Loved everything about it

This year has been a drama slump for me, couldn't seem to really get into dramas this year and only a few of them have really left an impression on me, this drama being one of them. To me it was a refreshing change of plot without the usual tropes being involved. In most dramas, I tend to find the secondary plot a bit of a drag, terribly sorry to most dramas, but I do not care what the villain is up to, like leave me guessing or just don't show the evil dude, like I really could not care at all what he is up to. And I hate to admit that I am like this with secondary leads as well. I am here for the main plot and no supporting characters that take up most of the screen time. I know the evil dude and the plots have big roles but could I care ? Not one bit. There is stupidity in either main plot, evil dude story or secondary plot. I can't handle stupidity x3. Glad to say this isn't one of these dramas and that really helped me out of said slump.

I love the visuals and the writing of this. I love how both leads are powerful in their own right. It really is rare to see leads be powerful in an equal setting, most of the time it is the ml being more powerful and resourceful than the fl, which is nice but gets a bit boring for me. I love it when a fl is powerful and can equally match the ml in terms of power and it is justified too. She was a crown prince and a general. Like yes she is that girl.

I also love the shameless of the ml, I do not like leng bing bing mls, and I am happy to say that ji bozai did not disappoint. The female lead also had her own moments and really matched the vibe of the couple well. I just feel like leads pairing really was so good and evenly matched. One thing that does bother is how some people were saying like the fl should've told the ml sooner about being poisoned and for that I have to say like I loved that she held out on her secret for as long as she did, to me it was nice to see that she try to solve her inner conflict about either dying or betraying him, for as long as she did. To me it showed that she didn't take the matter lightly.
Also, the fact that she held onto her secret of being ming xian for as long as she did, consider me impressed. Usually, the ml would like figure it out instantly or just within a short period of time, but girly held tight to that secret like her life depended on it, cause it did, like if she revealed it, she would be betraying him as her previously mentioned secret would be exposed. I love it when a plot, like actually plots and puts importance on the small things. I also love the angst that came with it.

Basically there is not much that I do not love about this drama. Only the airing schedule that was a pain and a half, what do you men one episode a day for some days? That is over as it is completed.

A Heavenly Blend of Chemistry, Charm, and CGI

Totally fell in love with every single thing about the drama!!! Absolutely loved it! The details are amazing. I literally couldn't stop watching it. There wasn't a moment that I felt bored while I was watching this drama.
A Masterpiece I dare say, this drama includes everything enemies-lovers, comedy, stunning visuals, amazing plot and the cast caried the whole story so well.
And can we take a moment to appreciate the visuals absolute fest for eyes. The main leads chemistry ugh....so freaking good! This is not a typical drama where you watch the ML protect the FL every single time, they both protect each other and trust each other so much.

In xianxia mostly the ending goes like one of the leads die and the other lead waits for them to be reborn/reincarnated and I did expect the same from this drama too. But the ending absolutely blew my mind away it was unseen and it couldn't get any more perfect ending imo. They both decide to go through everything together life or death and they overcome it.

Also I wanted to mention the 2nd ML although I was kind of annoyed with him at the start with the stalking and trying to get her with force, the ending threw me away I was nearly sobbing. No matter what I thought of him in the beginning the ending slightly changed my perspective. He had all the power he needed at the end but when he saw he trying to sacrifice herself he probably regretted it. And his last words my god I felt so bad for him. He wasn't a bad person but his obsession and the others made him that way.

A must-watch if you ask me. If you're looking for something fresh with with a hint of everything in it definitely go for it!

It's only 12 episodes, just watch it and support a Chinese BL

OVERALL (no spoilers in this section):

Is this the best show I've ever seen? No, but it doesn't need to be any better to be worth watching.

As you watch the show, you can almost see a much more sophisticated version that's just out of reach, if only this had been 40 episodes with a bigger budget. The story itself is excellent, based on a novel, and especially appealing if you like star-crossed lovers, morally grey characters and complicated relationships (this is a wuxia as well, if that sweetens the deal). The main problem with the show is that it has to pack a long and winding story into 12 short episodes. As a result, the script and the acting do not have the luxury of being subtle. They are forced to hit you over the head with blatantly obvious statements of character motivation and feeling, and the viewer doesn't have much time to marinate on the plight of each character before the next thing happens. However, instead of feeling frustrated by the pacing, I found it almost comical. Just strap in for a quick zipline from start to finish, and treat the heavy-handed performances as a source of amusement rather than a blight on the show.

I started and finished this show because I love costume dramas and I love danmei, and I think for those reasons alone it's worth watching. Not every show we watch can be a masterpiece, but that doesn't mean we can't enjoy a less-than-perfect drama that had a lot of heart :)

THE GOOD:

- The story is great, and I will definitely be reading the novel. The main plot is predictable and low-stakes, but the character relationships are quite surprising

- The character growth for Xiaobao is well-done, if a little too fast. He starts the show as a naive young man, thinks he knows exactly what love is, and is convinced he can save his gūniang/gōngzī by showering him with gifts and empty promises. As the plot progresses, he learns that choosing to love someone is difficult and involves hard choices, forgiveness, and sacrifice.

- The Duke is a fascinating character. If anyone's performance is subtle, it's his. His true feelings and motivations are never spoken aloud, and the viewer is left to guess about his true feelings towards Xiaobao. His inclusion in the story is a good representation of the "proper path" for Xiaobao, which comes with respect and social status but seems to also carry a sense of dissatisfaction and longing that the Duke seems to exude

- I loved Xiaobao's costume in the early episodes, as well as the Jin mansion set

THE BAD:

- Xiaobao's reaction to the sexual assault that leaves him in a coma for 2 days (!!) is bizarrely underplayed. He wakes up and has an almost comical reaction of shaking his fist and saying "you bastard -- I'll get you back for this!". I know his character makes light of things, especially in the early episodes, but they should have treated the SA with a lot more weight & sincerity

- I barely knew who any of the characters were, besides Xiaobao and Huai'en's main circle. I never quite got a handle on the princes and their relationship. The voice-over at the beginning of Ep1 was not enough of an explanation to make everything clear.

- How many times did Huai'en really need to get stabbed in the chest? 4 times was too many

- There's plenty more that can be considered "bad", most of which is the result of too few episodes and not enough money, which I can't hold against the show. For example, I was left with some questions like "why is Huai'en staying at the Jin mansion for so long?" and "How long was Xiaobao actually poisoned for?", but I'm sure most of those questions would have been answered if the show had been longer

Weird…

Okay. This drama is not the best, definitely, and let me tell you why.

The comedy is super cheesy. With cheesy falls, cheesy punches, cheesy effects, etc. Though for me this thing is not that bad. It’s still cute and funny. Next, is the FL and ML’s love journey. I don’t feel a thing🙂. Yes, they do have romantic scenes, but it just didn’t register in my head and their romantic scenes looked more like a brother-sister bicker. Their chemistry feels like siblings-chemistry, not romantic love chemistry. However! That do resonate with the ending.

I love the ending. He didn’t take it too seriously and seemed like he cried because the ending is bad, not because he actually fell in love with her. You know, like how we cry after a sad ending type thing— We cry because the ending is sad, but have no attachments with the characters.

So yeah. The acting is good, hanfus are okay, story-wise… a bit simple to my liking but it’s still acceptable, cinematography is okay.

I give an overall score 5/10. It’s average— not bad but also not that good.

A messy plot with decent actors and missed opportunities

For a drama with such a nice title, I was expecting something abit more mature.

It is clear that they went with an overall direction that is meant to please younger audiences with over the top editing, slow mow, fighting scenes, visual effects, stylish poses etc. Same with how they directed the FL and ML and their romance.

The show had many good premises, but it ended up being an absolute mess of story line.

1. Forced arranged marriage where a smart and defiant FL is not scared of ML, eventually aligning in solving cases together.
2. An empress dowager regent trying to fend off the wolves and protecting the throne for her grandson whilst also trying to promote women into power and Official positions.
3. Marshall Xu raising a bottom up police force to fight off the crimes of the nobles.
4. A sect spreading throughout the state brainwashing people and threatening the safety of the state and the throne

Any of these premises would have worked as a great drama in itself, but combined together, it was very chaotic. I definitely feel like it's a wasted potential, I wish the story line was consolidated and targeted towards more mature audiences. If they truly wanted to go with a silly romance and over the top action with good looking actors, they didn't need to go with such a convoluted plot.

Now, in terms of the premise of the show, FL acts according to her age, she is supposed to be young and willfull, so they went in that direction both woth how she acts and the romance itself. The actress in real life is very young, so making it the most sexy, steamy drama isn't very fitting in this instance. The story itself would have worked if the FL was older, almost considered "spinster" in those times. It would have been fun to see a "discarded" FL that has career ambitions slowly win over the scary and unapproachable ML. No need for the childhood connection.

There are some really interesting characters in the show, the actors do great/decent job. I appreciate some of the storylines in the drama, like FLs family and the empress dowager regent. It's a drama that is totally fine to watch in the background, but has little rewatch value, and relies on many tired tropes and this very empty feminism agenda.

I would give this a 6.5/10 in MDL scale. I fastforwarded alot of the last 10 episodes, because most of the scenes didnt really add much to the story.

Khemjira: The Series — Where Fate, Fear, and Love Collide in the Most Hauntingly Beautiful Way

I’ve recently been watching Khemjira: The Series, and I have to say—it’s one of the most emotionally layered and visually stunning Thai dramas I’ve seen in a while. From the very first episode, the story pulled me in with its unique blend of folklore, spirituality, and emotional storytelling. The premise itself is fascinating: Khemjira, a young man born into a family cursed so that all male heirs die before the age of twenty-one, is given a feminine name in hopes of tricking fate. Watching him navigate his identity, fears, and growing feelings while confronting generational destiny makes for such a powerful viewing experience.

What really struck me is how beautifully the series captures atmosphere and emotion. The cinematography is breathtaking—misty forests, candle-lit rituals, and intimate close-ups that capture every flicker of fear and tenderness. It’s more than just a supernatural BL story; it’s about courage, belonging, and self-acceptance. Namping Napatsakorn Pingmuang (as Khem) delivers such a nuanced performance—vulnerable yet quietly brave. Harit Buayoi (as Pharan), his protector and spiritual guide, brings a grounded, calming energy that perfectly balances Khem’s uncertainty. Their chemistry is one of the show’s strongest elements; the way they look at each other conveys so much trust, care, and unspoken love.

The second leads and their storyline adds even more emotional depth to the overall plot and is not disconnected . Their subplot mirrors the main theme of love, fear, and sacrifice in a completely different but equally moving way. Their interactions show another side of what it means to protect the people you care about, and I loved how their relationship intertwines with Khem and Pharan’s journey. The chemistry among all four leads feels organic and heartfelt, giving the series multiple layers of connection and tension that keep it engaging from start to finish.

What I admire most is how Khemjira doesn’t rely on cheap scares or predictable tropes. Instead, it slowly unfolds its mystery through emotion and symbolism, allowing us to really feel the characters’ internal struggles. The horror elements heighten the story’s emotional impact rather than overshadow it. It’s a rare kind of show that balances spirituality, romance, and suspense so seamlessly.

Overall, Khemjira: The Series is haunting, tender, and unforgettable. It’s the kind of drama that stays with you long after the episode ends—not just for its beautiful visuals, but for the way it explores fate, fear, and the power of love in the face of the unknown. I’d highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys stories that blend the mystical with the deeply human.

The Best Version of 'Hana Yori Dango' Plot-Wise!! (Note: PLOT-WISE)

Of all the adaptations of 'Hana Yori Dango' (Boys Over Flowers), I think the Thai one is by far the best when it comes to the execution of events, plot twists and resolutions, and character developments.

While I loved this version a lot, let me go first on the negative side.

I'll be honest, I did not enjoy it as much as I did with the Taiwanese, Korean, and Chinese ones. Maybe because one factor is that I know how the story revolves already, and I've seen enough tropes because all adaptations have similarities. I'm also mature and old enough to get too invested in this kind of genre and romance. Another downside why I did not enjoy it as much is because of the acting skills, especially the one playing Thyme (Tsukasa in the OG).

(1) Thyme (Akira Paramaanantra) is really a very promising character, and of all the ones playing Tsukasa, the Thai version got the best character development while still sticking with the original vibe. He's also very handsome; his visuals really suit that rich boy with a bratty personality.

However, it was just disappointing that his acting skills were not as impressive as I had expected before starting (I read some of the reviews before watching and many reviews said that the ML did well. I think I should not believe what the majority always says). Other actors who played Tsukasa did better (yeah, even Lee Min Ho/Go Jun Pyo, who many viewers hated, did better when it comes to facial and eye expressions). If the actor did better with his eye expressions, for sure, I'd love him in all versions.

Anyway, I'm not saying that Bright was really a bad actor; he did well with the happy and silly sides of Thyme—it felt genuine. But when he was acting angry, annoyed, or disappointed, I couldn't understand his facial expressions. (see for yourselves, future viewers)

(2) Another downside is the camera work. There were a lot of episodes where the shots weren't very stable, had cheap execution, and felt like they were made for a small film making (like a school project). This series is Boys Over Flowers, the series that has been adapted into many different versions and has been famous for many years. It didn't deserve the kind of camera work and cinematography that felt cheap, especially in this age where film editing is more advanced than when the other versions were made.

(3) Having many ads was one of the things that irritated me here. I get that the series needed a lot of sponsors, but why did I feel like the series was made just to advertise? It tarnished a bit of its genuineness.

---------

Now, I'm going to talk about the positive ones.

(1) Gorya and Thyme's mother. I think they were the ones that kept me watching this series. The actresses did well portraying their characters, and they made the series so interesting.

So far, I love how the writer/director made this version of Tsukushi Makino (OG), and she's one of the versions that had better decision-making and was not very annoying. Gorya's character was more realistic and not a total goody-goody. She was not very impulsive, and she showed wit and a strong personality as she should. She really carried what a strong, independent girl should.

As for Thyme's mother, aside from her beautiful yet intimidating looks, she really did well in making me feel so pissed and annoyed. Also, it really showed what a rich, condescending businesswoman should be like. To add, her English was so fluent that it added to the character. I'm not saying that competency in English reflects on one's social status, but as the series portrayed, their company is the biggest and at the top in the country (and internationally) and it was expected that English was most used in the field, so it is expected for someone like Thyme's mother to be so fluent in it, which, in other versions made me think like: "They sounded like they did not use English, study it, and lived in an English-speaking country for many years". I think she's the baddest (most wicked) of all the ML's mothers in all versions LOL. I also loved her facial expressions when she was both angry and sad. The actress did so well that I ended up liking her (my favorite by far).

(2) Uniqueness. Yes, this is another version of 'Hana Yori Dango', but I love how they creatively revised the story in a modern and less toxic way, in which the OG readers/viewers would check out with excitement. The plot development was so visible, no forced episodes (just don't include the ads). Also, for each conflict, the resolutions were clear and ended properly, even for Thyme's mother's internal conflict. The bullying case was resolved and had a proper closure. I love the added characters like Uncle Ga and the two maids. I also love how they did Gorya's brother a bit grown, not a kid, and that brother contributed a lot to the plot's flow. 16 episodes were just enough to cover everything.

(3) Character development. Everybody's development was very evident, especially for the ML. I loved how he really decided to become a better version of himself, and that ideal was tested at the far end, and it was successfully executed. F4 guys here were more intact and the three helped the ML in his journey to become a better person. In the name of love and friendship, a person can change for the better. Whatever he/she does, not just in one's personal life, but even in the business field. The production made sure to include this theme to break the main conflict of the story. It was not even forced—it was slowly and smoothly executed. The redemption was there!

(4) Satisfactory ending. I loved it. Everybody got the ending they deserved, and it was more realistic. If I were to include more scenes, maybe I would want to see Thyme, Tia, and their mother having their hotpot together (Auntie Yu could be included). It would be perfect!

(5) Stuck with the Thai humor. I don't really watch Thai series a lot, but I've been to Thailand for a year before, and it was so evident how the series showed us Thai humor—which I enjoyed seeing.

---------

It took me one month to finish this series. As I have mentioned, I did not enjoy it as much as I did with the other versions. But this did not mean that the series was not interesting or whatnot, it's actually the best for me. I just hope that the actors did better with their acting. I felt like the majority who did well acting-wise were comprised of females (like Gorya, Thyme's mother, Lita, Mira, and Kaning). So far, among the male actors, I like the one who portrayed MJ. He's so cool. At first, I didn't like the acting skills of the ones portraying Ren and Kavin, but later, they redeemed themselves, especially Ren (the proposal part!!). Just that the one portraying Thyme did not have a lot of improvement acting-wise up to the end (just a little, ig). I hoped that Bright, by now, has improved his eye expressions.

Good watch! If you want the version of Hana Yori Dango with a lot of character development, improved plot and tropes, no forced episodes, and an impactful ending, then this is highly recommended.

Favorite character: Gorya
Least favorite: so far, none (I don't even dislike the mean girls, maybe June---Gorya's first friend)

Favorite actor: Cindy Sirinya Bishop (Thyme's mother)
Least favorite: Bright Vachirawit Chivaaree (Thyme)

Favorite scene: Ren's proposal / Thyme coming to Gorya when she was bullied while Kaning's motorbike was burning
Least favorite: all scenes with ads!!

Memorable scene: Gorya crying on the train

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Comparing all versions. If you easily get offended when it comes to comparisons, then no need to read this part.

Original Material: Hana Yori Dango (Boys Over Flowers) by Yoko Kamio (manga series)

Favorite versions: Thai and Chinese versions
Memorable versions: Korean and Taiwanese versions
Least favorite version: Korean version

Adaptation w/ the Best Plot: Thai version
Best Characterization: Thai version
Best Actors: Taiwanese & Chinese versions
Best OSTs: Korean version (favorites: 'Yearning Heart' by A'ST1, 'Lucky' by Ashily, 'Love You' by HowL)

Best version of Tsukushi Makino: Gorya (Thai version)
Least best: Jan Di (Korean version)

Best version of Tsukasa Domyouji: Dao Ming Si (Chinese)
Least: Jun Pyo (Korean)

Sorry, I've never seen the Japanese one because I am not very fond of Japanese live action series (is it just me? But whatever adaptations they have feel forced, and the acting isn't givin'. I'd rather read manga or watch anime).

The Korean version was actually my OG version. I was compelled to watch it at first because my grandma really loved it but I grew to love it the first time I saw it. This was also the reason why I started watching Lee Min Ho's next series after it. It was so memorable and nostalgic for me.

The Korean version was the reason I checked out the OG (manga) and the other versions. Meteor Garden (Taiwanese Version) was so popular back then, but I was too young to remember, which is why I considered the Korean version to be the first one for me to watch. The Korean version was a big hit back then, too, and it was one of the reasons why K-dramas became so popular. It was one of my favorites back then.

But of course, with the existence of other adaptations, I must say that the Korean one is the least good and the most toxic, and the FL is also the most annoying (be it both the character or the portrayer's acting skill). I just realized that as I got older and rewatched it more than 2 times.

Inspired by When the Phone Rings but my gosh the writing & acting were poor

I was in the mood for Xie Yu Wang dramas so I picked this one because it was short. It turns out that this drama was inspired by kdrama When the Phone Rings. That's my favourite drama from last year so I had some expectations for this drama. This drama is literally fated to sink - I was utterly disappointed.

What I liked:
1. Kisses - Great kissing scenes courtesy of Xie Yu Wang.
2. Actor's set - FL was an actress who got a role in a movie / tv drama. I actually enjoyed the filming scenes. She deserved to be scolded by director in the first shoot for not taking her wedding ring off.
3. Supporting character - I liked ML's assistant.
4. Length - Thank gosh this drama was less than 100 minutes. I did increase speed to finish it quickly.

What I disliked:
1. FL characterisation - I knew she was young but my gosh I found her childish and silly. She was unhappy with ML's tracking her moves (rightfully so) therefore retaliated by pranking him. She
deliberately sought a phone & technology to do so.
2. Romance - I didn't buy it at all with FL's immature behaviour. There were a lot of assumptions made by both side - they hardly communicated.
3. Plot - Some elements were borrowed from the kdrama e.g. forced marriage, special phone, pranking, threats via intimate photos / info. While I appreciated that this drama isn't a carbon copy of WTPR, the writing itself is poor. I was disengaged the moment FL staged a kidnapping.
4. Acting - The main actress's performance was bad. She played an actress who got leading role but my gosh she was not charismatic nor outstanding. There wasn't chemistry with Xie Yu Wang.
5. Antagonists - FL's mother was despicable for selling FL to settle her debt. I also disliked the lady who seduced ML.

Favourite scene
When FL was scolded by the director for not taking off her wedding ring

Fu Yun Zhe Shen Yuan(2025) is a rebirth drama with Xiao Wen Yu (as Ning Yuan) and Shu Xue Man (as Yun Yan) in the leading couple’s role. This drama has the husband swapping plot and Yun Yan is the center of the as she seeks justice from her previous life. The drama could have been better if the lead female character was acted with more warmth and better facial expressions. Overall, this drama has a lot of noisy dialogue and the most of the cast had exaggerated and overacted scenes.
In the meantime, this drama can be found in YouTube under the caption: “Reborn, I swapped husbands with my sister—now I’m treated like a queen!” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFiWUBjGfdY)

This show is not understandable!

Okay, I had enough and dropped the show after Ep 4. What. The. Fuck. Is. Happening.
N'Pan's character is so annoying, why was he crashing out every five minutes, I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT'S GOING ON. It's a mess! And don't get me started on the whole story because I don't even understand what is this about. Like I get it that it's supposed to be a 'BL world reality' but it's not good at all and unrealisticly portrayed.

If you're looking for a story that captivates you with its melancholy, beauty, and emotional depth, Call It Love is the K-drama you've been waiting for. Far from the clichés of romantic comedies, this series offers a mature and subtle melodrama about revenge, forgiveness, healing, and love that blossoms in the most unexpected circumstances.

The series is a visual delight. With its muted color palette and cool tones, Call It Love perfectly reflects the loneliness and pain of the protagonists. Every scene feels like a work of art, enhancing the emotional weight of the story.

The protagonists, Shim Woo-joo (Lee Sung-kyung) and Han Dong-jin (Kim Young-kwang), are portrayed with heartbreaking authenticity. Their lives have been marked by abandonment and loneliness, but the way they find comfort and support in each other is deeply moving.

Don’t expect a fiery or rushed romance. The love between Woo-joo and Dong-jin develops slowly, through glances, silences, and small gestures that speak louder than words. It’s a connection built on empathy and mutual understanding of their traumas, making it incredibly real and powerful.

Beyond the romance, the series explores the complexities of family relationships, the weight of past mistakes, and the need to forgive in order to move forward. The supporting characters and their own healing arcs add vital depth to the narrative.

Call It Love is a gem for those who appreciate a slow pace and stories that prioritize introspection and genuine emotion. It’s a drama that makes you feel, reflect, and remember that true love can arise even in the most unexpected places.

This was such a fun and lighthearted comedy to watch! The show nailed it with its clever take on real-life. The whole cast gave a good performance, but Joke, Nani, and Prem were the standouts for me. Joke deserves major props for bringing to life a seductive con artist leading a cult and manipulating his followers. His performance was flawless from start to finish.

It was my first time seeing Nani act, and I was genuinely impressed. Comedy is tough, but he nailed it! Wutkrai was hilarious , a total mess, ridiculously lucky, and sweet in the most innocent way.

And my baby Prem? Just wow. He completely blew me away in this role. He started off as someone trying to investigate and expose the cult led by “Father,” but as the series went on, you could see those subtle flashes of madness in his eyes. That final episode was chef’s kiss , absolutely perfect.

So much hype about this drama on the feed. Let's check this out.

The story is about Wu Qi Qiong (QQ), a young man from a poor family. QQ gets dumped by his girlfriend, Yue Yue (YY), simply because of his background. Not only that—YY who’s now dating a rich guy, repeatedly insults and even assaults QQ together with her new lover.

In one of these encounters, QQ is injured and ends up at a private clinic run by Dr. Guo Cheng Yu (CY). CY treats him, and they become friends. QQ also starts living at the clinic.

Humiliated and heartbroken, QQ decides to reinvent himself. He changes his name to Wu Suo Wei (SW) and vows to reclaim his dignity. He dreams of rebuilding his life and launching his own business one day, not for money, but to reclaim his dignity.

As SW steps into this new chapter, he frequently crosses paths with Chi Cheng (CC), the spoiled heir to a powerful family business. When SW finds out that CC is now dating his ex, YY, he decides to take revenge—by seducing CC himself.

Even though SW has no interest in men, he commits to the plan. He even asks CY for advice on how to seduce another man.

But here’s the twist: **CC is actually gay.** He’s only dating YY to keep his parents off his back. And truthfully, he’s been interested in SW from the very beginning. And so begins a playful yet dangerous game of cat and mouse between them.

As SW spends more time with CC, he begins to see the real man behind the cold, arrogant façade. CC isn’t just a privileged heir; he’s trapped, lonely, and hiding who he truly is.

And before SW realizes it… To his own surprise, his feelings begin to shift. What started as a game of revenge slowly turns into something real—something romantic.

So, how will this unexpected love story unfold?
Will CC’s family accept them—or will they face serious opposition?
And also…
What happens when CC finds out why SW first got close to him?
Will CC be hurt? Angry? Will CC be able to forgive SW—or will it tear them apart?

That's pretty much the story without giving anymore spoilers. Now what I like and don't.

What I like:
+ How cdrama finally dared to put BL drama into the air…
+ The interesting story of the 2nd couple, CY & Jiang Xiao Shuai (XS)
+ Interesting friendships between CC & XS or SW & CY
+ interesting choices of names. You can read more in https://kisskh.at/discussions/793270-revenged-love/142836-the-hidden-meaning-behind-the-names-in-revenged-love

What I don't like:
- Interesting concepts. But quite lacking in implementation. Especially in the end. It feels like they skip a few steps ahead.

Overall I feel this is more like an overhyped drama…

It's entertaining to watch and makes you miss the main characters.

The only characters I liked and who were really worth it are Ku Doo-Won and Um Jae-Il. The others annoyed me because they showed no interest or simply thought they knew everything. There were several moments that caught my attention and that, for me, touched on things that are dealt with in real life working in the health field. It's entertaining to watch after the first few episodes. I absolutely loved the appearance of the Hospital Playlist characters; it was so heartwarming to see them back on screen with those characters, I couldn't stop getting emotional and that gives it an extra incentive to keep watching until the end, because you don't know who will appear in the next chapter. 🙂‍↔️✨

Even though the storyline is pretty intriguing with players forced to adapt, even if it means betraying or manipulating others, and facing their own traumas to survive, the slow pacing and lack of real tension kind of killed my excitement. The ending didn’t surprise me. I knew the game wouldn’t end that easily. Plus, it hints at a second season, but honestly, I doubt we’ll ever get one.
