Cute leads

Xiao Fang is an absolute gem and one of the most heartwarming Chinese rural series I've ever watched. It beautifully captures the simplicity of countryside life while telling meaningful stories about family, friendship, perseverance, and community. Every episode feels genuine, with characters who are relatable, kind, and full of depth. The acting is exceptional, bringing each character to life with natural emotion and authenticity. The stunning rural scenery adds so much charm to the series, making every scene visually relaxing and immersive. The storytelling strikes a perfect balance between heartfelt moments, light humor, and inspiring life lessons. What makes Xiao Fang truly stand out is its ability to remind viewers of the importance of compassion, hard work, and staying connected to one's roots. It celebrates everyday people and shows that even the simplest lives can be filled with extraordinary moments. This series is not only entertaining but also uplifting and refreshing. It's the kind of show that leaves you smiling, thinking, and appreciating the beauty of ordinary life. I highly recommend Xiao Fang to anyone looking for a touching, well-crafted, and unforgettable drama. It deserves every bit of praise and easily earns a 10/10.

ZiYi is a total boss queen

Yuan Ziyi battling to become sect leader of Weitao Sect is just pure fun awesomeness. Great fight scenes. Fun dialog. A very fun episode (except, of course, for the tragedy happening in the Miao Renfeng plot).

Finding supporters for Xihe

Both brothers come visit the crown prince on behalf of their mother. They get an up close view of HuaYong painting XiHe’s eyebrows. 🤣😂 He has a chat with his brothers with a more objective view of their mother’s ambition. He reminds them that curbing it now will safeguard her in future from more long term punishment. They both thank him and offer service to the Princess. He assures them it isn’t necessary because that’s his job, but wants them to remember the favor. When his aid asks him why he is handling them the way he is the Prince has an interesting response. Unrequited love leads to hate, but friendship can allow them to help and support each other long term. The bell line for bed😝 XiHe has had her first meeting with staff and three of them has mishandled materials or funds. She notes ms Cui up front with the gold bracelet and asks about punishments. She had quite a bit to say about the extent of punishments when it is clear she is the one benefiting most from their petty crimes. XiHe gives the three jobs they should do and how to recompense without harsher punishments and all are quite grateful. Consort Rong is far from through and gets Cui to resign. She sees this as giving a harsh blow to the young princess with no supervisory experience. XiHe has a migraine over this and the Prince offers a suggestion. He refers her to a MsTan who has over twenty years experience and who will support her as family. Can’t wait to see how this goes over with the palace plotter.😝😡🤬 Prince Lie is trying to bargain for horses and it is not going well. He is helped by a young lady who speaks Suta and all parties happy to no longer be lost in translation. 🤣Once it is learned money isn’t the issue they are happy to make the sale. Lie requests her assistance for the next few days as he wants to learn more about their care and maintenance. He is hoping her language skills will continue to close the gap and be a bridge for understanding with the horse traders. Huayong noticed the ingredient she added to his tea. When he comments about his lungs feeling better, she makes it clear she doesn’t want to owe him anything. She wants to weather storms with him but not be intimate. This is not what the prince wants to hear. I don’t think Empress Dowager is going to give up on having heirs so there will have to be some decisions made. Shulin is so tired of Minister Cui. He has shown up at her bath and blind date. He even invited himself to their kite flying. 🤣😂ShuLin has had enough but Cui reminds her he is using the examples she herself pulled on him. He has no other reference points on heart matters. 🤣😂 This is a valid point but she assures him that her actions were what NOT to do 🤣😂I don’t think for a minute he’s that obtuse. It is teasing her back for her carefree actions on him. I am not sure how he can have a relationship and keep her gender a secret, but if there is a way to accomplish it, Cui seems determined to find it. I respect his incentive and tenacity. Shulin has met her perfect match. 🤣😂Crown Prince is patting himself on the back after assisting XiHe find a solution for Cui’s replacement. He is all smiles til he is clutching his chest as the poison hurls pain through his system. There is so much he wants to do and so little unknown time left to him. Next episode seems he might be pushed hard for another wife and he is not happy with XiHe’s reaction. Hope just a preview mislead for reaction.🫣

The princess hug and The ancestral hall

The First attempt of MurongQingyi to expose SuSu identity ends up Su Su fell to the pond and QY is saving her while covering her face. Now SuSu confesses to QY that she is SuSu but doesn't not tell her true intention for past and present. The whole sequence of identity exposure leads to The ancestral hall scene, this is the most satisfying scene so far and that cliffhangers ending. see u in 6:00 pm MurongQingyi and SuSu.

The First attempt

After MurongQingyi confirm Ren SuSu, he tries to expose her true identity. The whole episode is a thrill of being caught and escape. The first intro of our 3rd CP is surprisedly good , so much sassy and tension. And the kitchen scene, yeah 💯. And MurongQingyi and chess pieces 🔥🥵🔥

Tell me what un expected else from living…

Tell me what un expected else from living together with Sorn? That was more than obvious they're gonna end on bed. Thai and Champ pair is so opposite to Jun and Sorn that it probably couldn't be more, so elegant, delicate, mature.Waiting for the grils tho!!

The confession and confrontation

After they have a certain period of letter exchange and spending time together in the city ,Su Su decides to leave but the confession of MurongQingyi makes her stay a little longer as now they are lovers. Which leadd to the whole closure off their relationship in the most brutal way .My favorite thing is how the plot sequence directly jumps from confession kiss to confrontation kiss. The powerful performance from both Linghe and Churan. And ,the train scene, top cinematography, top acting and over the top sadomasochism. You feel the pain for every year drop and every twitch. The best episode so far.

Sister - in - Law

Imagine the pain of your lover coming to u as your brother fiancee, I think the fact alone make me completely crazy. Yeah , our MurongQingyi is so mad meanwhile SuSu is putting on a face that she doesn't know anything. Love the tension in this epi. Then, three years ago storyline kicks in.

Welcome to Republican Era

It has been so long to have such a chaotic character entry scene in drama. Diva, over the top air, dramatic , feeling of stepping into their magical world with our protagonists and antagonists. The whole sequence of chaos started and ended in same epi and then dropped the cliffhangers intro for next episode. That's the type of storytelling style that I love the most . It's the red curtain cinema I long for, melodramatic, chaotic, moody, enchanting atmosphere, extreme character and emotion plus the close up emo shots. I know it sounds exaggerated but this is the best Linghe project so far hitting every notes of me from epi 1.( P.S u will find out there are so many noise about ai intro and short drama debate .I know it is a personal opinion but I found it amusing cuz some viewers are bashing the ai technology as a sin for art meanwhile they're bashing the whole short drama industry as cheap and worthless. It's really funny and feel sad at the same time.)

All a bit of a mess.

Very messy first episode. Direction is choppy, lots of information dropped in too quickly without the chance to absorb it adequately. There is obviously an elaborate backstory, but not enough has been given to make it compelling. The visuals are opulent, but very small scale. I expected to want to binge the first 5 eps but have paused after the first in favour of watching other dramas I have on the go, so not invested at this stage. Will still give it a go for ZLH. I hope it improves for his sake!

Even more plot-induced stupidity

Ugh. I really hope this burns in a lesson to Hu Fei's head so he can stop being so stupid. Ever since the end of the prequel and the start of his 'grown up' storyline he's become an idiot. Please, please script writers. Make it stop.

The funeral and the breakdown

When all those people arrived at the funeral, and then the video with grandma talking.... they really are not sparing me... 😭🤧Her being so tired after the funeral, leading to her passing out while the house filled with gas, and then that breakdown in the hospital... She's been through so much in her life, and she's only 18. 💔 I am relieved XiXiao was by her side when all of that happened, so he could comfort her and soothe her. 🥹❤️I hoped I wouldn't see the mother in this episode, but there she was, not knowing what had happened, singing her same old song about money. 🙄 And to say her sadness is genuine... my foot! 😤 I want XiXiao not to go abroad and I think he might not — if not for any other reason, then at least to stay with Wan, because she's in a terrible shape at the moment. 🥺🙏

Naive, trusting idiots

I've seen this again and again in wuxia dramas but it's so frustrating at just how stupid and naive the two male leads, Hu Fei and Miao Renfeng are suddenly made out to be. It's absurdly out of character based on their prior life experiences. But the writers have chosen to make them stupid in order to create plot dramas. Love so much about the series but have really not liked what they've done to both characters now that the prequel is over and they are in the 'current' storyline. Hopefully this plot-induced idiocy will only last a short time once they have setup the drama crisis that their stupidity is leading up to.
