I agree about ads and revenu from ads.
I also know that programs are sold to networks which get advertisement money.

But the movie/drama gets better success with an international success . Why?

1/ Netflix employs a cost-plus model, which means that it pays a show's entire production costs, plus a 30% premium.
So, production companies earn money to sell the program to multiple networks in the world if the show is a huge success.
Which means they get multiple time the production cost.

This cannot compare to domestic advertisement revenues.

2/ The cast and crew recognition internationally, indeed can bring them more work in the future. But don't forget that those cast and crew member have multiple movie deals with production companies.
So their next project will be profitable for the production companies.

3/ Royalties and residuals. Production companies (as well as actors, directors and other cast members [depending on their contract] )also benefit from the screening of those dramas worldwide by earning the royalties.
Note that Netflix doesn't pay residuals.


So I stand by what I said.
Domestic success is good but international success is way better.
I am not trying to convaince you though.

I also noticed that what they built as a strong female lead character able to fight for her believes, they lost it completly from the moment she has eggs on her hair.
She was stong enough to pester and go after male lead but she was unable to manage the fans that threw eggs at her. A pity.
The fact that ML defeded her in front of the public eye, to me is normal.
Because he is used to it and it is his job. Only him can stop the journalists and the crazy fans/ followers so nobody tries to kill her.

I never took FL as a great lawyer. To me it is a comedy. It is not serious. because who would pay legal fees with potatoes. Nothing is to take seriously in this drama.

I don't watch this show but, ML ending with SFL would be a big surprise.

She is too weak, and she never learns. I like the show but I am tired of her.

Yes MDL ratings don't matter. But they make their money in South Korea and overseas. A lot of show flopped in SK and were big succes overseas, making production company earn a lot of money. "Moon lovers :scarlett heart ryeo", "Marry my husband"...
So, international audience matters a lot.

Well... FL looks simple but I don't think she looks old. Although I think ML is very handsome, FL's styling (hair , makeup, clothes) is very plain. So yes she is not on the same level when ML looks like a stud.
I agree the drama doesn't need romance.

Nice drama overall. The script is a little to hasty in some parts but I enjoyed it regardless. The storyline is good.

Yes extraordinary drama full of courage and adventure, but I would have prefered Jian Ci and Wu Xiao to be on the run forever. hmmm

Yes, let's hope for a happy ending. The last episode seems very sad.

Honestly, after around 20 years. I find it really hard to believe that the guard found the notebook in the basement, knowing that Director Park and the Chairwoman already check all the premises.
They even found the secret office of Hae Seong's father and they planted a camera in it.
remember that, the guard was willing to give the notebook to Hae Seong and he was killed. He was also against the chairwoman.
In my opinion someone gave the notebook to the guard.

And hae Seong ask the chairwoman why she chose him, she dodged.
But I think that only Hae Seong can find that gold, for some reason he has to do the research.

To sum-up : if the chairwoman chose Hea Seong and the guard wanted to give him his father's notebook that the Chairwoman never saw, it is because his father is alive somewhere.
And this is probably him who gave the guard the notebook.
But will see how it turns out to be next week.

The brother is delusional.

Honestly a poweful entagonist like that cannont be defeate as easily. Usually they have to loose their helper first and then they are defeated.
I don't think the they drag the story to make it last longer.
As for now, episode 10 the chairwoman is not ready to be defeated. She is too powerful and she has all her helpers active.

1/ You are probably right, but If the dad was alive coming back as not a good idea because he knew the NIS was in cahoots with the chairwoman. This would put a target on Hae Seong's head.
The best would be to stay hidden and watch over him.
I saw the previews and it seems to be a grieving episode. Which I can understand.
What puzzles me is how the deceased security guard got the father notebook? Did he find it in that lair? I don't think so because that would not explain how the chairwoman knew about its existence.
I think there is something more to that story.
Because clearly the chair woman never saw the notebook before.
My question is where does that notebook comes from???
If ever the father is alive, he might have something to do with that.

I think some viewers don't like the romance subplot. They are here only for the mystery intrigue. Because the lasts 2 episode was the start of the romance between the leads.

I think the ratings for "undercover high school" are down this week because of the romance. Some people don't like romance and they live as soon as it begins.

Yes, I like the show. It is a cheating show. And the second cheeating show I watch with the actress.

1/ I wonder if it is really the father. In the last ghost story Dong nim said that someone would disappear and we know it is a fake story. So-called created by Hae seong's dad.
Therefore I wonder if this is the father or not. I might be mistaken. I don't know.

2/ dungeon on Taxi driver. I don't remember it. I watched it when I was a child.

I think it is a "lovers to enemies" trope so this is why Lu Yan is the ML.

To me Qin Mian is a supporting character given his role. He is a helper but he isn't a driving force to the plot.

I think it is an error because it is a revenge drama. and she is the heroine.
