Agreed. It's sad to see talented actresses reduced to doing the baby act and the amount of actresses who cannot act at all and rely entirely on their pretty face, pouty lips and eyelash batting. I don't mind it so much if the baby act is in moderation and only in the beginning of the drama providing there is significant character growth fairly soon.

The question is whether she will blossom or just remain a baby bud the whole drama. I can tolerate it if it is only for a few episodes to demonstrate character growth, but let's be real here, in so many C dramas with baby girl FLs, there is no growth...

Just because it is common doesn't mean it is good...

I suspect it is partially cultural, but that doesn't mean te stereotype isn't harmful. As a European, I object to these chronically stupid baby girls not just because they are incredibly irritating and not relatable, but also because they contribute to a misogynist culture that reduces women to cutesy little girls who need help with everything, not strong intelligent *women*. There are so many talented Chinese actresses that are just as beautiful as the baby girls. But sometimes even they are sometimes "ordered" to play that act. Imo it also reduces the quality of C dramas...

But... maybe we could gather fans here who are likeminded and do something about it.

There needs to be an online protest against the continued casting of these kinds of FLs to thoroughly kill off this trend.

I forced myself to watch it. It's a good story, you just have to immunise yourself against the baby act from the FL lol.

I also would like to make it clear to them how much I hate the whiny baby FLs. Knowing what the FL is like makes me reluctant to even watch the first episode of this drama. I'm so sick of the baby girl act.

Wow, amazed how many people love this drama. So overrated in my opinion. Chemistry was weak between the leads, story was excessively political and focused mainly on one region.

First 2 episodes were a strong start for a historical drama. So far, the vibe is more serious and intense. So far not a drama for those who prefer it light and easy.

The ML was Kris Wu who has been convicted for being a serial rapist.

In my experience, the English titles for Asian dramas are rarely relevant to the story.

4 episodes left to watch... Prospect feels like torment, but because I've managed to get this far, I cannot give up now....! All involved in the writing of this drama should apologise to the talented actors who wasted their time with this production.

There are a few upcoming WeTV dramas like Journey of Chongzi (although I'm sceptical it will be a hit, but hope to be surprised), it's due to start airing next week apparently.

Just want to say, I took your advice and started Waikiki. First episode had me howling with laughter. Oh man! So funny!
