Dropped this after 16 episodes, then skimmed through the last four—only to be thoroughly disappointed. Zan’s most crucial moments of suffering were completely brushed aside, likely due to censorship, but that doesn’t make it any less frustrating. As for the ending... sighs a bizarre, glowing ghost-like apparition (or whatever that was) made it feel downright silly. Honestly, the production team might want to reconsider their career choices.
Someone tell me if this getting better after 10th episode ☺️
If romance is what you're looking for, you might find it worth continuing. But if you're seeking something beyond their sweet moments, I can't say much—I've put it on hold myself after 16 episodes.
Yeah, he gradually remembered pieces of the incident, by ep24 he fully recalled what happened and was haunted…
Personally, the romance feels somewhat underdeveloped and leans a bit too much into cringe for my taste, which is why I choose to skip it. However, if they finally shift the focus to Li Zan's perspective, I will consider picking it up again from that point. Thanks though!
Can anyone fill me in on what’s been happening in the recent episodes? Have they explored Li Zan’s perspective more after the bombing incident? I’m considering picking this up again once the romance phase is over. 🙃
Now that you mention it, a thought just crossed my mind—did she delete the post about the bullying incident?…
Right.. I put it on hold after Episode 16, I thought they might reveal more about the bullying case in later episodes. So in the end, it just ended with them making up then. 😂
I completely understand that the story focuses on Li Zan and Song Ran since they are THE main characters, but…
Now that you mention it, a thought just crossed my mind—did she delete the post about the bullying incident? I remember the school asked her to, but I don’t think they ever showed how the case was resolved.
I think you're referring to the flashback where they meet at Song Ran's house (episode 01). At that point, Song…
It wouldn’t be fair to those who haven’t read the novel if the production team simply expected them to piece things together on their own. Then again, given how messy the writing has been from the start, it’s not exactly surprising.

I’m not sure why it says 'mentor,' but my first instinct was to connect it to Li Zan’s father. I recall the novel mentioning that his father worked in construction and did help with Song Ran’s house—though it was arranged through a neighbor, not Luo Zhan.

In the early episodes, Li Zan and Luo Zhan had a conversation where Luo Zhan mentioned helping Li Zan’s father secure a construction project, which is why Uncle Li came to Liangcheng.
It’s ironic how a show I discovered by chance ended up surpassing the one I had been anticipating for so long. This one is unexpectedly fun—sharp cinematography, tightly paced storytelling, and not a single wasted scene. I’m honestly glad I gave it a shot. It deserves a higher rating.
Her sister will be working in a school. So, she probably moved in with Song Ran.
I don’t recall the novel explicitly stating Song Ran’s age, but it did mention that she had been living in Liangcheng for almost 23 years. It’s probably safe to assume she’s around the same age as Li Zan.

In the novel, Song Ran once mentioned to Li Zan that her sister is two years younger than her. When Aunt Yang moved in with Song Ran’s father, her sister had already been born. I think they might have just changed her name later on. 😂

Even though there are clues about Li Zan’s birth year, the drama doesn’t explicitly state the exact year it’s set in. However, in the novel, Li Zan is 23.
Is it really that bad? I already put this on hold because after yesterday’s episodes, I’m not sure I can stomach…
It feels like we'll never escape the pattern of rushing through the important moments with this one. Well, I still need time to gather my thoughts because everything feels so scattered, especially as my disappointments keep stacking up. 🥲
