If he wasn't the ML he would have easily died at least three times lol
Honestly, I don't really want a second season. One, cause the ML is just not really it and secondly judging from what happened in season one, it is very plausible Mr. Smile gets killed by Jungsik not because he is capable, but because he is the main and as Guk Ho he will have an insane plot armor.
For real! I was like ''don't you see what is happening?''
It was indeed confusing! I think it is mostly cause the ML was a drug addict and it was difficult to differentiate what was actually happening and what wasn't.
I liked episode 3 and 6 too! I looove twists.
It feels like he changes characters it is super frustrating. He was corrupt from the get go. He chose to get money that didn't belong to him and put his daughter in danger. He didn't care about Guk Ho being alive or dead, because (rightfully so) he said they were putting their lives on the line for him. He went after him because he thought he raped his daughter and THEN SUDDENLY, he was like "I am a police officer, I can't kill him" 😂😂😂 Only way this would have any logic, is if he did it on purpose to look kind when in reality he wanted to kill Guk Ho to get the money, but the series didn't really imply that...
The thing is I can't really be sure of many things, but this is how I see it. The contact with his friend is possible to have happened before his death. Another scenario is that he imaged it, cause he was a drug addict.
You can see it in multiple ways.
1. He was a drug addict and he ended up committing suicide like that girl in the apartment. His suicide was not because of her, but because his life was falling apart.
2. She lead him to his death by haunting him.
3. He died from overdose at some part of the episode and most of his encounters with the girl was because he was already dead or he was seeing her cause he would ultimately have the same fate .
I think that her ghost was not really that bad or at least not entirely at fault of his death. There is this scene where he cries while she is caressing his head. It could be that he simply lost what he could have had cause of his addiction and he can't really come to terms with it. That is why he decided to die or at least follow her in death. She also "sinned" and basically ruined her life by becoming an adulteress and that is why she committed suicide. Something similar happened to him and he ended up having the same fate. The problem is that he wasn't aware of it for a while, either cause he was an addict or because she was haunting him.
The episode has many scenes that feel like hallucinations or don't really feel real. Night turns into day and the opposite
I loved the fourth one and the last one quite a lot. Third one was also pretty good!
Of course that was also used as a plot tool to make the ML chase Guk Ho.
I have submitted an edit about it. You can update it as completed from the app though.
There were quite a few lose ends in the finale.
She mentions that it is because of her physical injuries. She implied they are typical for people who have been sexually assaulted and that is the reason she wants to do a gynecological test on her.
This truly could be great with this team and the original novel is fantastic! I truly hope that the execution is good 🙏
For real. Like it is so rare to see any capable police officers...
I liked that they died, since I didn't expect it, but their characters felt very unnecessary and like the typical characters that I see in Kdramas.
Same with the mayor. She may not be dead but she was such a typical political figure character and she literally "disappeared" after what happened and had 0 importance for the main plot.
The series 100% has many irrational and purely unbelievable scenes, but some of them were at least entertaining and fun to watch, like Mr. Smile. Other times, they just felt dumb and repetitive. Like main evil dude not dying or seem weak no matter what happened to him...
This seems very promising so far.
