The expectations ruined it for others. I went in blind, and I actually enjoyed it.

I watched with zero expectations because I hadn’t seen the cast or trailer beforehand. I think that’s why I ended up liking it so much.

All the people who hate it probably had a different vision for what the drama should be, so they could only judge it against that.

I really liked the comedic aspect . I think they did a great job mixing action and comedy. I watched it in just two days and stayed interested from start to finish.

The elite casting choices were chef’s kiss. I was never a huge fan of Hyung Sik before, but I actually loved him in this. The story could have been executed a bit better in some parts, but overall, the idea and experience were really enjoyable. I’d definitely love another season.

P.S. Don’t mind all the hate it gets. Just don’t go in with sky-high expectations, and you’ll probably enjoy it too.

A heartfelt journey about sound, connection, and the spirit of music

𝗚𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 isn’t just a drama — it’s an experience. From its opening scene, it captures the essence of what it means to live, breathe, and communicate through sound. Watching it as both a viewer and a musician, I felt a deep recognition that went beyond words — an honesty that understands how sound, emotion, and memory can intertwine until they become inseparable.

What makes this series stand out is its 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆. It explores how 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰 can shape and consume us — the way it defines who we are, challenges our limits, and sometimes makes us lose our sense of self. For those who truly love 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰, it’s more than just art; it’s spiritual, physical, and mental all at once. Whether through synesthesia, perfect pitch, or simply a soul attuned to sound, 𝗚𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 captures that deep connection — and shows both its beauty and its danger.

The 𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 is breathtaking. Every detail — the blend of nature, silence, instruments, and technology — creates an emotional landscape you can feel as much as you hear. The chemistry between the leads complements that perfectly. Their connection isn’t loud or dramatic — it’s quiet, intuitive, and deeply musical. They communicate not just through words but through rhythm, tone, and shared silence. It’s a story about people learning to reason with one another, to 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰 when words fall short.

Some scenes have a 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗽𝗽𝘆, dreamlike quality where reality, sound, and emotion start to blur. The show plays with perception — sometimes you don’t know if you’re hearing music or feeling it. One sequence with the female drummer especially stood out, reminiscent of 𝗪𝗵𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗵: the exhausting repetition, trembling hands, and relentless pursuit of perfection. It’s haunting in its quiet intensity — a vivid portrayal of how passion and obsession can overlap in the artist’s journey.

Beyond the music, 𝗚𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 also captures 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆, 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽, and 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 in ways that feel sincere, if not perfect. The romance is the weakest link — understated and emotionally distant — but that’s not what this story truly aims for. What it does embody is the idea of being a 𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗸𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿: not one who stands alone, but one who stands 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿. These characters find their strength as a band — united through sound, struggle, and shared purpose. They become more than performers; they become 𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 by daring to be vulnerable together.

What impressed me most is how it portrays 𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 as both gift and burden. It’s not just about talent or passion — it’s about vulnerability, confidence, and the courage it takes to share your truth with the world. There’s a raw honesty here that many 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰 dramas avoid. And it’s surprisingly full of emotional turns and musical revelations — moments that catch you off guard and remind you how unpredictable inspiration can be.

But beneath all its style and atmosphere lies a simple, powerful message:
it doesn’t matter what others think or who doubts you. If you have determination and a 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 that comes from the heart, you can create something beautiful. Even when no one believes in you yet, your sound will eventually reach the people it’s meant for.

In the end, 𝗚𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 captures the 𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰 in all its forms — its chaos, its peace, its love, its pain, its surprises, and its trance-like pull — and translates it into something profoundly human. It’s about 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘆, and 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰 — the one language that never lies. I won’t get into the technical aspects or accuracy of the notes being played, because this is still a show — but that creative leniency is part of why the rating isn’t higher. Emotionally, though, it hits all the right notes.

Pros:
✔ Stunning 𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 and emotional use of music
✔ Chemistry that feels raw, natural, and deeply felt
✔ Honest portrayal of the 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗹𝗲 and artistic sensitivity
✔ Touching depictions of 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆, 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽, and shared purpose
✔ Dreamlike, immersive atmosphere with 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗽𝗽𝘆 visual rhythm
✔ Powerful 𝗪𝗵𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗵-like moments showing artistic obsession
✔ Surprising emotional turns that feel authentic and moving
✔ The 𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗸𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿 captured through unity, courage, and expression

Cons:
✘ Romance feels underdeveloped and emotionally distant
✘ Pacing may feel slow or abstract for viewers unfamiliar with artistic storytelling
✘ Some of its symbolism may resonate more deeply with musicians than casual audiences
✘ Creative liberties in performance accuracy keep it from reaching perfection

Would I rewatch?
Absolutely. It’s the kind of story that deserves to be experienced again — with headphones on, lights dimmed, and your heart wide open.

Very wacky but in a good way. I had a blast watching it and it made me cry real tears. Also, fell in love again with Kim Woo Bin's acting. His comedic timing really carried a huge part of the show. Chemistry with Suzy was amazing. Suzy's acting really surprised me. She was so good. All supporting cast across the board were spot on. Especially the Haelmonis. The cameos were chaotic , hilarious, moving, unexpected, the meta references felt perfect. Also, I feel they really landed the ending, which most dramas struggle with.
Overall I experienced the whole gamut of emotions the show was selling. I laughed hard, felt giddy with joy, and was moved to tears. One of the best shows for me this year in terms of pure entertainment value. Chaotic, hilarious and moving are the keywords for this drama.
P.S: Even though I don't speak Arabic, I could tell the accents were not great. Wish they dubbed the Arabic for authenticity. But since my untrained ears could easily tune them out, it did not reduce my enjoyment of the show. They attempted something novel and unique, how successful that is will be a very subjective experience for each viewer.

An interesting watch

In the first half of the show it was probably one of the best dramas out there 2 mentally stimulating intelligent people involved in a supreme battle of wits then after the 2nd half came it just turned into a bland cliche story but i would encourage everyone to watch even if it's just for the first half

"Miss the Dragon: Stunning Looks, Messy Plot – My Honest Take”

I first watched Miss the Dragon around the time it aired, which was also when my C-drama obsession began 😅📺. Back then, I rated it 9.5/10, but looking back now… lmao, my memory of it being “good” feels a bit hilarious 😂. Even though it holds nostalgia as one of the first dramas I ever watched, revisiting it shows just how messy it really is.

💔 What Went Wrong

Illogical Plot & Confusing Storytelling 🤯
The plot is all over the place. The female lead (FL) starts as a servant, but her clothes, room, and lifestyle are ridiculously luxurious 🏰💎 — no explanation is given, which makes zero sense. The storyline is full of cliches and poorly thought-out twists, making it hard to follow who’s supposed to be the villain or why anything is happening 😵.

Underdeveloped Characters 😒
The main couple lacks chemistry 💔, making it difficult to care about their romance. Even the second lead couple, who are somewhat more interesting 🌱, don’t get enough development to feel fully engaging. Many interactions feel forced, and motivations are inconsistent 🤷‍♀️.

Acting & Dialogue Issues 🎭
The lead actors don’t quite bring their characters to life 😬. Dialogue often feels stiff, and emotional scenes fail to land. The supposed tension or romance between the main couple just doesn’t hit 💔.

Overused Fantasy Tropes 🐉
Reincarnation, constant misunderstandings, and repeated “drama triggers” make the story feel stretched and predictable ⏳. There’s no fresh take on these tropes, and it often drags rather than excites.

🌟 A Few Bright Spots

Visual Appeal & Costumes 👗✨
The drama looks beautiful — the sets, costumes, and cinematography are visually pleasing 🌸. Even if the story fails, your eyes are still entertained 👀.

Supporting Characters Show Promise 🌱
Some side characters are more engaging than the leads. With better writing, they could have made the story more enjoyable, but unfortunately, their potential isn’t fully realized 😔.

🔚 Final Verdict

Miss the Dragon is a classic style over substance drama 🎨💔. It’s enjoyable for nostalgia, visuals, or a light fantasy watch 🐉😅, but the plot, characters, and acting leave much to be desired. Perfect if you want a guilty-pleasure watch without expecting much logic or depth 🙃.

Korean Drug Agenda Strikes Again. Making a mistake = Unforgivable.

This review will contain spoilers to the ending of the drama - because I'm clearly upset, disappointed and dissatisfied with how they ended it. Becoming only an agenda piece, allow me to explain why.

From the first couple weeks of this drama airing, I knew it wouldn't have a typical happy ending for every character, because Kdramas have to make examples and lessons out of Drugs, that they will never forgive nor give redemption to wrongdoers.

First off we have Eun-soo and her family, with the regular middle class income. Not rich nor poor. When her husband, who has just come up with positive cancer results is in need of treatment, she finds a bag of drugs which a drug dealer has since lost. Her only hope of being able to save her husband and family in times of desperation is to sell the drugs for a heavy profit.

She works multiple jobs to try and make some money, one being at a club where sketchy stuff is happening and surrounding the people there. She runs into a Man named James, who's a drug dealer by night and an art teacher by day, to her own daughter nonetheless. They form a partnership and reluctantly work together to make money in the drug trade. Allow me to point out that neither of these characters ever TOOK any drugs themselves.

They run in circles quite a bit at first, only focusing on building their partnership and making drug runs. Barely any character development happens during the first three quarters of the drama. We get small clues and glimpses but no real backstory to James until about episode 10.

**HUGE SPOILER**

After Eun-soo and James turn themselves in for what they've done wrong, they spend some time on jail, then we have a time skip where they both get out and want to lead better lives now. Happy ending right? Wrong. They put us through a rollercoaster to where a good thing would happen, just when a tragedy would strike the next.

Eun-soo's daughter wants nothing to do with her after getting out of jail, her husband's now dead from the corrupt cop villain and she has nothing left and nobody who cares about her. (Every character in the end is extremely judgemental of their poor situations that led them to having to go to extreme lengths to aquire life saving money.)

Eun-soo and James say one final goodbye and tell each other to be happy, then they part ways.

Now here's the part that really made me mad.

Towards the end it's revealed that James was at a party and his friend took drugs and accidentally died by them, and his death was pinned on James. From what I understood, now he's trying to pay off something (honestly can't remember what) and his family hates him etc.

The final reveal was about how his Father was the one who orchestrated the pinning of his friends death on him for money, which James had been suicidal from years ago but found a reason to keep going because he wanted to prove to his father he could redeem himself and become favorable in his eyes.

The show ends with James finding out about what his father did and breaking down and yelling at him for ruining his life. He then walks out into traffic with no will to live, then walks up to and stands on a building ledge, about to jump off. He holds a pack of drugs and drops it over the side as we see a montage of Eun-soo finding another bag of drugs and being tempted by them to make more money, but she ultimately flushes them down the toilet and makes the decision to be done with that life.

We don't know whether James decides to jump because... The show just ends. No closure, no nothing. He was at his wits end and that's how they end it?!?

Now I don't know if it was the Writers choice to show two sides of the coin, one persons life ruined by Drugs and one persons life who could change from it, but if you look at how each character ended up, they both got the short end of the stick badly. And only to show "Just how terrible people who do drugs, sell drugs and have anything to do with drugs are!!" Even though our main characters are on the sympathetic side, pushed into extreme lengths due to poor circumstances and crappy human beings.

Kdramas can NEVER have a character who has done something morally and lawfully wrong, have a redemption arc or happy ending.

Hateful Agenda saying nobody is ever deserving of redemption, help or is capable of turning their life around. Both characters are now crap human beings and ostracized from everybody that ever cared about them. This kind of agenda is why South Korea has such high suicide rates, no grace or mercy, no forgiveness or showing that we as humans can change for the better even though we make mistakes.

When will they learn that their ideologies they hold are the reason human beings are offing themselves. So tired of this.

As for the quality of the drama, it's good not great. Some wonderful moments, some not so great moments that drag on. Not the worst watch, but after that ending, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. I suppose if you like one of the actors go for it, just be aware this exists as solely an agenda piece.

Disclaimer: No drugs aren't good and can destroy lives, but don't make it like everyone who gets involved is an unworthy scumbag and can't come back from it. That's just screwed up.

“A Hidden Gem of 2025: Walking on Thin Ice Keeps You Guessing Till the End”

Walking on Thin Ice” is such a hidden gem. The story’s tight, the suspense hits just right, and there’s not a single dull moment. Seriously, some K-drama writers should take notes — this is how you mix good characters, real tension, and solid storytelling without all the unnecessary filler.
If you’re looking for a drama that actually keeps you hooked and makes you think even after it’s over, this one’s totally worth your time

An Uncomfortable 'Romance'

I seem to fall into the unpopular opinion category with this one. I did not like Takara’s Treasure as much as I had hoped. Since I really enjoyed Your Sky, I went into this drama thinking I would love this one as well, but unfortunately, it just didn’t work for me. While the series certainly has its cute moments, I found Taishin’s character very difficult to connect with.

Maybe his behavior was meant to showcase a certain personality type or maybe he might be on the spectrum, but still, his portrayal was hard for me to digest. If I had to summarize the most memorable aspects of his dialogue, they would be:

1. “Eh?”
2. “Uh...”
3. “Well...”
4. “I-I am so sorry.”
5. “Th-Thank you very much.”

These five lines seemed to make up about 60–70% of his dialogue, and after a while, it became extremely annoying. The extremely slow speech pace didn’t help either. I had to use 1.5x+ speed just to make it feel natural.

After the university-following incident, I expected Taishin to show some growth or maturity, but he continued the same sneaky, childlike behavior. What made it more shocking was that his actions never seemed to have any ill intent. He genuinely believed what he was doing was acceptable. However, that only cemented my impression that Taishin felt far too much like a child throughout the series. I kept waiting for his character development, but it never came.

Your Sky (another show with a childlike MC) at least had some character growth for Teerak’s character, but this one didn’t deliver the same. Due to this, the main relationship felt really weird to me.

Moving on to Takara, he is gorgeous; I couldn’t take my eyes off him. However, I found it difficult to tell whether he genuinely liked Taishin. While it was clear that Taishin really liked him, Takara’s affection sometimes felt more like he loved the idea of Taishin rather than the person himself. I genuinely couldn't tell why Takara liked Taishin. Is it his marble eyes? Cheerfulness? His trusting nature? Taishin represents everything Takara isn’t, and while that contrast usually works well for most dramas, this drama just wasn't convincing when it came to their emotional connection.

PROS:
1. Really good acting
2. Beautiful cinematography

CONS:
1. Childlike MC with no character growth
2. Unconvincing and slightly uncomfortable romance

Overall, while Takara’s Treasure has some very nice cinematography, acting, and a few sweet moments, the lack of character development and emotional depth made it a disappointing watch for me.

Final Score: 5.5/10

“Healing Hearts and Minds: Why Dream Garden is More Than Just a Romance”

I decided to watch Dream Garden because I’m a huge fan of Gong Jun, and I’ve always been fascinated by psychology 🧠. The moment I heard this drama explored human emotions and mental healing through a romantic storyline, I knew it was something I had to see. And honestly, it didn’t disappoint — it’s a drama that feels thoughtful, mature, and full of emotional insight.

💭 Story & Themes

The story revolves around Lin Shen, a professional psychologist 🧑‍⚕️, and Xiao Xiao, a self-media emotions blogger 📱. Their contrasting personalities make for a compelling dynamic as they navigate emotional wounds, trauma, attachment issues, and personal boundaries. Lin Shen shows that even a “helper” needs help sometimes 🪞, which is such a thoughtful and realistic portrayal.

The drama also deals with grounded issues like controlling behavior and underlying depression, making the characters’ experiences feel real rather than over-dramatic 🎭. For me, it was fascinating to see how past hurts and vulnerability shape who we are, reminding me that what we see on the outside is rarely the whole story 🌌.

🎭 Acting & Chemistry

Gong Jun was excellent as Lin Shen, capturing both his professional calm and personal shadows 😌💔. The chemistry between him and Xiao Xiao, played by Qiao Xin, is palpable ✨. Their initial friction evolving into trust, partnership, and subtle romance is so satisfying 💕. I loved that the drama doesn’t rush their relationship but lets it grow naturally 🌱.

🌿 Symbolism & Meaning

The drama cleverly uses hypnosis 💤, emotional mirroring 👥, masking 🎭, and memory suppression 🧩 as metaphors. These plot devices make it more than just a romance; they turn it into a “mind game” of sorts. The idea that love itself can be a form of hypnosis, or that people sometimes mimic others’ behaviors (the “chameleon effect” 🦎), was fascinating and added depth. The symbolic imagery really resonated with me 🌸.

⚖️ What Could’ve Been Better

Pacing & Genre Blending ⏳
Sometimes the drama shifts between romance ❤️, psychological suspense 🕵️‍♂️, and case-of-the-week stories 📖, which can feel uneven. The transition from client cases back to the main characters occasionally felt abrupt 😅. If you prefer a pure romance or a strict psychological drama, the mix may feel a little jarring.

Romance Develops Slowly 💌
The romantic element builds gradually and takes a backseat to emotional exploration. If you were expecting constant romantic sweetness 🍬💖, this might feel understated. But for me, the slow-burn approach allowed for richer character growth and emotional stakes 🪴.

Stylized Psychology 🎭
Some psychological scenarios, like hypnosis revealing truths or characters conveniently opening up, felt dramatized. While not fully realistic, these moments served the emotional story well ❤️‍🩹.

🌟 Final Thoughts

Dream Garden is a refreshing drama that combines romance ❤️ with psychological insight 🧠. It explores healing, helping, and self-discovery, showing that love isn’t just about falling for someone but also about growth 🌱💞. The performances, especially Gong Jun and Qiao Xin, bring the characters’ emotional journeys to life ✨.

✅ Would I Recommend It?

Absolutely 👍. If you love psychology 🧠, symbolic imagery 🌸, and realistic emotional storytelling 💖, this drama is perfect. It’s thoughtful, moving, and offers more than just a typical love story 🌌.

LOVED IT!! Wished it was 40 eps or more lol.

I absolutely loved this drama. The acting was incredibly believable,Neo completely won me over! This was my first time seeing him, and now I’m officially a fan. Both leads carried so much emotion in the smallest expressions and quiet exchanges. The script between them was beautifully written.

**SPOILERS!!!**

Just finished this series (although I was rewatching the earlier episodes while waiting for the finale lol). The last few episodes- especially around ep 30+ felt a bit rushed. I heard they dropped four episodes, which explains the pacing toward the end could’ve used more breathing room.

Around episode 24 and beyond, I really wish we’d seen more of Ji Bozai secretly searching for Ming Ye after their separation. We just get a quick line later like, “I’ve been looking for you,” or he’s suddenly there. It works dramatically- you believe him when he says he’s done with her, yet he still shows up- but I wanted more yearning, more devastation. A few glimpses of him struggling without her, or actively trying to find her before finally finding her, would’ve made their reunion even more powerful.

I do get that Ji Bozai grew up never being able to show weakness, emotion, or trust anyone- so those quiet, isolated moments near the end of episode 23 made sense. Still, it would’ve been beautiful to see both of them yearning for each other in parallel, her searching for a cure to her illness while he tries to find her again. Or having his dragon kind of keep tabs on her here and there, maybe like a scene of him worrying about her but not stalking her like Situ was lol.

One of my favorite episodes (aside from the obvious ones like 19, 23, etc.) was when Ji Bozai tells Ming Ye she’ll be fine without him, and she breaks down and says, “No, I need you. I want to live on with you, Ji Bozai.” That moment hit so hard- especially knowing his backstory. I loved how the show portrayed his deep loneliness after learning the truth about his master, Bo Yulan, and realizing he’d been abandoned by both his mother and master (until she went to search for him to atone for her mistake). He grew up without a family and home, learning only to rely on a few people he trusted. He calls Ming Ye the “chosen one,” saying she has a future ahead of her, that she is somebody (Ming Xian), so it's okay for him to sacrifice himself. But then she turns that on him- “No, I NEED you.” They mirror each other’s childhoods in many ways, but Ji Bozai sees himself as nothing and disposable- and she has a master/father, friends, and a future. So in that scene, when she refuses to let him sacrifice himself, is her saying “You’re important to me. I won’t let you just do this alone” It was a scene to address the depression he felt after finding out he was abandoned, I think it satisfied those questions I had like okay he found out he was abandoned by his master, isn't he going to feel really sad about that after? I think this scene satisfied that question. So Ming Ye being vulnerable and doing her best to convince him like no I won't let you just sacrifice yourself, you're someone, you are IMPORTANT to me, and I want to LIVE ON and be with ONLY you Ji Bozai! UGH loved that scene.

The second male lead, Situ Ling, had real potential. His final line- “Can we start over in the next life?” was heartbreaking, but at the same time I was thinking what a tragic character, like his whole purpose was obsession over someone. You could feel his regret at the end of his dying scene. I just wished the show had given him more genuine connection with Ming Ye to make his obsession feel more gray and less abrupt. It ended up feeling more creepy than tragic because they barely had a real friendship. Like every interaction was just him helping her out of the blue, no questions asked...perhaps more moments of them actually being FRIENDS would've helped. Cause the scenes of him giving her his blood lol just like who are you to her smh. His character was obsessed and delusional, and they went that route with his character, but that's just something I wished they added. If we’d seen even a few scenes of sincere friendship or kindness between them, his descent would’ve felt more tragic and less delusional. That one memory meant everything to him, but it needed more grounding. And the way his arc ended- dying without ever reuniting with his mother- felt like such a missed chance for some kind of enlightenment or emotional payoff. Still, his story mirrored Ji Bozai’s well, both men shaped by loneliness but making completely different choices. I think Ming Ye saw him as pitiful in the end… maybe even a little disgusted lol cause like why are you constantly barging into my life but we don't even know each other! The actor playing Situ was great though- I’d love to see his growth in future dramas.

On the lighter side, Master She was an absolute gem- hilarious, warm, and genuinely lovable. It’s rare to see such a wholesome father-daughter bond in a C-drama, and it made the show feel more grounded. Zhang Tai, her best friend, was another standout- sharp, loyal, and funny. She brought balance and warmth to the heavier emotional moments and really added depth to Ming Ye's character. I mean they even tried to give Zhang Tai a happy ending too haha.

I also liked how they explained Master She and Bo Yucen’s storyline- it made sense and didn’t drag. But once the truth was revealed, I wasn’t entirely sure what the point of the tournament was anymore. Like okay Ming Ye basically doesn't need to be in the tournament anymore, she has no real ties to Yaoguang. The show tried to tie it up with quick dialogue and explanations, but honestly, the tournament itself started feeling unnecessary halfway through.

The relationships between the leads and their spirit companions- the cat and the dragon- added humor and heart without ever feeling forced. The costume design was stunning. The variety of outfits gave each character personality, and the overall styling was just gorgeous. The OST was good too, especially with the actors performing their own versions- it added emotional depth to key scenes.

Another small critique, it’s the makeup- sometimes it looked too pale. The white foundation on certain characters (especially the dragon actor) was a little distracting. Not a dealbreaker, just one of those small things that pulls you out of the fantasy a bit. And I did enjoy the scenery and CGI most of the time, some scenes could've used more stages/world building but I liked how this was filmed it looked more cinematic, compared to other Cdramas that kind of look too fake with the lighting.

I also wish we’d seen more of Ming Ye fighting or using her powers as Ming Xian. Sure, she fought Ming Xin- but he was a total weakling. It would’ve been great to see her face someone stronger or show off her power in the final episodes. When she returned to Jixing Abyss and let the mob challenge her, that could've been an opportunity to see that… but we didn’t get to see it.

During the final tournament, I really wished the Yaoguang Emperor had done more to intervene- perhaps even sacrificing himself like the Jixing Emperor so Ji Bozai could succeed him and reform the corrupt system. It would’ve been a powerful way to close his arc and connect personal redemption with structural change. At the same time I don't really see Ji Bozai fitting in or living in Yaoguang Palace, like I envision them just living in Wuxing Sea lol. So now he has prince duties?

The scene with the scallion pancake from the Empress was touching but bittersweet (when Ji Bozai hands it to Ming Ye while drunk, saying it’s from the Empress). It hinted at forgiveness and connection.

As for Ji Bozai and Ming Ye’s future- it’s implied Ji Bozai can travel to see her whenever he wants since he’s powerful enough to create the Spirit Well. Still, I wanted a more definitive scene confirming that they’d actually live together again.

And that drunk Ji Bozai confession at the end- adorable, but come on, could we please get a full “I love you”? The translation of “I like you, I really like you” didn’t hit as hard compared to Ming Ye’s “It’s not a little- I care about you so much.” Her delivery was perfect, and his stunned “What did you say?” was unforgettable. I just wished for one final surge of emotion from him to close their story, though I did love seeing that softer, more human side of him.

Their love is undeniable, and the yearning- especially the rain scene- was breathtaking when he comes to visit at Zhang Tai's wedding. Some people have commented that they don't know why Ji Bozai couldn't figure out that Ming Ye was Ming Xian sooner, but I like to believe he had a lot going on with his revenge plans and all of that, but I mean he didn't fully trust Ming Ye until later, like they kept trying to trust each other but they started from lies and manipulation, so they finally wiped a new slate clean with each other after ep 23, but I did hear it's diff than the novel in that area. Love in the Clouds left me full, heartbroken, and replaying every look and line between them. I’ll genuinely miss these characters. I hope we see Neo and Lu again as romantic leads- their chemistry was everything.

?‍♂️ Series Review: [GMMTV Vampire BL Series]

wish the action scenes felt more realistic or that they had been excluded altogether if they couldn’t be executed well. A supernatural theme doesn’t excuse unrealistic physical fights; it should enhance them. When it doesn’t, it just becomes laughable.
Acting & Characters

It was fascinating to observe how each actor handled their role.
I once thought Boun was the stronger actor and Prem kept a wall between himself and his character, but now I feel the opposite—Prem seems to have improved and connects more deeply with his role, while Boun feels slightly detached. This makes me think it’s all about how well a character’s traits fit the actor.

Some of the supporting cast felt wooden, but Barcode has shown noticeable growth—both physically and as an actor. And I must praise Mark (Methas) for his portrayal; I truly enjoyed both the character and his performance.
Story & Structure

There were some inconsistencies between the trailer and the actual series, but after finishing all ten episodes, I was pleasantly surprised. It turned out better than I expected.

The story flows nicely, even though, like many Thai dramas, the final episode feels padded with filler. The last episode could easily be shorter. Still, I appreciate that the show didn’t drag out unnecessary melodrama—it kept things relatively focused.

One big issue I have with many GMMTV series (including this one) is emotional detachment in the final episode. The supposed “big fight” between good and evil lacks emotional impact because the villains are never fully integrated into the story. If the evil side isn’t active in the main characters’ lives throughout the series, viewers can’t care about the final conflict. It ends up feeling like an afterthought rather than a climax.

Romance & Chemistry

The relationship between the main leads was interesting but could have used more emotional exploration. The romantic storyline feels solid though.

Still, I appreciate that the show avoided unnecessary comic relief—a refreshing change from the usual GMMTV formula. The overall atmosphere stayed consistent, and I was never pulled out of the story by misplaced jokes.

Themes & Execution

This series feels a bit different from the usual GMMTV lineup—it’s slightly darker, more mature, and not reliant on cliché humor. That’s probably why I ended up liking it more than expected.

It’s not fiery or groundbreaking, but it’s stable, safe, and competently done. The main weakness lies in the lack of real tension or danger—vampire stories should make you feel unsettled, but this one mostly made me feel relaxed. The danger between the lovers was stronger than the danger between good and evil, which unbalances the tone.

Dialogues

Dialogue remains one of GMMTV’s persistent problems. Too many lines feel staged, as if the actors are simply delivering words without real emotional connection. Crying scenes alone don’t equal good acting; what’s missing are authentic emotional shifts—anger, excitement, vulnerability—that make characters feel alive.

Final Thoughts

This isn’t a masterpiece, but it’s definitely one of the better vampire-themed BLs from Thailand. It’s well-structured, atmospheric, and emotionally consistent, even if it never reaches the intensity or innovation of other top-tier BL series.

If we rate it out of five, I’d say 3+—good, enjoyable, and relaxing to watch. It may not excite seasoned viewers or win new audiences outside the BL community, but it’s still a solid entry that proves GMMTV can handle something a little different when it wants to.

By far the best bl drama yet!

I've watched countless bl dramas, be it thai, korean, Taiwanese, chinese and Japanese. However, Khemjira has amazed me with its plot, cast, the ost's are being played on repeat and I'm definitely going to rewatch this series. For anyone reading who's unsure whether to watch Khemjira or not, you absolutely should. It is quite literally a masterpiece. Even the visuals were breathtaking throughout each episode and the thrilling experience kept me hooked every week. I don't usually watch horror but honesly this wasn't really horror, there were only approximately three scenes that I recall being a little scary. Khemjira should be nominated as best thai drama of the year. Absolutely loved everything about it especially the main leads and second leads. I understand that Keng and Namping are both working together in the industry for the first time and are also introverts which might explain the slightly shaky acting/emotions here and there. However I believe that with more time and experience both actors will learn to work together to improve their chemistry and emotions on screen. Can't wait to see them in their next drama "Magic Lover" hopefully next year.

oddly realistic one

Well if you're a music geek ,you would definitely like it . The drama explores the hard struggles of musician in real life . It definitely left a deep impression on me how cut through the competition is in music industry . It's so difficult to survive in there , get yourself prepared to be undermine , self doubts , inferiority complexion . The episodes reveal the characters flaws and strength . FL left a deep impression on me because she is so determined , and she literally chose the path which is often not taken by many people . She was always at the odds and disadvantages but managed through it. She wasn't a gifted musician started late on journey but still with her unwavering commitment she managed to pursue her masters .

The romance (8/10 )
What i really liked about this , both of them understood each other through their actions . Like the subtle differences you notice when you really care about someone. Everything both of them express their love through actions rather than words . It's just pure kind of understanding and deep love.

what I disliked ?
The second couples pathetic both of them were trash . Almost cheated blamed their friends for being unfaithful, unreliable trash . Almost everyone cheated on each other lol like tf 💀 insane date circle tbh

the profs gave me trauma like they all fucking retarted humans got on my nerves . The uni itself is the most difficult and toxic part for me to get through.
