Unpopular opinion: I actually think Seo InGuk is a lot more attractive here than in Doom At Your Service.
Maybe because the personality of his character is much more to my type. Doom At Your Service ML was much too pompuous, stuck up and godly behaviour type (maybe because he's not human lol).
This guy, while still confident, is way more HUMBLE and not arrogant.
A quiet type of sexiness, it's a Natural type of sexy. Whereas in Doom At Your Service male lead TRIES TOO HARD to be sexy....To the point I DIDN'T find him sexy, and wondered why Others found Seo InGuk attractive lol 😅
Also, I honestly thought he'd be Boring here too, like his character in Boyfriend on Demand. But this office worker male lead is actually sexy, unlike BoD snorefest....
Everyone has different taste. So excuse ny honestly, when I say that my that even BEFORE drama began airing, when I saw FL ex actor in cast list I found him ugly as hell and thought eww 🤮....
....Now that they wrote him like THIS, it's like his unattractiveness got maximized further a million times... it's to the point I can't even look at him without finding him Revolting times a million.
The worst part is how he acts all Confident in his mannersism when he acts, as IF he's attractive, when he's really really ugly...

I feel bad for the actor, for thinking this way. But had he played a more positive character I might've found him okaish, even when unattractive, but not revolting. "Just a very ugly, but ok guy"

Maybe because
1. We have been bombarded with too mnay of those Smalltown romcoms in past few years,
2. The ones offered this year (so far) where just not that compelling and average writing. Even the casting was just so-so. (Only the Lee Jae Wook one had truly well-matched leads)
They need to up the Writing Quality for these Smalltown romcoms now, or they'll continue to flop.
And maybe also take a break from doing them for a couple of years at least, so that they can begin so feel at least somewhat fresh......
3. This drama seems to at least ATTEMPT at least SOME originality in the smalltown romcom plot by adding Mystery and Amnesia at start of plot. Although amnesia is often overdone and annoying, it's very rarely done as a STARTING POINT, which imo is not annoying at all. Rather than cliché amnesia "Plot twist" later on, to Annoy the viewers, amnesia in START is more like Solving A Puzzle instead, and not an Plot-stalling-tactic annoyance...
Finally I have time to start catching up on the eps.
Ep3: Damn, that guy comforting 2FL: putting on the cap on 2FL & telling her to cover her tears.... So simple, yet SO DAMN ATTRACTIVE. In Top 3 probably of sweetest things a guy ever done in kdrama, and I've watched so many....
She propabably started falling for him RIGHT AWAY on the spot just like me lol 😂🥰 SWOOOOOOON! 😍😍😍😍

At least JHI wasn't found of any actual crime himself (so far), so more easy to ignore while watching for FL. Some of those who actually wrnt around graping others are so revolting to even look at...
Though I don't like how JHI has such deceptively innocent face, while hooking up with hookers....
The haters of Love Next Door are so lacking in objectivity. They are allergic to drama not being 100% fluffy romcom. 😅😅🤦♀️
....But let's ignore totally that drama as actually well written, in favor of hate because deeper feelings of pain not allowed even in 1% in a drama. 🤡🤡
I'm iffy on the whole lying to her while she has amnesia thing because the problem with dramas that build relationships…
The issue isn't even the lie+ buildup in itself.
It's that the Kdrama format is TOO SHORT of a format to execute it properly.
for example in telenovelas and turkish series (which are like 60-200 ep) (or even just longer 50-200 ep Kdrama dailies or weekenders) if one lead is lying or being annoying, they have TIME to make up for it. : So the viewers are annoyed at first and resent them for some eps. But then they make up for it over the course of many eps, and likely after the other lead has already punished them.
So the audience has TIME to forgive.
vs
in Kdrama there isn't ENOUGH EPS to properly create a Redemption/forgiveness story;
so Viewerss rightfully end up not properly forgiving the other lead and some resentment remains.
..I mean think about irl: Would you forgive someone right away after they made Minimal effort (kdrama)
vs spent lots of time making up for it (telenovelas, Turkish dizis, k dailies & weekenders)??
Latest examples: Dynamite Kiss... FL lies too much and ML sexist and not caring wether she can support herself, while claining romantic love. (Well this Kdrama was badly written all around 🤦♀️. Only first two ep good). A better written one would make ML only that uncaring towards her situation only at the very beginning due to class difference, and FL lying puniahed FL properly or some better longer arc of redemption for both leads.
In Your Radiant season. People loved this alla round, and while it's well-written overall, later reviewers rightfully resent the liar ML. The viewers where just supposed to forgive him too quickly because drama over soon lol.
