DRAMA PARA EMOLDURAR...
Já disse aqui inúmeras vezes e repito: como um drama desse tem apenas 10 episódios, aqui tudo funcionou excepcionalmente bem e não teve falhas ou enredo enfadonho; pelo contrário, tudo foi bem dinâmico e objetivo. Cada episódio era um caos novo, nunca tivemos episódios morosos e chatos; todos os 10 episódios foram bem estruturados e com uma dinâmica que invejaria alguns dramas de alto orçamento (Oi, “Newtopia” e “When The Stars Gossip”). Hwang Min Hyun apresentou um protagonista que conseguiu aliar carisma e boa atuação sem ser canastrão. Também merece elogios o Cha Woo Min, que interpretou de forma bem articulada o seu vilão blasé. Não conheço a webtoon do drama, mas torço para que, pela repercussão, tenhamos uma nova temporada.

Drama de excelente execução do início ao fim!
Aqui está um drama chinês que, do início ao fim, mostrou-se responsável e inegavelmente comprometido com o entretenimento. A protagonista feminina, Dou Zhao, foi inteligente, sagaz e poderosa durante toda a narrativa—nada daquela decadência que vimos em Kill Me Love Me, onde a protagonista começa promissora e, no meio do caminho, torna-se totalmente sem graça. Zhao, por outro lado, foi impecável. Suas ações e decisões mantiveram o interesse genuíno na história, pelo menos para mim. Já o protagonista masculino, Song Mo, também esteve à altura, e as cenas de romance e apoio mútuo entre os dois foram incrivelmente naturais e convincentes.O meu personagem favorito, no entanto, foi Ji Yong, o estrategista e controlador de toda a trama. Desde os primeiros episódios, eu acreditei nele. Ficava claro que ele tinha um plano, mesmo que exigisse sacrifícios, e que tudo era feito com o propósito de proteger sua amiga e alma gêmea, Dou Zhao. Sua lealdade inabalável e a forma calculada como conduziu os eventos elevaram cada reviravolta do enredo.
E aí veio a cena pós-créditos. Ficou uma brecha para uma continuação? Ou seria um final mais subliminar e sugestivo? Difícil dizer, mas, de qualquer forma, foi algo que ficou na cabeça, fechando de forma memorável um drama que não perdeu o fôlego em momento algum.

Inicio promissor, porém....
Um drama que começou com um brilho promissor nos primeiros episódios, entregando uma narrativa bem construída e cheia de potencial, mas que na passagem de tempo tropeçou feio. O ritmo acelerado e a edição desleixada acabaram comprometendo a experiência, deixando as construções afetivas tão rasas que quase passam despercebidas. O casal protagonista, SanHa e JuWon, foi praticamente jogado junto na reta final, como se os roteiristas tivessem entrado em pânico: "Vamos juntá-los agora, ou não dará tempo!" O resultado? Uma química que beira o inexistente.Por outro lado, me deixei cativar pelo casal HaeJun e Dal, mas a execução da relação deles conseguiu ser ainda mais desastrosa. O texto, especialmente em momentos cruciais, era de um nível quase embaraçoso. A cena do pedido de namoro é o ápice do constrangimento: HaeJun diz algo como "Meu sentimento por você não é tão forte quanto o seu por mim, mas vamos namorar mesmo assim." Sério? Que tipo de ogro acha que isso é uma boa ideia para um momento tão importante? Alguém precisava dar uma pausa no chá de cogumelos alucinógenos da sala de roteiristas.
No campo das atuações, o destaque absoluto vai para Choi Won Young. Mais uma vez, ele mostrou por que é um dos melhores veteranos em atividade. Seu desempenho como o pai de família foi impecável, talvez o personagem mais bem construído de todo o drama. No balanço geral, foi uma obra com um começo muito promissor, mas que perdeu o fôlego no final. Um bom drama, mas com ressalvas que não dá para ignorar. É isso.

Chegamos finalmente ao fim… obrigado, Deus.
Esse título já diz muito sobre a experiência de assistir a esse drama, que começou com um marketing brilhante e trailers promissores, mas, ao longo do caminho, revelou-se uma maratona de paciência. A direção de arte e os efeitos especiais realmente impressionaram — uma sofisticação visual que, infelizmente, não encontrou eco no texto. O roteiro era arrastado, monótono e mergulhado num melodrama exagerado que tornava cada episódio mais um desafio do que um prazer. Diálogos repetitivos e a falta de ritmo narrativo transformaram uma boa premissa em um fardo.O desfecho, ainda que coerente, traz decisões difíceis de engolir, como a morte dos personagens mais jovens, cujos sacrifícios serviram apenas para remediar os erros dos adultos. Isso deixou um gosto amargo e um desconforto inevitável. Ficou evidente que Zhuo era o verdadeiro protagonista, enquanto Zhao funcionava como uma espécie de coadjuvante de luxo, conduzindo os eventos principais sem nunca ocupar plenamente o centro da trama. Já o episódio especial, ao invés de oferecer surpresas ou reviravoltas, entregou mais lágrimas e um melodrama barato que reforçou o desgaste de toda a experiência.
Se a ideia era plantar expectativas para uma segunda temporada, o episódio final sequer fez essa gentileza. E, honestamente, talvez seja melhor assim. Esse drama poderia ter sido um épico, mas terminou como um exercício de resiliência para quem se comprometeu a assistir até o fim. Se algo precisa continuar aqui, que seja apenas o silêncio da tela preta.

IT’S OFFICIAL! ZHANG RUOYUN IS MY FAVOURITE ASIAN ACTOR!
I’ve watched “Joy Of Life I and II”, and now, after watching this new drama, it’s only reinforced how much I admire Ruoyun’s talent. He’s an absolute force of nature. Not only does he act brilliantly, but he also has a comedic touch that few actors of his generation possess. The way he balances seriousness with humour is so effortless and natural, which really draws the audience in.
Curious about the top-notch writing and storyline, I looked it up and, to my delight, discovered it’s the same screenwriter behind the two seasons of “Joy Of Life”, a huge hit. The quality is undeniably high, both in terms of professionalism and production value.
As this drama is from 2022, I’m eagerly hoping the Chinese producers follow through on their promise of a second season, because there’s clearly so much more story left to unfold.

Fan Xian será tornará um Grão-Mestre?
Tenho que dizer que agora tenho um ator chinês favorito: Zhang Ruo Yun. Que carisma e que domínio de cena ele tem! Não é à toa que "Joy Of Life" teve duas temporadas de sucesso tanto em audiência quanto em crítica. O protagonista se destaca de uma forma que prende o espectador, fazendo-o embarcar nas aventuras e loucuras de Fan Xian. Em nenhum momento me senti distraído assistindo aos episódios; pelo contrário, senti que eles acabavam muito rápido, o que me deixava frustrado.
A parceria entre Wang e Fan Xian tem uma química absurda. Desde a primeira temporada, as cenas deles são ótimas e bem desenvolvidas. Senti a ausência de Lin Wan Er nesta temporada, parecendo mais uma participação especial do que um membro do elenco fixo. Os atores Wu Gang (Chen) e Chen Dao Ming (Imperador) estão em outro nível de atuação. É impressionante como declamam seus textos e como a dualidade de seus personagens é apresentada.
Sinto que ainda falta explorar mais sobre os grão-mestres. Quero entender melhor esses personagens. Nas cenas do Templo na colina, ficou evidente para mim que o Imperador é o grão-mestre que se esconde no palácio; ele deu indícios claros disso. Também acho que Fan Xian é o filho favorito dele, mas está bem claro que o Imperador permitiu que a mãe do protagonista fosse assassinada, ou talvez ele mesmo tenha orquestrado isso. Sinto que a terceira temporada não será suficiente para responder todas as questões deixadas pela primeira e segunda temporadas. Quero entender por que o imperador de Qin do Norte é uma mulher disfarçada de homem e quais são seus planos.
Enfim, a temporada terminou com Fan Xian querendo se tornar um grão-mestre e com seu QI restaurado graças a um. Ah, quase esqueci de mencionar: o príncipe da primeira temporada, que era nostálgico, sério e odioso, tem uma personalidade completamente diferente nesta temporada, mais cômica, eu diria. Estou ansioso pela terceira, quarta e quinta temporadas—este drama merece. Obrigado, China!

Coréia do Sul e sua obsessão por: Conexões
Este é um drama político com um roteiro bem construído e que está de acordo com a realidade sul-coreana, onde os conglomerados, a política e a imprensa se tornam um só em muitas ocasiões. A questão não é apenas o vil dinheiro, mas uma palavra que é típica e dita em todos os dramas coreanos: "É importante ter conexões".O protagonismo de Kim Hee Ae no drama foi fortalecido por sua parceria com Moon So Ri, que deu um tom de feminismo assertivo à história e deixou tudo bem delineado para a batalha sangrenta que há na política e os meios mais abjetos para se chegar ao topo. Quero elogiar também a atriz Seo Yi Sook, que interpretou a presidente Son como uma ótima vilã, meio humanizada e meio diabólica, mas tudo no tom certo. Ela mostrou que, ao mesmo tempo em que queria derrubar Do Hee, tinha admiração e um certo carinho por ela. Complexo, não é? Mas é por aí.
O drama começou de forma frenética, com uma Do Hee proativa, destemida e super inteligente. Porém, ao longo do enredo, vi uma protagonista que se tornou ingênua e tola em vários momentos. No geral, foi uma boa experiência assistir a esse drama.

Very corny Western cast.
Yesterday, while watching this movie, I made an interesting self-discovery. To be blunt: I prefer Song Joong Ki's acting in movies more than in TV dramas. His acting in TV dramas is below average, and his facial expressions are the same for sadness, anger, happiness or emotion. In the movies, I see it differently; it seems that the director extracts all the artistic quality he has, and I consider that commendable. Anyway, now I have discovered what bothered me about his acting: the pasteurization that Korean TV dramas suffer. Korea is always more concerned with what the public thinks or will think than with the art itself of the product it broadcasts.About the drama, I found the synopsis interesting and the events very well developed and dynamic. However, it is necessary to mention the terrible acting of the Western cast of the film, all acting in a very corny way and causing embarrassment in every speech. I wonder how NETFLIX selected this cast, based on what?

HATTORI HANZO FOREVER…
I started watching this drama without any expectations and, before I knew it, I was completely hooked on the story and the characters. The drama, created and developed by the excellent Dave Boyle, presented a sense of common reality of Japanese everyday life in a family composed of “shinobis”, and the storyline was well tied and conducted in just 8 episodes, unfortunately. The fight choreography was so realistic that it became unnecessary to use visual effects to speed them up, where the viewer gets lost in the performances and ends up not watching anything but a bunch of fast movements. Here, Boyle took care to let us enjoy all the choreographies. As for the actors’ performances in the drama, it is noticeable that they were restrained and within the Western standard of acting, far from the theatrical performances that are trademarks of Japanese dramaturgy. Now, I confess I am looking forward to the second season and hope Netflix renews it, however, Japanese dramas tend to end with open endings and continuations simply do not exist. Very common drama with Jung Suk in a state of grace.
There are actors and then there are actors, but without a doubt, Jung Suk is at the top shelf. I believe that in the awards season, he and the leads of "A BLOOD LUCKY DAY" will be vying for the Best Actor award for drama. Returning to Jung Suk, he began the drama portraying himself as a sweet and simple prince, but upon ascending the throne, he transformed into a paranoid and suspicious king. However, as the episodes progressed, this image softened. Although I still believe that the crimes he committed three years ago have not been fully justified, I understand that if the characters affected by it have come to terms and moved on, I won't dwell on it.It's incredible how Shin Sae Kyeong's acting falls short, it's uniquely hammy. The female highlights in terms of acting, for me, are the veterans Park Ye Young (Lady Dong) and Jang Young Man (Queen Park).
My favorite character without any reservations was Kim Myung Ha, who was dismissed by the protagonist early on in the drama and moved on without trying to create a love triangle (thanks to the scriptwriters for that). Many times, he brought Hee Soo back to reality. Usually, secondary protagonists are persistent, but Myung Ha was different; he immediately stepped aside and even helped the couple get together in the end. Yes, I still find the lead couple extremely toxic, but that's a discussion for another topic.
It was an interesting drama that delved well into palace intrigues, and Jung Suk was the maestro behind it all.

Claudia Kim is AMAZING
We conclude the first season here, with more positives than negatives. I see this as a good outlook for the second season. Clearly, it was a drama made for the global audience with touches of Korean style. Many times, I thought I was watching a series from FOX or AMC because of the script style and the pace of the drama. The creature's CGI still presents issues in terms of art and finishing, but it seems to have improved as the episodes progressed. Nothing that deserves more consistent criticism.Now, talking about the story, I noticed something that most people didn't catch, but it's quite clear in episodes 8 or 9. I'll explain: Everyone remembers that it was Akiko who drank the water with Najin. However, in the mentioned episodes above, it shows that Najin was administered to Akiko as soon as she entered the hospital. So, who drank the Najin water from the lab? Tae-Sang is my highest probability. For me, the three characters who extended their life expectancies were Tae-Sang, Chae-Ok, and Mrs. Maeda because the trio has Najin in their bodies. Probably, their Najin is asymptomatic in their bodies, and maybe in the second season, they'll erupt, unleashing a whole hell. Possibly, one of the current favorite actors, Bae Hyun-Sung, will be Ishikawa and Akiko's son.
I conclude the review by saying that although Seon-Jun and So-Hee did very well in their roles, their torrid love story seemed exaggerated and superficial to me, not convincing me. But for me, the highlight of the drama without a shadow of a doubt was Claudia Kim, playing Mrs. Maeda. She took the drama for herself, portraying a chilly and restrained yet villainous and determined character. Moreover, she spoke Japanese with an excellent and well-executed cadence.

NOT EVERY HIERARCHY IS EASILY TOPPLED.
I must confess that when I started watching the drama, I saw the terrible rating of the last episode and thought it had been awful, but I found it consistent with how it began and how we got to this point. I noticed several insights for a second season. Some considerations:• Finally, Jae-I realised how toxic, obsessive, and abusive her relationship with Ri An was. It was a relief for her to understand that the two of them together, directly or indirectly, brought misery to everyone around them.
• I noticed an interesting insight left by the writer. Did you notice she rode a bicycle, stopped to sit on the bench near the street stall, and bought that snack with Ri An? Clearly, it was her subconscious showing that the moment she was happiest in all the hell she went through was with Kang Ha. In other words…
• I firmly believe that, in the hypothetical second season, the writer will develop the relationship between Jae-I and Kang Ha.
• I also believe that Kang’s smile and the exchange of messages were not him sending messages to Ri An. I think we will have someone violent who wants something. Kang Ha showed throughout the drama that he was a naive and kind young man.
That said, it is a drama with mediocre performances, but I liked the actress who played He Ra and found the actor who played U-Jin stunningly handsome.
