What adult takes a pet turtle with him everywhere? It's cruel to stuff it into a tiny box - you can see IRL the…
Maybe it’s an emotional support turtle. 😁
But seriously, it’s pissed me off every time I see him desperately trying to escape that small, boring, unnatural enclosure. Perhaps it’s suppose to be an illustration of Diew’s desire to escape?
Argh! The miscommunication trope is so exhausting. At least Godzilla had the sense to step away when his BS meter was clanging loud and clear. And, Diew - it appears - has learnt that Godzilla is worth opening up to.
As an introvert I want to say to all the extroverts that we can enjoy by ourselves... You don't to change yourself…
Yes - also as an fellow introvert - I wish they’d illustrate more clearly that the main difference between these personality types is that extroverts get their energy by being around people, and introverts want their down-time/alone time to re-energize. Introverts love a good party too, but too much social time can be exhausting. Diew’s extreme shyness and apparent social anxiety are not really what defines an introvert.
From my view it appears James is too young and inexperienced to carry off the gravitas, stature and composure of his leadership role. However, if there’s a good trauma backstory it may improve my perception of his performance. On the other hand, I think Kad’s doing a good job as Pat and so he’s lifts the overall experience. The big question is will Elyes mend his playboy ways and learn to love - just one? I think Pat will help him breakthrough his past trauma to be a loving and lovable guy - we will see.
Im just 4 episodes in and so far this is golden! I’ve gotten choked up several times as we’ve seen Neil’s performance anxiety play out (yes “performance anxiety” in a BL 😂). Solid acting all around, great music, a compelling story, great pacing - I’m all in.
I’m glad I waited to be able to binge watch it - I need to do that more often. It’s not fun waiting for relatively short episodes.
However, the inclusion of MosBank in a cameo managed to drive home the stark difference between Thai BL and Taiwan BL - in a matter of seconds. That was a horrible creative decision.
Second time watching and I still love it as much as the first time. It’s a great story and the progression of the leads relationship - and their own personal growth - is so much fun to watch. I do love Chinese period costume dramas, the amazing locations and sets, the gorgeous costumes, the dashing men, the impressive acting by to many names to list, and the epic romance. If that sounds like your jam give it a go.
This appears to be one of those series you can’t take too seriously. It’s fun with lots of flaws, but not - so far - in a way that annoys me. Kad and Zax are delivering the best performances so far. James’ lack of experience shows, but he’s certainly good looking - I just hope his acting picks up. As many have mentioned, this is definitely a mix of shows (tropes) we’ve already seen, but that’s okay if it remains engaging. 🤞
I’m frankly a bit surprised that some viewers did not enjoy the brief (brief-less) rear-view-only streaking scene. 😂🫣🤭 Is that really so shocking and out of place in a fictional BL drama?
