I thought it would get better....
I wanted to give it 1-star, but gave it more cause of the main leads. They really really tried but the story couldn’t be saved....I dropped this drama at ep 10, came back, fast forwarded a lot of eps and managed to finally finish it and regret it. Why? Because I had really high expectations from this drama and was left utterly disappointed.
This isn't the actors fault, all of them are great. I have watched other dramas of Bai Lu and Joseph (who plays Mr. Bai) and they are great individually, but this drama wasn’t for them. The story was a messy puzzle.
The main characters Lord Siling and Mr Bai...what even? He betrays her, she stabs him and it goes on and on until the end of the drama. If there was a good story behind it all, I would still watch it. But this?
Why tf doesn't she wait for the guy to explain his side of the story? And then proceed with hating him? Through the starting eps until ep 21, I was so annoyed with Siling and the way she treated Mr Bai.
The one who first betrayed Heaven way was HER. She killed the drought dragon and then refused to bear the consequences? Wth?
Also they are supposed to be gods, supposed to be aloof, so why expect Mr Bai to feel sympathy for the humans every second of the day?
And the misunderstanding and miscommunication that drags on throughout the drama....damn....I don’t know what I was doing.
Also, why give so much screen time to the side characters? I understand showing more scenes of the second couple, but the third one? Fourth? Just why?
Anyways....I wouldn't recommend anyone watching this if they are looking for a good story. This is not for you. If you're looking for pretty faces, then yes, this drama is for you.
Watch for beautiful faces, costumes, scenery, CGI, but not for story, cause its boring af

Amazing story
Feud starring Bai Lu and Joseph Zeng is a captivating Xianxia drama that masterfully weaves together intricate plotlines, stunning visuals, and emotional depth. At its core, the story revolves around the tumultuous relationship between Hua Ruyue, played by Bai Lu, and Bai Jiusi, played by Joseph Zeng, two powerful immortals bound by fate yet torn apart by their complicated past. The drama expertly explores themes of love, loss, and redemption, evoking strong emotions from the audience. Bai Lu's portrayal of Hua Ruyue's pain, anger, and vulnerability is particularly noteworthy. Her character's emotional journey is complex and multifaceted, making it easy to become invested in her story.
Both leads deliver nuanced performances, bringing depth and complexity to their characters. Their chemistry is undeniable, making their tumultuous relationship all the more compelling. The supporting cast is equally impressive, with memorable performances that add depth and complexity to the narrative.
The drama's non-linear narrative structure adds to its emotional impact, slowly revealing the characters' backstories and motivations through flashbacks and plot twists. This approach keeps the viewer engaged and curious, eager to uncover the truth behind the characters' actions.
The cinematography and costumes are visually pleasing, capturing the tone of the story and immersing the viewer in the world of Xianxia. The drama's use of vibrant colors and stunning landscapes adds to its visual appeal, making it a treat for the eye
Feud is a standout Xianxia drama that will resonate with viewers who enjoy emotional, character-driven storytelling. With its intricate plot, stunning visuals, and powerful performances, it's a must-watch for fans of the genre. Bai Lu shines as Hua Ruyue, bringing depth and nuance to the character. If you're looking for a drama that will leave a lasting impact, Feud is an excellent choice.

A life walked cannot be erased
It’s no secret Bai Lu and Zeng Shunxi are two of my favourite Chinese actors, so when it was announced they would be working together I was really excited to see what kind of story they would share with the audience.Wuxia it’s not something that I usually watch, except when my bias are part of it and it the plot seems interesting. Thanks to Bai and Zeng and rethinking this stand, and might give the genre more of a change because this drama was really good.
Feud works on different levels of tribulations through its 32 episodes, for our leads and the audience. The world building is incredible thanks to a solid script that new exactly the story was going. This is a treat when I think that so many scriptwriters force the narrative upon their characters, leaving them with no choices and, as consequence, one dimensional. Every character in this story had choices, particularly the leads, and it was their decisions what pushed the story, never the other way around.
All of this made for rich character build, which must have been really fun for Zeng and Bai, and it shows in their performances. Never once I doubted them as the many instances of their love trial unfolded. Waiting patiently for their next move and wishing for reconciliation.
Thematically, this drama is great as it explores how our decisions have a wide range of consequences that can’t be taken them back. A life walked cannot be erased. We can only keep going and grow as people trying our best, hoping for another chance.

Love & Hate. Misunderstandings. Plot Twists. It had the potential but didn’t fully deliver.
This drama had such a potential with its uniquely set up plot but it sadly didn’t fully deliver. Honestly, I feel like Bai Lu and Joseph Zeng are the plot because I only finished this story for them. The main components of this drama is a mix of love & hate, misunderstandings, angst and plot twists. The drama is about the feud between the main leads, who are Gods created from the same source, similar to ying/yang.POSITIVE:
- Bai Lu and Joseph Zeng slayed. Their performance and on-screen chemistry was brilliant. In fact I’d say they are the plot! I finished the drama only for them. In fact, it was my first time seeing Joseph properly, and I’m now a fan!
- Second female lead. I went through so many emotions with this girl. I hated her, didn’t care for her, loved her. Her story appeared to be cliche at first but ended up being very unique. The daughter-father story arc was unexpectedly really well done.
- Plot twists. Ok I’ll give them that, the writers knew how to fool their audience. Usually in cdrama, they do this stupid stuff of showing everything the bad guys are doing. But this time, it was hidden and only in the finale episodes we got to see who the bad guy was.
- Nice angst. As a xianxia angst lover, the emotional scenes hit me hard and I loved it. But the rest… is another topic.
NEGATIVE:
- Plot/characters. My main issue with this drama is that the script spent so much time creating plot twists, that it neglected to properly fresh out its characters. In general, all the character's interactions (except the leads) felt like plot devices to reach the next plot point. The dialogue either was forced or lacked at certain scenes. There were many characters that popped up just for that one plot point and nothing else. For example, the Goddess of Time was so random. You could argue she was there because of the leads tribulation. Cool, but she still popped up out of nowhere to move the plot forward and then disappeared. Same with the God Elders (or whatever they were, it’s not like it was explained). I’m not asking for their whole backstory but at least show us something to make them look more real.
The plot twists were cool but at the same time the drama took TOO long to get to them. Most scenes, in between the twists, were kind of boring and draggy. The non-linear storytelling made the drama messy. There was a lot of back and forth with flashbacks, timelines etc. The issue wasn’t that it was hard to follow but that it took too long to get to the actual point. Hell, the female lead spent the whole 10 episodes pretending to be someone else. For what? It could have been done in 5 episodes. I get that the writers were banking on suspense and mind blowing twists but the way everything was set up ended up feeling artificial to me.
Another thing this drama focused on was tribulation and learning valuable lessons. Well, I know about human nature, I know about these lessons etc, it’s nothing new. What I wanted to see was characters who could resonate with me on a deeper/human level. And honestly, the only two that did were the female and second female lead. The male lead had the potential but he felt more like a background piece in the second half. The rest were more like cardboards.
- Second male lead as plot device. This annoyed me tremendously. His character had potential to be somewhat cool. But what did the writers do? They USED him for all the plot twists which made him feel like a shell of a character. Seriously, aside from being devoted to the female lead, he literally had zero personality and interests.
- Misunderstandings. Xianxia is known for this cliche trope. I usually don’t mind that but here it took most of the drama to get to it. The reveal of why there is a feud between the leads was delivered in a nice angsty style but at the same time not so shocking because it was literally shown in the trailer.
- Second couple = wasted potential. Instead of the guest couple (disciple-demon), that nobody cared about, I would have liked the focus to be on the second leads. Yes, it didn’t fit the story of them falling in love BUT IF the second female lead’s tribulation happened earlier, it would have left the door open for that too. Or at least friendship if nothing else.
- Visuals. They were decent but at the same time, the producer was totally stingy with the setting designs and CGI. And not even a special episode? Bai Lu deserved better.
- Side characters blah blah Literally nobody stood out, I didn’t care about anyone except maybe the healer Li Mo but even that is a stretch. The human sect disciples, all the immortals in the Nine Heavens, they were just plot devices.
- Dubbing. Minor annoyance for me but the leads being dubbed was criminal.
- Ending. It felt like a cheap trick to satisfy the audience. In general, the final episodes were very underwhelming with a random (but at least hot) villain and lackluster fight scenes. The fact that the male lead was barely there was criminal.
OVERALL:
This story had the potential to be the next Till the End of the Moon but it sadly didn’t deliver. I don’t like to compare but TTEOTM is still the best xianxia of Bai lu for me. In fact, I wasn’t a huge fan of Moonlight Mystique but it weirdly feels like it was more fleshed out. Both Feud and MM have their pros and cons so I feel they are on a similar level. Decent but not that great. I really wanted to love this drama as Bai Lu is my number one Queen. At the start, I was totally obsessed with the lead’s love story but somehow the second half got boring and the final episodes were a let down. In conclusion, it's hard for me to recommend this but if you love xianxia and Bai Lu, I guess give it a chance.

It's an eye-roll, type of angst.
At first, the only reason I even started watching Feud was because the two main leads are already written to be married.Honestly, I didn’t think the visual effects were that bad. The art direction—from costumes and set design to VFX and color grading—was decent. It’s obvious the budget was limited, but they managed it fairly well and made the most of what they had.
One of the first things that completely annoyed me, though, was the background music and sound effects. The timing was often off, and some sounds were just not fitting for the scenes—like sound effects for something as small as blinking (seriously?). It reminded me of Thai comedy dramas or variety shows where every tiny movement gets a sound. As for the OSTs, most were solid, except for one song: “Pluck the Stars” by Su Jiang Xin. I get that it’s meant to be emotional, but it was so distracting it pulled me out of the scenes entirely. Like, can it calm down for a second?
Now onto acting and characters. Bai Lu delivered, as always. That said, her character felt very similar to Jiang Xue Ning (Story of the Kunning Palace) and Li Su Su (Till the End of the Moon). I expected more of a shift in her character dynamic, but there were only slight differences.
Joseph Zeng really surprised me here, especially with his facial expressions—they added a lot of depth to his character. I first saw him in Mysterious Lotus Casebook, and Bai Jiu Si is quite the opposite of his role there, which shows his range.
The second male lead, though—Zhang Suan, played by Chen Xin Hai—was the most disappointing. The character is already written to be annoying, especially if you’re rooting for the main couple. But Chen Xin Hai brought nothing extra to redeem that. Honestly, his delivery felt so stiff. There was a huge disconnect between his lines and his body language. His face barely changed, and his attempt at subtlety just came off as flat and empty—as if he didn’t know how to act. On top of that, his complexion always looked dull and sickly on screen.
On the flip side, He Rui Xian as Fan Linger made a great first impression. Her acting was solid, but her storyline didn’t live up to her potential. Instead of a meaningful arc, her character got reduced to a typical family conflict with her father—something that could’ve gone in a much more interesting direction.
Another standout was Hong Yao as Xiao Jing Shan. I’m not sure if he was dubbed (it wasn't listed anywhere), but if he wasn’t, then props to him. His diction and line delivery felt natural and his expressions added real weight to his role. He gave off “quality actor” energy.
As for the story itself, it was more cohesive than most xianxia dramas I’ve seen. That said, I ended up sympathizing more with Bai Jiu Si than Hua Ruyue. From the start, even though Ruyue seemed to care for others on the surface, her actions were mostly driven by self-interest. Everything began with what she wanted, not necessarily what was right. In her relationship with Jiu Si, he was the one constantly focused on her—doing everything for her happiness and safety. Meanwhile, she mainly focused on her own feelings and perspective, often disregarding his.
Take the situation with the child: Jiu Si didn't want one because Lord Yu Ya warned him that pregnancy would weaken Ruyue. Even if he had told her they needed to go take punishment for killing the drought dragon, the baby probably would’ve died anyway—or even Ruyue herself, considering they’d be struck by 99 lightning bolts daily. Jiu Si’s karma, I guess, was making that choice for her instead of letting her choose.
What really sealed my sympathy for him was how, after everything he did to protect her—including keeping her mortal for ten years to avoid divine punishment—he still got stabbed and imprisoned by her. All while hearing her say she hated him and wanted him dead. Then, when he finally learns the truth—that they had a child and lost him because of his actions—he’s emotionally wrecked. And to top it off, he watches the love of his life get burned and buried alive. Like, bro. That’s pain.
Overall, the story was okay. It felt tame for my taste, but it was digestible.
-------
*edit: Now that I’ve finished it, I have to say—the ending felt like it was written purely for convenience, just to avoid a “bad ending.” It was rushed and fell flat.
The villain’s motive, while initially understandable (his revenge being warped by the demonic energy he consumed), ended up feeling forced. The story tried to deepen his vendetta by turning it into this whole “restart the world through destruction” plot, but it lost me. It felt like it came out of nowhere and didn’t connect to his original reason for vengeance.
It would’ve made more sense if he had tampered with time to go back and save his family. That would’ve been consistent with his grief. But instead, they went with “erasing the killer’s name” as a resolution—like, bruh. Really?

Deja Vu
This Series feels like you watched it before. Immortals , humans & demons, gorgeous actors, unnecessary special effects and cheap plastic serving for accessories or armor decoration, plot is more or less the same.Love Bai Lu, but I prefer to watch her in more serios dramas., her character is the same as in recent Moonlight mystic .Jozeph Zheng beautiful drunken sleepy eyes save almost anything and this Feud is not an exception.

Awkward and Painfully Boring
After 6 episodes, I can confidently say this is one of the most boring dramas I’ve ever dropped. The plot is bizarre and nonsensical, with events crammed in without emotional buildup or proper character development. It feels more like a parody of xianxia than a serious drama. The dialogue is weak, the humor feels forced, and the pacing is erratic. The theme song sounds like a knock-off of the song Unsullied from the Ashes of Love.Visually, it is overdone, with exaggerated colors that make everything look fake.
To make things worst, Bai Lu and Zeng Shunxi are completely miscast in these roles, and they have zero chemistry and completely mismatched vibes as a couple. A waste of great talent on a poorly written, emotionally hollow mess.

Good start with non sense ending
The story is passable, and there’s no denying the actors are skilled—I’ve admired their performances in other works. However, in this particular drama, they seem unable to inject the emotional depth the story demands. Something feels off, almost like they’re just delivering lines rather than living their roles.
Once the characters’ real identities are revealed, there’s an abrupt and jarring shift in personalities. These 180-degree turns don’t feel earned or natural; instead, they seem like an attempt to quickly pivot the narrative. It gives the impression that the creators opted for a “safe” storytelling approach—leaning into romantic comedy tropes instead of pushing for something more daring or layered.
Overall, it’s the kind of show you watch when there’s nothing better available. It’s not engaging enough to draw you in, but it doesn’t frustrate or annoy either—which, in today’s drama landscape, is still something. In a sea of frustrating titles, at least this one feels watchable, even
At this point, the drama feels more like filler content than an actual story. The pacing drags endlessly, and most of the episodes could be skipped without missing anything significant. This plot could’ve easily been wrapped up in 10–20 episodes.
Also, the supposed “equality” between the male lead (ML) and female lead (FL) is more claimed than shown. If she’s truly his equal, why doesn’t she have her own kingdom, army, or loyal followers? Instead, she has to rely on mortal sects. More importantly, despite repeated claims of equal power, the FL is clearly weaker—she can’t even land a hit unless the ML lets her. That’s not strength, that’s restraint on his part.
The characters lack substance. There’s no real backstory, no emotional grounding—just a set of people moving through the motions without any sense of individuality. They don’t feel like real people with real motivations. Instead of connecting, I felt detached. I didn’t love or hate anyone—I just felt nothing. That emotional void is a clear sign that the drama has failed to make a real impact.
⸻
From beginning to end, the story is a series of irrational decisions made by aimless characters. No one stands out as wise or truly strong. Even after achieving something as grand as immortality, the characters remain shallow and confused.
It’s like watching chess pieces being moved around at random by a writer who’s lost track of the game. Characters are introduced or eliminated without purpose, as if everything is happening just for the sake of drama, not because it serves the story.
The most baffling part? The ending. It’s illogical, emotionally hollow, and completely forgettable. What does the FL even achieve? Living in an illusion? Changing a past that has no real consequence on the present? There’s no emotional payoff, no meaningful closure—nothing that stays with you.
Honestly, the biggest flaw lies in the writing. What started with potential ended in complete disarray.

I love you..., hate, choked, stabbed, decieve, I did this all for you...for us? Ok, I love you again
I was really into Feud when it first started. It had gorgeous visuals, heavy emotions, and that dramatic, almost operatic energy that only a fantasy drama can bring. But somewhere around the halfway point, my excitement mellowed out. It’s not your typical xianxia drama with the usual enemy-to-lovers arc. This one leans more into the eternally doomed lovers kind of story. Li Qing Yue and Bai Jiu Si weren’t enemies; they were already deeply in love, had a history, and then just kept breaking each other over and over again. It was more like: we’ve loved, misunderstood, separated, hurt each other because of miscommunication, choked each other out, killed each other, deceived each other, and still… somehow fell in love again, because we never really stopped. It’s tragic and romantic, and exhausting all at once.Bai Lu, as always, was incredible. Her performance as Li Qing Yue/Hua Ru Yue was easily the best thing about the drama. You could feel every layer of her pain, devotion, and inner conflict even when the script wasn’t giving her much to work with. Honestly, the role felt kind of one-dimensional compared to what she’s done in the past, but she gave it everything and made it believable. Zeng Shun Xi, too, nailed his portrayal of Bai Jiu Si, so ethereal, untouchable, cold to the point of frustration. He looked and felt every bit the aloof, all-powerful master who doesn’t emote, doesn’t bend, and absolutely does not communicate with the woman he supposedly loves. Which, of course, led to misunderstanding after misunderstanding. Classic.
What didn’t land for me at all were the second leads—Fan Ling’er and Zhang Suan. If they were supposed to have a romantic arc, I completely missed it. I didn’t feel anything between them emotionally or romantically. That said, I did appreciate Zhang Suan’s admiration and steady love for Li Qing Yue, and Fan Ling’er’s loyalty to her was one of the few genuine supporting dynamics that felt real. But as a duo? Flat.
OST was immaculate.

Lessons from Cheng Yi
Mysterious Lotus Casebook is my unbeaten Cdrama favourite and Cheng Yi my cdrama King. So my interest in this was a little selfish as I wanted to see more of Shunxi. Watching this, within the first 3 episodes, I was already in love with his acting. He's the type of character that speaks with his eyes, something that Cheng Yi does really well, for me at least.
Xianxia and I have a bit of a yin and yang relationship ourselves, and I know these sorts of stoic, never speak their feelings ML's are abundant, but within the first episode, I was hooked on Bai's character.
It was like an immediate, "ohhhhhhhh, oh noooo," he's going to hurt my feelings. And I was right, he did. It was the classic, seems like an asshole character, but is in fact, baring all the pain and trouble. Simping, I believe some might call it.
But he had me. Just like Cheng Yi with every show I have watched him. Tortured prince lazer gaze and I couldn't look away.
He went up my 'must watch' list very quick.
By the ending of episode two, I knew I was going to binge this.
With that said.
What really took me out throughout this whole damn show, was how everything was preplanned. Literally every arc but the last, was just one plan after enough and after a while, I kind of rolled my eyes. It felt like one giant troll for the audience.
The illusion arc, ok, that one makes sense.
But the first one, didn't really sit well with me, because why would everyone act like they're on stage for each other. That to me, genuinely did not make sense. Bai wasn't there so why? I would have preferred an 'awakening' style approach but maybe the writer just didn't want something that is so common with Xianxia.
The character switch just didn't make sense to me if it was all such a pretend. I did feel some scenes were too long too. It's like they gave some scenes some extra minutes to stretch the episode but minor criticism.
I did genuinely enjoy the show. The saving of the first Meng did make me a little queasy and on two separate occasions, my eyes filled with tears. So far, only Cheng Yi has managed to do that for.
Bai Lu has been around for a while, I have watched and enjoyed her before. Her voice actress knocked it out of the park with 'that' scene. You will know when you watch it because damn, between the voice actress cries and Bai Lu's devasted face, it's an emotional scene to watch.
Bai Lu and Zeng Shunxi, did well together. Their chemistry seemed a lot more subtle but I think that went with deep yearning that the character of Bai felt. Not knowing what he done to deserve the love of his life's wrath. It was meant to be a deep will I or won't I kind of feeling, rather than a passionate blaze. The confliction between the characters was the main point.
I did feel like the show slowed a little after the reveal, which it takes to episode 23 to happen. Odd, since that's the final arc lol But I may have felt that way because we see a lot more of the side characters afterwards, to develop them in order to have their ending.
It's a bit of a roller coaster ride of guess what, and who's who, with glorious sets and hairstyles, but it has a classic xianxia style ending. Thankfully they at least save time to wrap up everyone's story, instead of rushing to a finish. That's something that really annoys me so I appreciated that.
Overall, it is a classic Xianxia style plot but with obvious twists in an effort to make it different and considering the genre's ending standards, it was a fairly happy ending.

If you're not prepared to stick this one out until the end, this drama isn't for you.
For a drama that I can't commit to saying I particularly loved, I actually have a lot to say about it. This is a strangely addicting drama. The story is unconventional but pretty interesting if you're willing to hold your questions until the end lol I just don't necessarily agree with the way it's being told. I was very upset for the first 10 episodes. The way this story is being delivered in terms of timing and plot holes can get very stressful for people who are impatient. But once I finished and was given all the context, I think they wrapped the story up on a strong note. There was an art to the messy way that this drama fed us information which will definitely not be everyone's cup of tea. It was one of the most unpredictable dramas I've ever watched. For me, the suspense level felt more like I was watching a mystery, rather than a xianxia. There's no overly fluffy love in this. From the beginning it seems that both the FL and ML are deeply flawed to the point where it's in question for most of the drama whether or not the audience should even want a happy ending for them.ML & FL: Visually, they are a beautiful pair, which is usually the case with anything Bai Lu is in. The first 2/3 of the show it's really hard to take a stance on either of these two because we aren't given enough information about their past together. So in the beginning everything they do and say to each other just seems completely toxic, unhinged and unjustified. In my opinion, the drama waited a little too long to explain the reasons behind their "feud" and could potentially lose viewers who are impatient over this. The show starts in the present and clearly whatever trauma they both went through has driven them both insane. Siling's rage and scheming seems too intense and cruel. And although it's clear Bai Jiusi is hopelessly in love with FL his mistrust is too strong too allow him to make any reasonable decisions when it comes to her. But he is also so blinded by his love that he is delusional and willing to trust her over and over. Between her hatred and his ignorance this story is just a cocktail of misunderstandings for a good while. I found myself eating my words and changing my opinions about the leads and some of the side characters so often in this drama that I was starting to get whiplash. But the more and more context about their past the drama gives, the better it gets.
The First Love Tribulation: The two of them coming from the same power source and the urge to constantly engage and challenge each other forces their lives to be forever intertwined. So I can see how they would embrace an attempt at love. But their opposite and opposing natures ultimately resulted in that love turning toxic when it came time for their love tribulation. They are fire and ice. He's a cold-hearted, by-the-book type and she is a bleeding heart naturally but also completely reckless in all her decision making. She lets her emotions blind her in every situation, shoots from the hip, and has little to no regard for the consequences afterwards. They just have completely opposite personalities and priorities but both clearly mean well.
Sadly, the way the tribulation ends (or doesn't) is in disaster for both of them. And once the trauma that Siling experienced afterwards is revealed, her future actions/feelings towards BJS are a lot more understandable.
Bai Lu and Zeng Shunxi did really well in their roles. As a Bai Lu fan, I've always thought her acting was better in modern dramas. But she really seems to connect with this role differently than other xianxias I've seen her in and her performance was really impressive. This is my 2nd encounter with ZS and I think he did a good job playing off BL and owning this character. The script and dialogue were pretty solid in this drama but it's the delivery from BL and ZS that was most impressive.
2CP: Zhang Suan is definitely pretty to look at but very boring to me. He was always hell bent on these pointless missions where he is chasing after the FL when she really doesn't need his help. Even after he finds out she is an ancient goddess married to BJS he still doesn't give up. His story line is tedious and when he first met Ling'er I had hoped he would wise up but that never happens. So he remained a lukewarm character for me at the end. Ling'er, however, completely won my heart. She was beautiful, smart and tenacious in all the best ways. Her loyalty and love for Siling was so sweet and Siling was definitely a better parent figure to her than her own terrible father was. And this is another point that makes me irritated with 2 ML again. The way Siling acts towards him, and all mortals really, is not just like a leader, but also like everyone's mother. So after seeing this and he still doesn't drop his romantic feelings for her, he is just a hopeless fool in my book.
Side characters: In the beginning, every single character, not excluding the leads, does not make any decisions based on logic. Everyone is similar in that their actions are based on their current emotions/hearts first. Everyone except Li Mo. I like how he only feels the caring kind of love for all beings instead of romantic love. It makes his decision making more rational and he takes his time before acting in any situation. In a drama full of lawless, overreactors his grounding presence became a staple for me and was both welcomed and refreshing. As for everyone else, at first I found their impulsiveness more annoying than charming because the show made absolutely no attempt to explain these characters on a deeper level. But as the show progressed each character becomes easier to understand and sympathize with. Even the brash Long Yuan plays a critical role here.
My other 2 favorites were Ning Yan and Yin Tong Zi (Story Demon). They were both so funny/adorable and their little friendship was cute.
Ending: I have to say from the first 20 eps I did not see myself liking the leads or rooting for their love story at all. But one thing this drama did well was mind games and twist and turns. Surprisingly, by the end I thought they wrapped up their story nicely and I even shed a few tears for them in the last third of the show. I don't regret watching this drama at all. It's not a favorite but it was an interesting watch with little to no boring parts. I do not see myself rewatching it, as the first 2/3s of it was very stressful lol
OST and Cinematography: The OST is pretty good. The theme song is by far the best song but the background music isn't annoying or overly intense. It fits every scene well. The graphics are decent and the various settings are vibrant and interesting. The costumes don't do much for me but the hairstyles are pretty cute.

Don't corner yourself again
So I like the initial episodes more because it was a light hearted sweet romance, I like how they fulfilled our fantasies by showing wedding, kisses and everything good in the 1st few episodes. Other then that is was pretty mediocre for me cus I have already watched alot of dramas with similar plots like this is the standard formula for c historical drama which is to feud instead to just talk with each other. I wasn't impressed by the villain like they showed how he mercilessly let the god child die but was a little hesitant to kill the eating tao. The 2nd leads were also underwhelming they started good but at last the boy was sitting there not even trying to save the girl and after everything solved he still remained distant with the lady. So overall I watched it. It wasn't boring, I didn't have to skip it, the scenery was good and everything. A good drama for bailu and jz fans but not like very special or anything like that. Was this review helpful to you?
