Nothing special really. Super basic romcom with just average mid writing. 7.5-8.0.

Watch if you like High Tech intertvined with romance. It's just cool wtaching the dating inside the virtual world, but that is all.
Far from a must watch, not bad but also not good.
I'm slowly wtaching just 1-2 eps at a time, nothing is hooking me, nothing is also making me drop.

Look up "Otome Games", it exists for many years already, just not in virtual reality...YET. But likely VR dating happens soon too, the tech is already here (well except here it was more advanced in that it knocks one out to move around fully more freely vs hoe VR actualky is right now), someone just makes a dating game into VR format and voilá.....

edit: I just remembered that on My Little Old Boy variety show, there was a game like this in some of the recent eps. A guy was playing with virtual girlfriend lol. Honestly it looked embarrassing and cringe lol.

Please a good Female Lead! It's a Romance drama, so it's important.

DON'T just watch ANY Random ones, or you'll get a wrong impression. Tons of bad ones, among some very amazing ones.
Always go for the popular ones, they tend to always be longer too, since the trashy ones just get canceleld mid airing.

Addicting! This is the 1st time I've come across so many men shipping anyone too, the leads so powerful turned even men romantic. )

- Erkensi Kus / Early Bird (romcom/dramedy, addicting and more lighthearted than Kara Para Ask, so more watchable when stressed in life etc.)
- Kiralik Ask (Romcom dramedy. Totally Healing Anti-stress Regular Binge for me. Even when it has dramatic moments it's still very antistress, I keep reading comments that others keeps rewatching it too).

- Sefirin Kizi (Kara Para Ask Main Leads' Reunion Project 6 years later🥰. After the original FL actress leaves /was fired for being drama queen backstage or something lol. Also The Kara Para Ask screenwriter Swaps into the new writer for the series too once the leads reunited to fix the trash it was before the leads + writer made it good. All 3 saved the project in the end and no early cancellation and good endings.)
- Black and White Love (I haven't yet watched this one..but same screenwriter as Kara Para Ask! So must be amazing too! Others gave good reviews)


Good Telenovelas to get started with:
- Pasion de Gavilanes (total Classic for a reason!. They even made a follow up season 2 , 20 years later in recent years. But season 2 not remotely as good. But still pretty watchable too and fun tos ee them 20 years later)
- Los Serranos
- Road to Love (Family + Romcom)
- La Reina del Flow (mafia, revenge + Music!)
- Blood Ties / Las Villamizar (Historical. 3 Female leads and their loves)
- Betty en NY
- Cable Girls (though some love triangle drama totally ruined the main lead pairings and ruined main female lead character writing. Watch later seasons for friendships between the women and the other lead pairs instead)
- The Unbroken Voice
- Without Breasts There Is Paradise
- Bolivar


NOTE!:
Turkish dizis
are more Melodramatic+ SLICE OF LIFE than Kdramas.
It's like a mix of Slice of Life with serious drama.
They are also much longer.
Telenovelas 60-80 ep or 100+ eps.
Dizis (well the good ones which didn't get canceleld mid aieing) tend to be 40-60 ep x 2 hour eps. Some places like Netflix and Youtube divided the eps into 45 minute more watchable chunks x100-150+ eps.
Longer doesn't mean boring, they are so well-paced often and longer format allows for deeper romantic lovelines and character developments.
....I could binge 10-60 eps of Kara Para Ask or Kiralik Ask in a flash vs many kdramas even when much shorter I struggle to get through just 3 eps lol.

Dizis generally come in 2 Types:
a) Thriller/action/Revenge Melodramatic Romance.
As If MAKJANG + SLICE OF LIFE got combined....

(Kara Para Ask, Yargi, Marasli, Black and White Love, Hudutsuz Sevda etc.)

or
b)
More RomCOMS, but also has dramatic moments.
More Slice and life and DRAMEDY than Kdrama romcoms.
(Erkenci Kus, Kiralik Ask, Ada Masali, Sen Çal Kapımı, Sefirin Kizi )



Telenovelas tend to ke very Melodramatic Romance too.
But VERY GOOD CHEMISTRY and hot people.
Dizis also have that amazing chemistry.
Overall they are better in having Realsitic romance and amazing chemistry, than kdramas.
Kdramas really can't keep up with the chemistry, in Dizis and Telenovelas chemistry so good it almost looks they are all dating off screen too lol.

I guess the kdrama Reign era is over. These days all scripts are trash to Mediocre AT BEST...

I switched to Turkish dizis and Telenovelas instead for my Romance tv fix and to rewatching old favs....

You must not have watched Positively Yours where both ML and FL both felt like side characters in contrast to side stories which took center stage instead, sister in law with dramatics was more main lead and 2 ML who somehow had as much screentime with FL as ML. 🤦🏻‍♀️

and the one after this one (Love Is Coming) has Ha Seok Jin (Something About 1% guy) and Hani.

I think lately all these late 30s to early 40s actors are pivoting to these longer Weekender kdramas, thus bigger names there suddenly, since the younger actors these days have more popularity and get cast in the more mainstream global kdramas, weekenders are more accepting of older actors as leads....

The Oldest son ML looked MUCH better with the Curly hair he had in ep1-2!
