I think people on this page will say you they prefer SL and on Chongzi page, they like Chongzi more))I only can…
Hmm, not necessarily, a lot of people are dissatisfied with Chongzi, which is why I was wondering if this one is faring better. I haven't watched this one yet so I can't compare. Just haven't had a great, new xianxia in too long.
I thought I was tripping...swear the FL from New Life Begins (Tian Xi Wei) was playing support role Zi Wu in first…
I haven't watched the drama but this whole lookalike thing I've come across a few times. There are a few actors who really could be twins or siblings at least because they look so alike.
I don't see any chemistry between them in interviews either.
Whenever the FL is doing her baby act in front of the ML, I feel sorry for him lol. When will Jeremy Tsui get a FL who can act and isn't just a pretty face?
Depends on your standards. I watched the first few episodes last night and was very underwhelmed, especially by the FL's silly baby act. I hope we can move on from it soon. If not, I won't be able to finish this drama.
I think people became overly attached to the first part and couldn't accept the developments in the second. I…
I agree that Part 2 had it as well. I've just finished it and my one biggest criticism is how much it has been edited down, way too much was cut. They should have extended the end part to more episodes. The amnesia part should have been a couple of episodes shorter imo, then they would have had more time for the dramatic climax.
He did seem very authentic, not modernised like a lot of historical MLs are.
Totally! I just looked up the show on Google and to my surprise, according to an article from BBC News, this drama was the most googled drama ever (in 2018). I also looked up all of those historical characters to read about them on Wikipedia 😅
What I love best about Ying Luo is that not only will she bury the people who wrong her…she will salt the earth…
Totally, what is so amazing about her character is this balance of dark and light features, and also her EQ is off the charts, she has such an intuitive understanding of people's characters and their responses, but she always has to hide the extent of her intelligence, so much subtlety in how it's been done. I have been rewatching it for the first time since si first watched it. Excellent performances all around the cast really, so impressive.
Its funny how a drama hereon MDL can have such a high rating but all the recent comments are mostly about how…
I think people became overly attached to the first part and couldn't accept the developments in the second. I see this so often in Asian dramas that have seasons or parts. I actually prefer the second part to the first because the first had so much fluff and unnecessary subplots.
At least half of the Chinese idol romance dramas have FLs with cute and whiny voices. It's a trend that keeps…
Same, I have a C drama playlist on Spotify with all my fav songs. The songs are so beautiful for ALP, but also the instrumental score! Sadly, I can't find the full instrumental score anywhere, so I listen to clips from the drama for the background music lol.
Btw despite The Blue Whisper being a bit of a flop, the songs are fantastic.

Totally, I also found this puppy master relationship a bit odd, the way Reba talks to Ren Jialun, it's like she's talking to a child. Love and Destiny was my favourite but I rewatched it too many times. It is, imo, the drama with the most character evolution/growth. Nini and Chang Chen brought a lot of complexity to their roles.
ALP is my alltime favourite now because it's so beautiful and intense and devastating. Also the CGI and instrumental score were fantastic!

Totally agree. The Blue Whisper and Immortal Samsara were just... blah. They weren't bad, they were goodish, just missed the mark somehow, failed to get me really hooked.. The Blue Whisper really disappointed me but I just didn't feel the chemistry between the two leads. I haven't managed to watch the whole of Song of the Moon yet so I'll reserve judgement. :D
The best xianxias imo in the last few years have done the 3 lives/3 part plot format e.g. Ancient Love Poetry, Eternal Love of Dream, 10 Miles of Peach Blossom and Love and Destiny.

I'll definitely give it a go because this is my favourite genre anyway. I need a new drama addiction lol. I'm still obsessed with Ancient Love Poetry... Nothing has aired this year so far that I wanted to rewatch... :-(

Possibly the biggest dilemma of humankind...
