweet, and lovable, truly the person who brings him happiness.
I also fell in love with all the supporting characters. The second couple, Sang Hyeon and Jin Gyeong, were adorable, a cold man paired with the cute girl. Perfect balance. Meri’s mom and sister were incredibly cool, supportive, and loving. Woo Joo’s brother and mom were pure comedy; every time they showed up, I couldn’t stop laughing. Their facial expressions alone were enough to make any scene funnier.
Even Woo Joo’s ex, annoying as he was. Through him, we saw two very different versions of Woo Joo, the past and the present, and it made new Woo Joo’s love for Meri even clearer.
And the ending… It felt perfect. Every character received a satisfying conclusion. Meri’s calm, mature behavior toward her ex was so human. And Woo Joo and Yoo Meri’s happy ending, simple, warm, complete, was exactly what I needed. Some people say the characters could have been developed more, but for me, 12 episodes was perfect. The pacing was fast, meaningful, and never dragged. I loved every moment.
And I can’t ignore this: Woo Shik and So Min’s chemistry shocked me. It was intense, natural, fresh, the kind of chemistry you can’t fake. Same humor, same energy, same rhythm. It felt like they understood each other without trying.
That’s why I miss WYMM so much. It was my comfort, my escape, my happy pill after long and tiring work weeks. It made me laugh, relax, and feel peaceful. Even now, I still rewatch scenes every night. It’s my favorite comfort drama of the year, and I’m not ready to move on yet.
WYMM didn’t just entertain me, it gave me joy, warmth, and a sense of connection that stayed with me long after the credits rolled.

Needed WAY more merman plot!
When I saw how well done the special effects were for this show, I was actually really excited to start watching it. I feel like there have been more and more supernatural/fantasy shows coming out recently, and I'm a big fan of it in general. Unfortunately, this one really missed the mark for me! It seemed like the whole merman plot wasn't even relevant for most of the show, with a (frankly, uninteresting) romance being way more important. The show wasn't bad - there was the right amount of romantic conflict for the length of the show, and there were some interesting plot points that came up at the very end. However, if you're expecting a merman-filled drama, somehow this one isn't it.When Phurit moves to an island to co-own a bar, he hears legends about the mermen that once lived there, and assumes these are fairytales. Little does he know, the cute bartender Nawa that he's been flirting with is secretly a merman. Nawa has been warned time and time again that humans and merman can't fall in love, but that doesn't seem to be stopping him.
This is basically a Romeo and Juliet style forbidden romance - and genuinely, you could have replaced "merman" with just about any other reason to forbid a relationship and the plot would have gone the same way. Random merman lore was thrown in on occasion, but somehow never seemed all that relevant. Also, mermen hunters were brought up and were barely even an issue! They TOTALLY could have made this show about a merman and a hunter, or at least have one of the major conflict be between Nawa and a hunter. Instead, every plot point revolves solely around the relationship: the hunters just mean Nawa needs to "be more careful" and not see Phurit....okay I guess? This was so close to being a really interesting show, but unfortunately missed the mark by making it way too romance focused for a show that should include way more magical elements.
