A Story So Powerful, I’m Getting It Tattooed

I started this drama back when it only had around 12 episodes, and I didn’t expect to get this attached. The main couple’s chemistry is just so good, and even the side stories hit hard. It’s officially my top drama now and the first one I’ve ever rated this high. I just had to leave a review. I hope you’ll love it as much as I did!❤️

I loved it so much that I’m actually planning to get a forearm sleeve tattoo inspired by Heavenly Grief (Tiān Bēi) from the drama — not the words, but the artwork. I know Tiān Bēi means deep sorrow, but for me, it represents pain as a source of strength. Ji Bo Zai and Ming Yi showed that what was meant to destroy them only made them stronger and more capable of fighting for love. It’s a reminder that even our darkest moments have meaning—they can turn into strength and resilience.
If you ever plan to get one too, I’d love to see it—feel free to message me if my comment or the drama inspired you.

It’s honestly sad that the drama’s over. I’m really gonna miss everything about it—the story, the emotions, and especially Ji Bo Zai and Ming Yi. This one’s gonna stay with me for a long time and will always have a special place in my heart.🙇🏻‍♂️🥰

My Honest Feedback

My Honest Feedback

First and foremost, I've been anticipating this drama since the day they started filming. I only read a quarter part of the novel, and I know the storyline will be different compared to other Xianxia dramas. To be honest, it went beyond my expectations. They did a 360 change on the plot, but it works for me because when I read the novel, the more I read, the more I felt bored. But this drama makes me excited and wonder what will happen in the next episode. But of course, if someone is not used to Xianxia dramas, this might not be for them because this trope has a lot of deception, lies, and misunderstandings.

Episode 1 to 4 - Introduction phase, Plot will start at episode 5 and onwards.

However, I think I need to point out that the moral story of this drama is actually about two broken people who met each other. Both leads live in deception and lies because adults failed them. Obviously, their characters won’t be perfect and they made mistakes, but that’s the beauty of it. You learn about real love, learn about friendship, learn about the one who truly cares about you, and finally, to rely on each other. So, for those who interested with this drama, do be patient because time to time, you will be asking "why she does not want to do that? why he did that to her?" There will be character developments.

I really love Jibozai’s character because, for God’s sake, his character was written by a woman writer. He is the dream guy that we’ve ever wanted. Haha, I can’t do anything but be in love with Jibozai 😂

When it comes to casting, I know HMH won’t disappoint me, by far for me, this is his best performance. There’s something about his eyes. HMH is one of those actors who act with his eyes, and the director is aware of it!! That’s why, if you realize, they always do close shots that focus on his eyes. LYX, I know she is a good actress because I watched her acting in MJTY. I knew she wouldn’t disappoint me too, and every time she cried, I cried along with her. The rest of the characters, perfect casts!

CGI and graphics — Not to be overreacting, but by far, they’re the most beautiful for me. It reminds me of the Fang of Fortune vibe, but they have a lighter vibe than them. The way they shot most of the scenes, super aesthetic. It’s like I’m watching LITC in the cinema instead. i think you guys really need to watch this in HD. cause It’s that beautiful to me.

OST and soundtrack — at first, they tend to use the soundtrack a lot at the start, but it got lesser toward the end. I hope Youku will fix the sound problem at episode 36. I love all the OSTs of this drama, especially HMH’s song and the opening song.

Overall, this will be one of my go to dramas. From time to time, when I don’t have anything to watch, I will watch this again. so 100% highly recommend from me!

A little frustrating sometimes, but mostly nothing special

For about 10 episodes, I thought this was a fluffy xianxia. In these beginning episodes, this show features an imaginative, CGI-filled world; cutsey sound effects; and a FL pretending to be a ditz as she subdues villains with the ML. It’s all good fun.

I wish it stayed a fluffy xianxia, because I wasn’t really connecting with the characters or the plot, but I’m always down for a feel-good, low-stress watch. Unfortunately it moves on- no longer lighthearted, instead people seem to be constantly upset and/or in excruciating pain- before finally turning into another save-the-world story. It’s all alright, but for me, it fell short of being captivating.

Ming Yi, the FL, seems like a character I should like. I always love a strong female lead, and she qualifies. Especially in such a chauvinistic universe, she’s built up some impressive ability through hard work.

But somehow I just couldn’t really connect with her. It’s a little better at the beginning when we get some of her interior monologue, but that sort of goes away, and in general she’s not quite as relatable or down-to-earth as I like. She’s not bad- as a lead, she'll never be too unlikable- but I found her rather thoughtless sometimes.

I liked Ji Bozai, the ML, better. Even with his messed up past, I still found him and his emotions more relatable, and he has some decent development. His characterization as a womanizer who is secretly not made me roll my eyes- classic archetype of a misunderstood, secretly upright male lead- but it’s better than his novel version who is ACTUALLY a womanizer. He’s not bad, but the story feels like it’s more about Ming Yi.

Their fake relationship at the beginning is PDA-cringe for all the other characters to watch. We audience know it’s fake, but I still cringed. It’s the same with her ditz act- fake, but I still cringed. Nothing I felt too great about.

By the end, their relationship is rather sweet. I didn’t mind watching it, but I also didn’t like the characters enough to get a huge kick out of it. They have more steamy scenes together than your standard Cdrama, maybe some influence from vertical dramas (I think the director’s background?), but they’re all from before they fully get together.

As for other characters... Situ Ling is the SML. At first, I thought he was such a nice kid and I really wished the best for him. However, at some point his single-minded obsession began to seriously test my patience. And this behavior of taking for granted the people who are ACTUALLY there for you... I find it super annoying, whether in a show or real life.

Not that Ming Yi handles his situation that well. She’s rather thoughtless. A grandiose gesture of self-sacrifice merits a serious conversation. I suppose her reaction is within the range of understandable for somebody of her age and experience- not like I handled everything great when I was 20!- but it still didn’t make me like her. I like a protagonist a lot more when they have a bit of compassion.

There are some pretty great side characters. Ming Yi’s shifu, the two companion beasts, her dancer friend, Meng Yangqiu (the not-too-bright third wheel), are all rather likable.

And I do love Princess Tianji. At first, nobody is taking her seriously, not even her love interest. But she’s self-aware and not dumb, and she does her best with what she has. And as for that love interest? She calls him out on it, and she’s remarkably spot on. ...I did wonder why she never uses any spiritual power (I was curious if she has spiritual veins), but minor point.

I also really like Yan Xiao. His entire story seems set up to make us feel good, because you can tell it has a good chance of working out. I really looked forward to his and the Princess’s scenes, and they do get good screentime for about half of the show. Unfortunately, that’s it. They’re still around afterwards but less important.

The plot is ok. Ming Yi’s lies go on for a bit longer than I think they should. I saw somebody post online a psychoanalysis of her character and why she continues to lie. Many of the points were good and would have added depth to her personality if they were indeed true. But if so, the show should make that clear to the audience, rather than having us fabricate our own interpretations.

In general, I don’t think this show tries too hard to be deep. For instance, Ming Yi’s relationship with her empress mother seems like it has potential for complex emotions, but they really don’t go there. Just some tears here and there.

In addition, there are some villains who seem like they need a therapist more than a beating. The second villain (fox) is a minor example. I’m surprised that the protagonists don't try to talk to them and appeal to their better sides. It might not have worked, but it seems natural to want to try when you see a glimmer of goodness. Instead, though, the show sticks to black and white; enemy characters are to be defeated.

In the latter half, there are lots of tropey, predictable plot elements (eg lying to somebody to protect them) and “secrets” that are hinted so heavily, we’re probably meant to figure it out before the official reveal. It’s great that we audience get to feel smart, but kind of boring to watch characters uncovering what you already know. And Ming Yi seems dumb for not asking obvious questions.

Actually, some characters act so dumb it feels like plot holes (*example in spoilers section), but I’ll overlook plot holes since this is a xianxia. It’s a save-the-world arc by the end, and overall ok but not amazing.

Acting-wise, I think it was alright across the board. Everyone is good-looking. Hou Minghao’s acting has improved since I last saw him, with more subtle expressions. I liked Lu Yuxiao more in another show (Blossoms in Adversity), but it might just be her character I have a problem with here. Also, the script put them in excruciating pain so often that it began to look really fake to me. I think most actors did pretty well but it didn’t stand out.

For production-level stuff, the costumes are gorgeous- in a sparkly, glittering, iridescent way. They are bedazzled, and my inner kindergartener loved it. There are also a lot of really artificial-looking CGI backgrounds. It’s either very fake or very beautiful, depending on your preferences. The fighting is ok, arm waves and poses and CGI. Music is ok.

Basically, this show is ok, but not the best I’ve seen. It feels a little shallow, but is not fluffy enough to be proper shallow entertainment.

ENDING – READ AHEAD ONLY IF YOU WANT TO KNOW, CONTAINS SPOILERS

This show has a happy ending. Nobody dies except villains. The wrapup lasts more than half an episode, and they cover a surprising number of characters, but more just a glimpse. Most of it is the two leads acting lovey dovey.

MORE MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD

First, who is so dumb it’s a plot hole? The biggest example I can think of is the emperor of Yaoguang Mountain. Ming Xian is very powerful and was extremely loyal. Even if she's not his biological child, she's still an adopted one, and wouldn’t any idiot play the doting father and bring her onto their side? She’d totally fall for it. This show has a completely skewed view of nature vs nurture.

Second is my rant about Situ Ling. His character progression follows this classic pattern (SML villain) that I personally find super lame. But also, he is just poorly written. The depth and intensity of his obsession is absolutely annoying, and not relatable. A normal person would at least briefly entertain the idea of moving on with their life.

What annoys me the most is that everyone around him seems to push him in the wrong direction, concluding he’s predestined to be evil. I guess he didn’t have any real friends to give him actual good advice or believe in him, just one blind follower who’s too busy trying to market herself. It’s too bad Ming Yi couldn’t be that friend, but she’s too thoughtless and self-centered to put herself in somebody else’s shoes. She’s just like: welp, guess you’re my enemy now.

Ming Yi is many things, but she’s not thoughtful. I don’t think she can even be bothered to feel that bad about it. Her final message for Situ Ling is nice- “I hope you can live for yourself”- but she doesn’t even say it until after he’s dead. The entire thing is rather frustrating to watch.

For the Romantics Who Don’t Mind Getting Lost in the Mist

💫 Pure eyecandy for romantics and dreamers — one of those dramas you rate with your heart, not your brain.

If you’re here for logic-tight plotting or fast-paced action, this might not be your cup of tea. But if you’re in the mood for a soft, colorfully shot fantasy romance that makes your inner romantic sigh, this one’s worth the watch.

The charm
Hou Minghao and Lu Yuxiao have real chemistry. Ji Bozai and Ming Yi’s connection feels quietly magnetic: it’s in the way they look at each other, the small smiles, the unspoken understanding. Their relationship grows slowly but with genuine emotional weight, and when the story lets them breathe, it’s easy to get swept up.

The visuals are stunning: a world wrapped in mist, poetic shots, and flowing robes that make you pause just to take it in. You can tell a lot of care went into the atmosphere. It’s soft fantasy at its most visually romantic.

The not-so-perfect bits
The deception and misunderstandings… oh boy. They drag way too long. You just want to shake them and say, “Talk openly, please.” It drags way more than necessary, and the payoff comes late enough that some emotional tension feels stretched thin.
Also, Ji Bozai (Hou Minghao) deserved more screen time; sometimes the side characters’ subplots took over, and while a few were fun, it did make the pacing uneven.

What makes it still worth it
Despite the flaws, Love in the Clouds has heart. It’s not a groundbreaking story, but the romance hits in a lovely, wistful, and emotionally satisfying way. The gentle yearning, and two leads whose chemistry makes you forget about logic for a bit (if you can see past the mist of deception).

Final thoughts
If you’re strict about clichés, this story might test your patience. There are plenty of witholding the truth long-stretched moments that can keep you from fully enjoying it. I actually put the drama on hold twice because of that, and while I eventually finished it, it left a bit of a bitter aftertaste.
Still, I have to admit, I was in the mood for this kind of soft, romantic fantasy, and the leads’ chemistry pulled me back in. The acting is solid all around (both leads and supporting cast), and the romance scenes are beautifully executed, even if the story’s emotional logic doesn’t always hold up.

I’d call it a 7.5/10 —close to an 8 for the romance, visuals and chemistry alone — but the lack of a single truly honest conversation until far in prevented me from fully falling in love with it.

Did not live up to the hype for me

I went into Love in the Clouds with incredibly high expectations. I honestly haven’t seen people praise a drama this intensely since Blossom last year. It felt like this show exploded everywhere, and that level of hype definitely affected the way I watched it. I truly wanted to love it but because everyone kept calling it a masterpiece, I expected something extraordinary, something that would blow me away. Instead, I finished it feeling strangely empty.
Looking back, I think if I had started it without all that pressure and hype, I probably would’ve enjoyed it much more. The drama seems to be praised mostly because of the main couple, but everything surrounding them just didn’t work for me.
The plot had potential in the beginning, but they dragged the lies and secrets across the entire show. Misunderstandings piled up nonstop, and just when she finally told the truth, he started lying. I found it difficult to fall in love with a couple when their whole relationship felt built on deceit.
Yes, there were romantic moments, but many of them didn’t feel genuine. The few truly sincere scenes were actually rare.
As for the obsessed second male lead — I just didn’t buy it. The actor is honestly too handsome and too soft-looking for me to believe he was evil or unhinged. Nothing about him carried the menace the script wanted him to have.
And the second couple… I skipped most of their scenes. I hate to say it, but the second female lead did absolutely nothing for me. I couldn’t feel the chemistry, and I didn’t find her character compelling at all.
The real highlights of the show, for me, were actually the dragon, the cat, and even the granny. They were fun, cute, and genuinely entertaining every time they appeared. Their dynamic with their masters was adorable — those scenes felt alive in a way others didn’t.
Visually, the drama is gorgeous. The cast looked stunning — they truly looked like fairies, especially with the translation constantly calling them “fairies,” which only reinforced the vibe.
LYX was adorable as always; she just radiates cuteness even off-screen. Her crying was cute too. This was my first time watching HMH and I loved his acting — and his styling was incredible. His outfits, his hair, especially the white hair when he turned evil… perfection.
The OSTs were amazing too, and Liu Yuning really dominated this year yet again.
I rarely say this, but I don’t think any of the characters were particularly smart. Not even JBZ. He got lied to for so many episodes while the truth was right in front of him, and it made the plot feel frustrating rather than dramatic.
I think viewers who are new to xianxia might find this drama magical and romantic. But for people who have watched a lot of xianxia, this probably won’t hit the mark.
It’s disappointing when a drama with an 8.8 rating and overwhelming hype ends up feeling just okay. It makes you wonder whether the issue is your expectations or the show itself. I don’t think the drama is bad — it just fell far short of the level of masterpiece I was promised. The show had more talk than action for a Xinxia.
Would I recommend it?
Maybe — if you want to enjoy the main leads and ignore the messy plot, the continuous lies, and the lack of smart character writing. But if you’re looking for an addictive storyline, emotional payoff, or true heart-fluttering moments (which xianxia usually excels at), then this is probably not the one.
I genuinely wish I loved it more.

Frustrating

I know I'm in the minority with my opinion, but the FL character constantly frustrated me. While the chemistry between the the ML and FL was off the charts....the lies, break ups, make ups, but really the lies! Did it in for me. First! How could a woman, who trained so hard to defeat every male contestant she came up against for 7 years really have the fortitude and spin of a jelly fish? Honestly. At every turn I kept hoping she was going to find that part of her that was honorable and trained to be the best. She failed, over and over again! Seriously! The lies! Just lying to lie??? Because she was afraid? She wasn't afraid to face the toughest competitors in a million different realms, but hiding her identity made her be a lying childlike whimp? I'm still mad about it. And the consequences of those lies were devestating. SMDH. I really wanted this to be amazing, but after watching LTHFG and PoB, this one missed the high marks for drama of the year.

A breathtaking and heart-wrenching fantasy masterpiece!

Although Love in the Clouds isn’t finished yet, I can’t hold back from leaving a review — it has completely captivated me from the very first episode. Every detail, from the make-up and costumes to the stunning “sets,” draws you effortlessly into its enchanting fantasy world.

The characters are beautifully written, even the supporting ones, giving real depth to the story. Yu Yao as Ming Yi’s feline companion has completely stolen my heart — moving gracefully and with such expressive eyes! Yu Cheng En as Situ Ling is another standout, and I have a feeling he’ll be the source of more heartbreak before the story ends.

And of course, I was instantly smitten with Hou Ming Hao as Ji Bozai. Beyond his otherworldly good looks, he brings real emotion and nuance to the role — showing vulnerability, distrust, and a touch of mischievous cunning with equal conviction. Lu Yu Xiao as Ming Yi is his perfect match; together they light up the screen. Their chemistry is simply phenomenal, and every shared moment between them feels alive.

I don’t know yet if we’ll get a happy ending, but I’ve already gone through several tissues. Love in the Clouds is truly an emotional and visual feast — unforgettable in every way.

THIS COUPLE HAVE MY WHOLE HEART!!!

I was so tired of seeing couples in dramas where either one of them is extremely stern faced, never showing any emotions in any circumstances and the other one would be too bubbly, childish to the extent it would annoy you!

Ji Bozai and MingYi filled that void for me. Both of them being very kind soul despite having hellish childhood, fighting besides each other to save their people, always helping each other(even though they had ulterior motives before),expressing their emotions not only through actions but also through words....even their misunderstanding arch felt painful enough cause both had valid reasons. This couple was a breath of fresh air for their chemistry, understanding and methods of showing of affection.Despite having flaws, they understood each other well, even after being manipulated by each other, their soul was connected so deep that the heartbreaks only made them stronger!

Ji Bozai was such a great character done by Hou Minghao! I was actually looking for something done by him where he gets some real romantic action with happy ending and not gonna die multiple times by stabbing(FoF/BftB),gonna live miserably (Dashing Youth) or a monk( I am nobody). Love in the Clouds full filled my demands. Ji Bozai is so attractive, not only in looks, but also in his actions. Even though he was a warrior, he was kind, selfless, smiling, seeking for love like a puppy,a character you want to adore. He's so cunning, charismatic yet so vulnerable. He never let his traumatic past shape his kind personality which was really refreshing.Probably one of the best characters done by Minghao. And I have nothing to say about his acting, this man always excels at whatever he does!He can portray emotions with his eyes so beautifully!

Ming Yi...another character so close to my heart. She's not that childish annoying brat, shes responsible, smart, knows how to handle situation (sometimes little to much by telling lies lol),but when she loves, she loves with with her whole heart.Lu Yuxiao is such a great actress...She has such a girl next door look who is like a sunshine! She gave Mingyi life, a girl strong enough to protect herself and fight for the ones she loves,a.true warrior princess. She is a girlboss but not in an irritating way,she is still beautifully feminine, kind compassionate soul who can command power when it needs.

And these two clicked so beautifully. Ji Bozai who was looking for love after having the nightmare of a life and Ming Yi who had the love he was looking for even though her trauma was something so terrible. They were sworn enemies but they fought beside each other, fought for each other, looked out for each other even when they weren’t together. Both of them manipulated each other, but understood each others motives. Even when Bozai understood MingYi was lying,he was hurt, heartbroken but the moment he realized the truth,he let go of his most his most valuable possession,Golden Millet Dream even without telling her,not in a dramatic way,but in a very subtle way that would melt your heart. They never pushed each others boundary, respected what situation wanted from them.Every moment of them being together was so cherishable, the way Ji Bozai looks at MingYi,the way MingYi calls Ji Bozai's name, the way they both yearns for each other...everything. Their sensual moments was on fire,Minghao-Yuxiao really put their everything to bring those characters in life.I loved the fact that despite being the most powerful warriors in the realm, they were never arrogantly proud. They were kind, sweet, caring people. Their trauma never defined them. They knew each others strength, vulnerability, weakness and shaped their relationship accordingly.

You could feel how much insecure Ji Bozai was in that bath scene when he couldn’t understand who was Mingyi talking to as she was under a spell....was it him? Was it Ming Xian? But he never pushed hard cause what mattered at that moment was Mingyi's well being. He asked calmly while trying to sooth her. But the moment he realised Ming Yi was confessing her love to him again and again....his eyes got teary. He could feel Ming Yi's inner struggle, her battle with herself. Only then he proceeded with the kiss cause he himself was struggling way too hard. This whole scene was shown so beautifully, their understanding level peaked there.

All other characters were good too! The princess was amazing at her works, she saved them from lots of trouble, loved to see a princess who actually understands her position as the next empress and acts according to it. And the other casts were also complementing each other so well.

The companion beasts were adorably loyal.Buxiu was great but Er Shiqi was extremely adorable.

The actual pain was Situ Ling.....like....my goodness, boy, get a life already!!!! I don’t know how thickhead someone can be after being rejected by someone bazillions of times!!!!He was'nt inherently annoying but my God was he testing my patience!!!

Story wise....okay let me tell the truth. The story fell apart when Situ Ling started to get more screentime than the main lead couple, even more than the second main lead couple. His obsession was way too much, but did it actually deserve that much of screentime?? It annoyed me a lot. Also....there was not enough MingZai moments to the end. The whole Mingyi-Ming Xian-Crown Prince part was stretched too long that I even started to miss the main couple even though they were in the screen. Break ups after break ups, heartbreaks upon heartbreaks wasn’t necessary. And the lying part by MingYi was dragged too. We could get so many more MingZai scenes if she was'nt lying half the episodes. There was political storyline and to be honest,it wasnt much necessary imo.I just wanted so many lovey dovey moments from a married couples that were deleted for God knows what reasons!! Also there was so many classic cliches like self sacrifice, child swapping, obsessed villain...but they were ignorable cause the chemistry was touching the sky!!!

Cinematography was great! Styling was amazing! The only complaint I have is about the story telling which got stretchy towards the end and so many deleted scenes which could add more flavour to the MingZai couple! I don’t remember the ost's except the one by Minghao,it was pleasant to the ears.

However overall I am happy cause this couple won my heart! The amount of fiery chemistry they hold, really wanna see them in another drama,a modern drama perhaps?

Bdw..... I REALLY WANTED TO BURN THOSE CURTAINS. I WISH I COULD!!!!!

Iykyk lol!

First time writing such an honest review in my life just for the best xianxia drama ever for me.

First of all, this is my first time ever in my writing a review for tv series. English is not my first language so I will try my best to get it to the point.

First for the story part, many people saying FL unnecessarily keeps a secret to ML and people complaining why she didn’t just ask him to give her the antidote. I just wanna say you guys don’t understand Mingyi’s character completely. She was raised in an environment where she was forced to be a useful person to someone and getting no care or love from her parents or family or anyone. So when it comes to the time, when she need to tell ML to give her the antidote, she was confused if it was the real love. And even if ML really love her, it’s really hard to tell him straight to give her an antidote. It’s also explained by FL in the series too, ML’s master made him take an oath not to let the antidote appear in the world nor to give anyone. Mingyi didn’t want him to break that just because she’s his beloved person. That’s what the character Mingyi is. (Also this might be unnecessary but Mingyi said that Mingxian has pride that he don’t want his fated enemy to see the weak point at all.) Mingyi is willing to give her life just for ML to not feel uncomfortable choosing between his master and her. But even then, if she really need the antidote, if she really have to stay alive, the bad person must be herself, not the ML who have to break an oath to protect the antidote like his master claimed. (I really really really like this character setting. It just make FL seems more internally strong.)
Also, there was a part when ML told FL about his master and an oath, and also told her that she’s not like any other people who are only here just for the antidote. And then Mingyi said what if she’s same with other people, and ML answered he believed in her. You say, how should Mingyi react to his words? Cuz he said right through her. (Idk if i was in Mingyi’s shoes, I dont think I can tell him the truth either cuz it just feel so helpless when someone you really love or care about believe in you that much and you have to betrayed his love and belief just to make sure you can stay alive) It’s just that much helpless/hopeless for Mingyi to choose between him and her life. (Poor Mingyi T_T) Even when she saw ML destroyed the antidote in front of her, and her master complaining about she said that “ that’s his belonging after all, there is no way they can complain about just because he doesn’t want to give her. (Such a positive-minded and broad-minded girl I’m not crying ahhhh 😭😭😭)

I also see the same few people talk bad about FL and pity ML when ML chose to keep quiet about his injury and wanted to break up with FL. This is the same situation as early part Mingyi but the difference is now that they understand each other and all misunderstandings were clear also the most important thing is that FL didn’t have any oath or anything to obey, unlike ML’s situation.
Of course, I don’t want to see both of them getting hurt and pity both of them but I mean, this is the unnecessary thing most people talking about FL. And just for you to know, when FL is being poisoned, the leaf petal on her hands are being used mostly to save other or even ML, NOT ONE OF THE PETALS ARE USED FOR HERSELF. This is where FL needs to be recognized by some people saying she’s not a good FL.
(I just write down what appears in my brain, there’s might be some details that you or me left unnoticed about Mingyi’s character. I will try to find few more and add them later tho)

Also, I started watching this series only because I’ve seen Lu Yu Xiao’s Shangguan qian acting. At the first few episodes, yes, the pace is slow and few screens make me cringe little bit but I kept watching it despite seeing many people complaining and dropping the series. (And i made the right choice for sure, it didn’t disappoint me at all, I enjoyed the whole series and I even bought two svip account on youku app just to support the series and casts)
Now comes the part where I wanna talk about. Many people say that FL’s acting and voice lines are bad. But that’s not the case for me. I really like her acting and especially her original voice lines. For acting, there’re so many little expressions which normal people can barely handle. Cute scene looks so natural to me and I don’t feel any cringe feeling about it.

And then for the original voice lines. Idk why many people say it’s so uncomfortable or unpleasant or unprofessional. For me, her voices are so realistic, like when she cries, there’s like heavy breathing and few shuttering voices in it. It feels like she’s actually feeling sad and cry out of her chest. Who can hear words clearly when you cry out loud? I don’t understand people saying can’t hear her words clearly. There are so many feelings delivered out of her voices. I REALLY REALLY LIKE THAT!!!
Anyway, I really enjoyed this drama and it easily topped my xianxia drama list.
Hope everyone who read till now also enjoy the show too. Thanks for reading such a long review!

I thought nothing will beat LBFAD but yet, here we are.

I believe the production quality of this particular drama is on a completely different level. I think many other viewers would agree that even the special effects, something we used to complain about in the past, are practically flawless this time. Any potential issues are barely noticeable.

All the scenes that likely involved actors being suspended on wires are done so naturally that you barely notice it. Nothing feels forced or artificial. I also found that far fewer elements of the world felt fake or overdone. Everything looked incredibly natural and realistic, which is a huge achievement and a sign of real technological progress in production.

Of course, I also have to mention the casting. It’s absolutely perfect. The chemistry between the ML and FL is unmatched. What makes this series truly exceptional, though, is that nothing is ever completely obvious. No one is simply good or bad.

The plot twists are mind-blowing. I often found myself rewatching certain scenes two or three times just to fully understand what had happened. Overall, I think the series is simply phenomenal.

What I especially appreciate is the balance of power between the male and female characters. We rarely see productions where this dynamic feels so genuine and equal. We need more stories with strong, complex women like Ming Yi rather than Fairy characters who are lower in cultivation level.

If anyone has any doubts about whether it’s worth watching, YES, absolutely. I also hope that the book the series is based on will be translated into English soon.

cried, crying, will cry again

The story was so good, i absolutely loved how the cat was portrayed by that actor- 100/100. id prefer it if the female lead didnt act like she was ready to die in every episode, but it was part of the story line i guess. the love between the two leads was just like in every other chinese drama- girl is hurt, boy saves her, boy is hurt, girl saves him, someone is on the verge of death but the ending is somehow nice in a super sad way. surprisingly this ending was not as sad, but for me it felt like something was about to happen and ruin it lol.
