K-Drama More than just your typical revenge drama
I thought this was just your typical revenge drama, but they this was so much more better and special. The acting and chemistry was so much more intense and the relationship between 4 of them had more depth. The antagonists didn't just serve as stepping stones for the main leads to shine, it was more than that. By the end, I could feel the pain and loneliness of the villain too. This was a masterpiece. Was this review helpful to you?
I really enjoyed this one. ❤️ I had already watched and loved the Korean version, so when I found out there was a Japanese adaptation, I really wanted to experience the story again from a different perspective.
Even though I already knew the story, I still enjoyed watching everything unfold again. I liked the whole idea of getting a second chance at life and being able to change the things that went wrong the first time.
I also enjoyed watching Misa become more confident and determined after going back in time. She knows what happened to her before, so it was satisfying to see her make different choices and take control of her own life.
The revenge part was also really fun to watch. 😂 There’s something satisfying about seeing her finally stand up for herself and stop letting the people who hurt her decide her future.
I also liked the romance and watching Misa and Asahi get closer. ❤️ Since I already knew the story from the Korean version, I was especially curious to see how the Japanese adaptation would handle their relationship and the characters.
Overall, I’m glad I watched it. It was interesting to see a story I already loved in a different version, and it gave me another chance to enjoy the characters and the story all over again.
A little note: I watched this because I loved the Korean version. I already knew the story, but honestly, I didn’t mind watching it all over again. I’m always happy to watch a good story twice. 😂❤️

Boring and unnecessary
The leads, particularly the FL both had the same pained expression in every episode. They seem to have been written to somewhat unlikeable. There was no humor which made the show rather boring. She just managed to avoid repeating decisions in her previous life without any ownership or personal growth. The whole show felt very superficial, but that may be the hazard of being a remake of a very recent series. Was this review helpful to you?
first time to review a drama because I like this more..... hehe!
When I saw there is a Japanese version, I went to check who were the cast and its my fav Japanese actor/actress, I immediately added to my watchlist and didn't regret watching every episode.FL: I love her in Yuokai Sharehouse. I see different side of her acting in taking up Misa, she embodied her, she "became her". Every emotions, she portrayed it very well. I can see her sadness, her frustrations and her happiness.
ML: I like him in Ruruoni Kenshin. I asked myself how will he portray his character in this genre, and it didn't disappoint me. He acted out his character very well. You can sense his coldness and warmth. His gestures are undeniably authentic.
I hope to see them act out together in other genres, action or comedy maybe.
SFL: Sei portrayed her villainous character perfectly. You can see her jealousy and hate. I love to see her more in movies or drama in another character.
SML: His character is complex and frustrating. Yokoyama, channeled his role in him. Sometimes I question, is his character that stupid?
Overall, I like this version more than the Korean because it centers on the 4 characters, there is no third party especially between Wataru and Misa that cause their relationship to fall off. The side characters also breathed life to their characters, I like the sister Miku, she is like Yoo Huiyeon, very supportive and lovable.
I only wished that they added more part where we can see the main leads' happy relationship and getting married. hehe!

That Awkward Moment When The Remake Is Better Than The Original…
Title says it all. The pacing was perfect. The music, the acting, the plot… everything was chefs kiss. I like how they got straight to the point instead of wasting time with theatrics and drama like the OG version. I’m also SO glad they didn’t do that bullshit with the ex fiancée. She was horrible and completely unnecessary in the Korean version. I find the best friend character, Raina, way more terrifying than Sumin ever was. The reasoning behind the obsession and anger was so raw and real too. Tomoya being an oblivious mama’s boy (turns malicious in the end) was way better of a characterization, too. It was more understandable why Misa fell for him. Overall, amazing. I’m going to keep rewatching! Was this review helpful to you?

Takeru Satoh is awesome, and so is Sei Shiraishi. The script can go f itself
Bear with me, the last J-drama I watched was Hatsukoi (First Love), and even though it also suffers the same fate as most Japanese dramas of overly very happy ending, and albeit having a very cliche plot (amnesia), the script and characters were more realistic and relatable.I dont get why other dramas cant get on the same level and suffer with overly genki characters with little concern for realism. Are these the usual conversations Japanese dads tell their daughters (epi1)? Really? Is everyone this genki at work? I know there’s a concept of tatemae but this is over the top and seriously just cringe. There’s a really fine line between tatemae and cringe, and other dramas are able to balance that out. Is this the work of an amateur script writer?
It doesnt help that the main actress here I find that her acting is abysmally poor. This is honestly the first time that I cant stand a main character. It doesnt help her case that the script is so bad. Remind me to check the cast before I watch any J-drama in the future (I’ll be sure to check the script writer too).
The only other thing that saved this drama is the main villain’s character. Her actress also performed really well. However, the lack of backstory honestly felt a bit disappointing, and how she even became a “naturally” evil human being suffered because of that.
I dont know, the first half had me, the latter part just has too many wtf moments.
I need to remind myself to avoid this drama’s script writer and the main actress.

Story Line and Acting
The main female character storyline is annoying, somehow wishing I could grab her from the tv and slap her. The storyline is annoying so as even in her second life, she’s still foolish. I can rewatch the Korean adaptation but honestly not this. The only part she stood up for herself in the whole 4 episodes is when she refused to wash her fiance’s suit.. other than that, Nothing.I seriously don’t know what the producers/directors were thinking.

Marry My Husband
Was this review helpful to you?
